All I wanted was a basic pedicure with no polish. It was about one hour before closing, and there were three to four employees sitting around the front desk eating Hot Cheetos saying "no you can't be seen we are about close" while stuffing their face with chips. I then called the manager Wednesday and explained what happened. The manager was snotty and hostile toward me, and I felt that my concerns were not taken seriously. I even mentioned that a new nail salon is being built on Tezel Road near McDonald's, and that they could potentially attract this salon's customers. The manager told me, " I am being bitter, Hope God blesses you," and I immediately responded, "He blesses me all the time." Then the conversation ended.
The situation could have been handled professionally. The manager or staff could have simply apologized for my experience and tried to make things right. Instead, I was dismissed and disrespected.
As a business owner or manager, professionalism and customer service are important, especially in a neighborhood where word of mouth matters. Rather than arguing with customers or calling them liars by their spouse who was not in A and B conversation, it is better to listen to their concerns and handle complaints respectfully.
Because of this experience, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Although the other salon was a little farther away, I received much better service, left a positive review, and gave an excellent tip.
I hope the owner takes this feedback seriously and uses it as an opportunity to improve customer service and professionalism.
