Definitely update time! This place is amazing and cute. Very professional and everyone is so nice. Located in holladay off of highland drive in this small shopping center with plenty of parking. I used to come to this location all the time when I lived near but I go to the downtown store now and both are just as great. It was a pain-free wax and affordable. Easy in and out. I'm not a novice to waxing, so I am willing to try new places occasionally. I'm glad I gave Salt Wax Society a try. The experience was one of my better ones. Booking: The online booking tool was fairly easy to use. I don't love that you have to provide a credit card and create an account to book an appointment, but I'm finding that is how most salons work to avoid no-shows. Facility: The salon itself does seem to be a little dated (water stains on the ceiling, dirty baseboards) but was not so bad that I worried about hygiene. Just a little TLC could go a long way. The Wax: The waxing process itself was one of the least painful ones I've had. I'm not sure if this was because my gal was just THAT good or if the mixture of hard and soft wax is the secret. Either way, I appreciated that it was effective and as comfortable as it, ahem, can be. Verdict? I'd go back. read more

Oh my god these people suck so bad. My friend had a membership here that she cancelled and salt wax literally just kept charging her for something she cancelled. She even got an email from some girl that works there saying she was good to go. And the manager was SO RUDE snd SO DISRESPECTFUL to her in her email about the refund. Soooooo shady. Also I've been there and my Brazilian wasn't even well done. NOT WORTH THE MONEY read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE !!!!!! This company is sooo untrustworthy & dishonest. As a teacher, I unfortunately could no longer afford the membership, & subsequently submitted a cancellation request. I never received confirmation of this, & emailed to make sure my membership had been cancelled, which I was assured WAS CANCELLED. For FOUR months following the cancellation, they were CHARGING ME. I sent an email with all the photos of the reassurance of cancellation & the manager Jamie was so beyond rude to me. she called me "crazy" because I asked for a refund. What a joke. I am furious. I had an appointment with Taetum. I went in to get my brows waxed and tinted. I am leaving out of town, so I was in need of this. When I got there she asked me about how dark I wanted them. I was VERY clear I did not want them dark. I just wanted the same color I walked in with. (I am blonde). when she got done and showed me, they were black!!!!!! And they were so thick. I looked ridiculous. Not only that but she waxed half my eyebrows off. They stop half way!!!! Salt Wax Society was founded to raise the standard for waxing in Salt Lake City—especially for Brazilian and brow waxing. After years in the industry, our founder, Monique, saw a gap in consistency, technique, and overall client experience, and built a studio focused on doing things differently. Today, we’re a membership-based waxing studio known for efficient services, consistent results, and a welcoming, judgment-free environment. Our goal has always been simple: create a space where clients feel comfortable, confident, and taken care of every single visit.

Meet the Business Owner: Monique F.

I started Salt Wax Society in 2012 with the goal of creating a waxing studio where clients feel genuinely welcome, comfortable, and taken care of. After five years, my husband and I made the decision to sell the business and move back to California. Since then, I’ve built and operated multiple businesses, including Elixr Wax Bar in San Diego and Ladybird Society, a coworking and community space for women after moving back to Salt Lake City. But Salt Wax always stayed close to me. When I found out the new owners were struggling and close to closing their doors, I was given the opportunity to step back in—and I didn’t hesitate. It felt like coming home. Now, I’m focused on building Salt Wax Society into more than just a waxing studio. We’ve created a space rooted in body positivity, community, and consistency—where everyone feels welcome and taken care of. No stuffy attitudes, just really great waxing services and a team that genuinely cares about every client who walks through our doors

The bumps became deep, painful, and recurrent enough that I eventually had to see a dermatologist and receive medical treatment. I had purchased a package for Brazilian waxes, but stopped using the remaining services because the ingrown hairs and irritation were progressively getting worse after each appointment. I contacted the location several months ago and was refunded for the unused portion of the package, but not for the services that ultimately left me dealing with a painful skin condition, medical expenses, discomfort, stress, and scarring. I followed proper aftercare, tried their recommended products, stopped shaving/waxing, and used multiple methods to try to resolve the issue, but the condition continued. I understand that folliculitis and ingrown hairs can be a known risk of waxing and that reactions vary from person to person. However, I wish I had been better informed about the potential severity and persistence of these complications, especially for people with sensitive skin or those prone to ingrown hairs. I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions and monitor symptoms early if they begin experiencing similar issues. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

