1.5 stars I have gotten a signature manicure and pedicure a couple times. They do a good job on the service, however both times the nail tech has gotten up to either help another customer (take off their nails) and answer the phone (to schedule appointments). And likely bc of the interruptions, I did not receive the hand massage, which is listed as part of the treatment in the description, on the booking platform. When paying $75, I do not think it's much to ask for technician to focus on the client they are helping. Also, there is a $2 fee for credit card. For a premium nail salon it feels a bit run down and dirty. read more

I was lucky enough to find a place that pays close attention to detail in LA! Theres a good selection of cat eye polishes and glitters. This tells me that they are up to date with the latest trends! The salon set up itself is really reminiscent of Vietnam nail shops (if you've ever been to a nail salon in Vietnam you'll know what I'm talking about). I also love the fact that they keep the door open because I'm sensitive to smells. There's no polish or acetone smell that gets trapped inside here since the door is open!! read more

Amazing amazing ! Love it here ! I definitely recommend this spot ! 10/10. Their gel x nails last me over a month. No lifting, no breaks, no nail polish has been fallen off. I've had their spa no 3 pedicure a couple times now, and they've done a pretty good job overall both times. I didn't make an appointment with anyone specific...I just went with whoever was available. The whole experience includes soak, scrub, soak, scrub, callous removal, hot stone and massage, wax, etc...they really do pamper your feet. It's also pretty nice inside and the chairs are comfy. Kate Y went with me both times for the spa no 3 pedi, but she also had them do her toenails with premium gel polish plus rhinestones...they did a really good job and her nails looked super pretty! Nail Box does a great job pampering your feet with the spa no 3 pedicure...it's not the cheapest option at Nail Box (they have several different options including a basic pedi) but your feet will thank you! They also validate parking if you ask. read more

My service was on 1/26/25 and I reached out on 2/7/25. I was told I would receive a call back regarding next steps but then did not. I called back on 2/8/25, and was still told there would be a fee for a fix. On the phone I was told there was a 10 day policy for free fixes. When I left a yelp review, was told there is a 14 day policy. I have photos from 2/3 already showing chips but was out of town. I love my nails! I live super close and forgot about this place honestly but I finally decided to try them out. It was really easy to make an appointment online. I got a gel manicure. The nail person, Anh Le, did a really good job. It was literally and figuratively a painless experience. Downsides: there's no service inside of the shop. I didn't really need to use my phone during the appointment but when trying to til via Venmo I had to step outside. It's also on the expensive side. According to the list of services it was $45 for the manicure and $5 to remove my precious gel manicure. But I was charged $52 so maybe the prices online haven't been updated. It's been a week and my nails still look fantastic so *shrugs* maybe it's worth the price (I hope). I'd definitely come back! read more

My nail broke and ripped into the pink part of my nail (no blood just needed to seal the broken part) I saw that this place was around the corner and took walk ins so I headed over in hopes to get my nail fixed or at the very least glued so that it wouldn't rip any further. I walk into the store and the first question was asking if I got my nails done here - I didn't, so they refused to help me with my ripped nail because they don't work on nails not done by them . So I asked if they had any nail glue I could buy to seal the ripped nail but they didn't have any glue. This is my goto neighborhood nail spot. It's super easy to get an appointment, you can call them and they usually have availabilities. It's located in the One Santa Fe complex and they have a parking lot as well which is great for downtown. The staffs are always friendly and professional. The price is reasonable for downtown! read more

In the end I loved my nails. However it took 2 full hours to get a gel mani and pedi (despite having scheduled an appointment), cost nearly $200 and the nail techs were not gentle. For the mani, she kept bending my hands to get to my nail bed in a way that was painful. For the pedi, she broke my skin and now I worry I could get an infection. She told me to use neosporin when I got home--not sure why she didn't give me any there? I was late for my appt. at that point and didn't get a chance to press her. read more

