We also brought some older cans we did not use yet for a good shaking. The gentleman working there was friendly and helpful. He gave those old cans the good shaking they needed without any fuss. He also doubled check the formula to ensure there was no change since our last purchase to ensure it would match and answered all our questions. The paint is a little more pricey, but it had great coverage and the service was perfect. Much better than the big box store when shopping for paint.

WHAT IS ACE DOING??!!!…read more I ordered an item online from Ace and needed to return it, so I went to their website (sadly I ignored my instinct not to shop at Ace because they are going extinct). Their "easy" return policy states that you must find a store and return it there or call a number. I called the number and was met with a promotional scam. The only option to get to talk to a representative was to dial "1" which brings you to a promotional department asking if you want $100. I wasn't born yesterday and I know you never get something for nothing. I said I just want to know how to return my item and so they promptly hung up on me, so I had to find a store. The nearest store was Werner's Ace, in Florida, NY, which is a 25 minute drive from my house. When I got there and said that I needed to make an online return, a very rude woman snapped at me that I have to come back tomorrow because the person who does online returns will be in tomorrow. So, of the three people behind the counter, none knew how to process a return - there is just one person specially trained LOL??!!! What are you doing guys? Do you know what year it is?

Wallauer Paint & Hardware saved me a few dollars…read more I needed salt pellets for my home's water softener, and wow... the price of these bags has gone up considerably over the last year. After shopping around, I found this Ace Hardware was actually a bit cheaper than the big-box home improvement stores. Ordering online was easy (and don't forget to go through your favorite cash-back website before checking out...). My order was ready for in-store pickup a few days later. Pickup couldn't have been easier. They even offered to help carry everything out to my car, but carrying ten 40-pound bags is lovely exercise... so I declined. The store is easy to get to, just off Route 59, with a convenient parking lot and quick access in and out. It's branded as Wallauer Paint & Hardware, but it's also an Ace Hardware location. In addition to the usual hardware selection, they carry a full line of Benjamin Moore paints. Smooth experience, competitive prices, and friendly service. I'll definitely check here the next time I need supplies.

She shared invaluable local insights about Beacon, giving us great directions on how to navigate the town, catch the bus, and find the absolute best coffee spots. This is a store I go out of my way to shop at. I don't know whether I can get certain things at a…read morebigger store like Lowes or Home Depot for less expensive, but I honestly don't care -- the folks who work there are super nice and knowledgeable and take their time to help you find something. There's also always someone there to help me bring the heavy stuff to the car, and no one will accept a tip -- "happy to help" seems to be their tag line. They're also great about referring customers to other local businesses if they don't have something I'm looking for. A recent example was I was looking for a hori-hori (google it, it will change your life). They had some tools that looked similar and probably could've sort of done the trick -- but someone working there told me where I could find an actual one on Main Street. Found it, bought it -- and told the folks working there how I learned about them. Builds community and relationship as opposed to competition. Dig it. These folks are my go to -- highly recommend them.