I've been going to Allison for a year now and I can't say enough great things! She is super efficient in her waxing. I have a monthly pass for the Brazilian waxing which we all know is not the most fun service to look forward to. Allison is extremely professional and makes you feel super comfortable before she goes to work. Although it's obviously not the best feeling, this salon is trained in using hard and soft wax to make it as quick and comfortable of a process as possible. Being waxed at other places before, I am amazed at how fast and clean this wax is. It literally takes 20 min total, and comparatively speaking, it's the easiest wax service to get through. The salon itself is super cute and I often get lost staring at all the skincare and cute gifts it sells. I have referred many people to Salt Wax and in particular to Allison. My girlfriends at work always say they're going to "see Allison today", and we all laugh and wish each other luck. I had a personal situation once where I had to cancel an apportionment last minute, and instead of charging me a fee, Allison was quick to understand and rescheduled me without charging me, which speaks wonders to her customer service. I wouldn't go anywhere else but Salt Wax and look forward (strange, I know) to my monthly appointments! read more

I see Lauretta for my monthly brazilian wax and she is by far the best waxer I've seen since I lived in Brazil! She is a perfectionist when it comes to shaping and getting every hair and I leave happy every time. To top it off, Lauretta is funny and corky - I just love her!!! She makes you feel comfortable and she's really great at making sure you get the shape you want. The price is affordable too! I think I'll be going on 5 months with Lauretta and I definitely recommend her! Some back story --I've been getting Brazilian waxes for years and had been going to WaxMeToo downtown for about 2 years. I had to leave because my waxer was getting sloppy with her technique and the final straw was a super rude interaction with their scheduler. So, here I was - determined to find a new person at a good price. I found Lush Wax Boutique either on Yelp or maybe a groupon (I'm so weary about wax groupons) and that's how I found Lauretta. It's a shame people with groupons leave bad reviews. You're obviously not a regular and you give the business a bad rep by passing along your unforgiving bad energy! I love Lush and recommend the place to everyone I know. read more

VERY CLEAN, SANITARY, and WELCOMING. I have been very impressed every time I have been waxed. I have had Allison and Monique, both were wonderful! They made me feel so comfortable and at ease. They were very personable and wanted to make sure that we were taken care of, from offering me waters, to my wax itself. I have the membership for $35 a month....It's so worth it for waxing, as well as extra discounts for other waxing. They are on time with their appointments which is very nice, and make me feel like a new woman when I walk out. So getting waxed hurts, but the more you go, the less it hurts, I don't want to stop going, then have to start back up again because of the pain..so I just keep my membership and go every month :). read more

I've been in before for Brazilians but this was the first time for brow wax. I was in as a model. Monique did an excellent job waxing and shaping. When I arrived I was hesitant on changing the shape I've had for about 15 years but confined in her to do a great job with the new shape, which turned out wonderful. She not only shaped my brows but defined my forehead and hair line which looks great and clean now. The Co-owner filled and defined them after the wax and made them look so good! I absolutely love my new brows. Although, I was there as a model and there were 5 of us in the room, they made it feel very comfortable. I appreciate the email subscription that sends out promos and model openings. Would recommend this place ;) read more

Literally the best waxing salon I have been to. Extremely clean and the staff is very professional. My full brazilian was done in 15 minutes - I couldn't believe it! I was a little wary to go an get a brazilian because I had a bad experience at a different salon. Alison made me feel completely at ease by talking with me during the entire procedure. She answered all my questions (even the embarrassing ones I should have probably known). If you're scared about what's going on, JUST ASK! The estheticians are not mind readers and everyone is different. Plus their bazilians are only $50 - and only $35 if you have a monthly membership! Killer deal! Alison is a waxing queen! I have had nothing but pleasant experiences at Lush Wax Boutique! Monique is very friendly and knowledgable. She's easy to talk to and answers any questions thoroughly. Every other woman that I have been to at Lush has also been very friendly, fun and made me feel totally comfortable. They have all been very professional and done a very good job. Their products are gentle on my sensitive skin, I don't get a lot of irritation or anything which I have had problems with before at other salons. The facility is comfortable and clean, inviting and warm. Prices are reasonable, location can be a little tricky to find but all in all, I love Lush Wax Boutique and will continue to go back! read more