Unfortunately I'm going to have to knock off 1 star due to them changing your nail tech. I book an appointment with certain nail techs that I have had in the past & they will initially confirm it. Only to later change the nail tech without a reason. It's a nuisance because I will book a nail tech that I've previously had & liked their work. This has happened 2 times. The first time it happened, I wanted to let it slide. Just a heads up in case this happens to you!! read more

As soon as I sat down I was pressured into paying $15 dollars to remove my nail polish! Why they would do that to a first time customer is beyond me. Was I suppose to know that I would be charged for something so routine! Anyway. The seating isn't as comfortable as it is cute, where the foot tubs are. I prolly won't return. I thought more of this place because of location, but it's just a regular old nail shop. read more

I walked in for a gel manicure and was in and out in less than an hour! I really appreciated that the doors are kept open for air flow. It was a hot day and they had the AC running but kept the doors open for extra COVID safety. Lots of hand sanitizer throughout the shop and plexiglass walls to keep you and the technicians safe. Vy was excellent! She took her time and was very patient and made sure my nails were perfect. I always get nervous when my cuticles are being pushed back and cut away but she was very skilled and focused. I will be back to see her. Check the pics for my mani! Love a good neutral. I usually stop in here when I'm in a pinch because it's in a convenient location and I usually can get in last minute. They have a decent range of colors to choose from and the staff are all friendly. I deducted a star because it usually takes a little longer than I'm used to at this salon and I haven't ever left loving my nails unfortunately. With that being said I would return because sometimes it's too difficult to make it to my usual nail salon and I appreciate the convenience. read more

I needed a quick manicure for work and made a same day appointment. When I ended up nearby a lot earlier than my appt, I dropped in to see if they could take me earlier. They were so sweet working it out and did a great job. I love that they open up the door so you don't get trapped in a room that smells like chemicals. Will def come back! read more

One of the only nail salons I know of in downtown LA that offers consistent good service. Some technicians are a lot friendlier than others. I need to start asking names for future reference because I usually just see whoever's available. Obsessed. I loved my last nail place but I've moved and it's just too far. I've only ever loved two nail places in my life. I don't think I'm that picky but most are just ok and I deal. Make that three and this is THE BEST my nails have ever looked. I was worried because the base prices are a bit high but with the extras I used to get it's about the same honestly. The space is super cute in a nice shopping center. The big garage door makes it feel very open and airy. And the gel colors! Excellent! Sana gave me an excellent pedicure with a little salt scrub and great massage. Annie gave me the best set of my life! I've never had gel x and my expectations were low based on the ads to buy a kit online. The tips are pre shaped so it's easy to get exactly even nails without hours of filing. She did the absolute best manicure before to ensure a clean surface. No one has ever cleaned my cuticles like that! Overall I used to pay about 200 at my old place and with tip it was exactly 200 here and better results. Treat yourself! read more

Positive Update- They told me they'd re-do my nails at no cost and agreed the work was not up to par. I HIGHLY recommend seeing tech, VY, she is the one who I had an amazing first experience with and was the one who saved the day! Nails in Brown is her work and she made me so happy. She does excellent work and communicates well. Services are pretty expensive here but it's only because of Vy and Annie that I may decide to come back. It's also very close to my Pilates studio. By far the best nail salon I have visited! I decided to check this nail salon out based on some YouTuber's recommendations and I was very impressed! They have two hour free parking inside the lot if you visit the nail salon. The shop is super cute inside, decor feels very modern and it's pretty clean inside! It smells really nice too- surprisingly not like nail polish! And they always offer free water or green tea- take advantage! Their nail selection is endless! I usually go for an Essie polish and I'm always pretty satisfied with the turn out. Prices are on the cheaper side for this nail which is a huge plus! They also focus on detail and intricate nail designs. I would totally check this place out! read more

Poorly run and horrible customer service. Received a promotion from the landlord for $50 and when I went to pay they refused to accept my coupons, threatened to take my polish off and made me feel uncomfortable for having a promotional coupon. I refused to pay full price so they told me to leave and that I wasn't welcome back. Update: got my nails done on a Sunday (gel) , they are already cracking and chipping off - 5 days later. Poor quality product and customer service. Should be a negative review. read more