I was pretty nervous and felt awkward because I have never done anything so "semi-permanent" (especially on my face)! Monique was extremely detail-oriented, checking in with me as the entire time , making sure that I liked exactly what she was doing, from the mapping and design, to the perfect color match, and that I was comfortable and not having too much discomfort at any time. And the microblading turned out amazing! It's only 3 days later and I am getting TONS of compliments on my brows! I am so happy I made the decision to go for it! No matter how many times I try, I'll never be able to adequately express just how exceptional Salt Wax is! Everything is exquisite! Down to the finest detail! I can't possibly say enough about the Salt Wax experience, so I think it's time to talk about Jamie! Jamie is the rarest kind of person! She will instantly make you happy, no matter how you're feeling before you're in her presence! Her waxing is always fast and flawless! And her talk therapy is incredible! This was my first Brazilian and I went to Brooke. She was AMAZING. First of all, I was obviously very uncomfortable. Being half naked in front of a stranger will do that to you. Brooke made me very comfortable and just kept talking, distracting me from the pain and weirdness of the situation. The wax was not too hot, the pain was not NEARLY as bad as I thought it would be, I wasn't left with patches of wax, and I had no bumps or ingrowns at all. Not a single hair was missed, she went over with tweezers and everything. Overall, 10/10, would totally recommend and I'll definitely be back. read more

Ever since I discovered this place thanks to a Groupon, I keep coming (and asking for Loretta) she did the best job EVER! for a Brazilian wax, (and I've had tons of them before). She doesn't rush through it, but she actually takes her takes time to make sure you are comfortable and experiencing the least pain possible, and she is very nice in general. I couldn't believe it when she told me she was done, because I experienced far less pain than with other aestheticians. The place is clean and well supplied and the staff is very courteous, I highly recommend it! read more

Went into Salt Wax Society for a Girl's Day with my friend and it was super fun and relaxed. Lupe did my brazilian and she is aamaaazing! She made it as painless as possible and made everything very comfortable. She joked around a little bit and made conversation, which really distracted from any pain of the waxing process. All around a great experience!! The results were smooth and clean. Everything I expected. Also, The salon decor is sooo cute! :) 10/10 would recommend. I have been a loyal customer of Salt Wax Society for several years and would highly recommend it to anyone. The facility is nice and clean. The monthly membership is very competitive. I started going to Monique when I was in San Diego. It was by far the best waxing experience I've had. I'm very excited that she opened a new place here. Her tecnique is the least painful and fastest I have ever had. Her prices are also the best ones I've found for the amazing job she does! I have gotten just about every wax you can and I would never go to anyone else now that I've been to her studio. She is very professional and clean I'm never worried about the cleanliness of the studio or products she uses. read more

I just went to Brooke for my lashes. I've had them done before and absolutely hated them but decided to give it another try. Brooke really took her time doing one eye at a time and perfecting each lash, not to mention the music and relaxing environment she provided. Everyone at my work complimented my make up the next day and when I told them it was my lash extensions they raved about how natural they look. I'm a client for life and definitely recommend Brooke to anyone thinking about getting your lashes done. read more

This was the best Brazilian Wax I've ever had!!! Ashley is excellent, she pays such careful attention to detail and makes sure to pull every hair. They also use a combination of hard and soft wax on different areas so it was also the most painless Brazilian I've had! They have a monthly plan where you can get a Brazilian every month for $44! Ashley was a great conversationalist and the salon has a very cute aesthetic and vibe and is now my favorite waxing spot!!! read more

Great, great, great place! I got both a Brazilian and eyebrow wax today...and seriously, it was the least painful Brazilian I have EVER had! The girls were awesome, the shop was clean (although a little hard to find) and everything was very professional! I even showed up almost 20 minutes late (I did call) and they still were able to do both services that were booked! Support your local businesses while getting a great wax here; highly recommended! I have been going to Lush for a little over a year, and I think they are amazing! So friendly and they are always ready for me, I have never had to wait. I have always had a great experience. Monique is wonderful and makes you feel so comfortable. I am in and out with in 20 min, the rooms are clean, and the staff is very professional. First time Brazilian bikini wax. The staff was very professional and courteous. Monique was my aesthetician. (sp?) She was also very professional and courteous. I had a coupon I google that was for $15 off. I payed $30 total. The location was a little hidden, and I got a little lost, (it's right by Holladay Pizza, in the subterranean sector,) but I get lost frequently. The wax only took about 20 minutes. Good job, ladies. I got a Brazilian wax and they were great! Brooke was awesome, as they all are. They make you feel really comfortable while being very efficient and thorough. I have gone to other spas and this was by far the best and least painful. I have also done a few Brazilians at the beauty schools and I would highly recommend coming to Lush instead; much less painful and quicker. You won't regret getting a Brazilian, especially from Lush. read more

I went in for a Brazilian from Lauretta. She is very professional and quickly made me feel at ease. She was careful to make sure the wax was the correct temperature and took the time to reduce the pain as much as possible. She made sure that all the wax was removed when she was finished and all hairs were removed. I didn't have to wait and the room was clean. I will definitely be back for another appointment with Lauretta! read more