Even picking out a nail color is a nice experience because the waiting area is just so aesthetically pleasing with a good playlist. I don't mind waiting also because there's a blue bottle coffee, a few stores down and other cafés. The receptionist and t nail techs are so patient and friendly, I tried to get my nails done with my baby , it was not our day. And even if I didn't work out, Anna was so understanding and welcomes me back when I can make it work. As for the the quality.... 10/10 long lasting never chipping gel nails , and as a nanny and a mom . Who is hard on her hands, your nails will hold up at least 3 wks sure with gel X ! I love Chi studio and I HIGHLY recommend as a girl that has been to the very best salons in LA and NYC .

I understand that delays can happen, but there was very little communication about the wait. My nail tech was quiet, which I didn't mind at all. However, when I asked questions throughout my appointment, she either didn't respond or didn't acknowledge them, which made the experience feel uncomfortable. I originally wanted acrylic nails, but I was persuaded to get Gel-X instead because I was told they would last longer. Unfortunately, that has not been my experience. I wasn't planning on leaving a review, but after only one week, several of my nails are already lifting. For a $120 service, I expected much better quality and durability. At this point, they feel comparable to press-on nails. Overall, I'm disappointed because I spent a lot of money expecting a long-lasting, professional set, especially for a special occasion. I hope this feedback helps improve both the customer experience and the quality of the service.

Worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. My nail tech Sana was amazing and my pedicure went so well that I decided to do gel extensions. Due to the fact that I loved my toe color so much that I wanted matching nails. I was told there might be enough of the jelly polish but she thought she could make it work. The tech that was so lovely doing my pedi but didn't know how to do gel extensions so they had some other lady take over and that's where everything went downhill fast. She was not very friendly, came and started rushing the whole process. Apparently they didn't have enough of the color I loved and said they had a "new bottle" they found in the back which I checked to make sure it was the same color and they said it was. It wasn't till way later I realized the bottle she was using didn't look the same that was used in my toes and I grew weary. I asked if I could step into the sunlight because it was hard to see the difference in the lighting they had and she didn't let me. Then came the part of my design. It looked horrible because she rushed so fast into it and didn't check with me after doing the first nail to make sure I was satisfied. She just rushed through the whole thing and cured it so by the time I saw what she had done I hated it. I told her I was unhappy and tried to get her to fix it. We agreed she wouldn't charge for the design and I begrudgingly agreed cause I'm not a jerk. Now comes the part where I was so upset to realize when I go to pay over $200 that my nails don't match my toe nail color and they in fact switched the color and tried to pawn it off as the same. I told them this was unfair and they needed to fix this somehow. I was kind, didn't raise my voice or make a scene. I was upset but respectful in my approach and I was gaslit and told there's nothing they could do after spending over $200. I couldn't believe the lack of customer service. I had to push so hard to finally get them to agree to changing it and every secondary option I chose they didn't have in stock. I was sat there wasting my time for over an hour trying to force myself to pick something I didn't really like. Not till I wasted so much time they finally bring out more gel colors and I finally picked one I'm still not happy with but I didn't want a refund because I also didn't want to hurt them. They were so unkind and impatient with me. The only reason why I gave 2 stars is cause Sana my nail tech deserved 5 stars for how sweet and understanding she was. However, I was made to feel like I was the problem when they clearly tried to pull one over me and didn't like that I didn't just accept it and were happy to take my money and send me on my way. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. Overpriced, terrible customer service worst experience at a nail salon. read more

So happy this place opened around the corner from me. The owners are extremely friendly and accommodating, and the staff is professional and timely with the service (which is pretty important for me). I've been twice already and really happy with both jobs on manicures and pedicures. Will have to try gel manicure at some point. Color selection is great and they have some colors that are shiny and longer lasting for a small extra fee. Love the vibe and cleanliness of the salon. Will make this my new go-to spot! read more

This is the best shop to enjoy doing nails. This is the best shop ever I went to. Some of the best things about this place are pretty design, good service, lot of colors, even the hand massage is fabulous!!! This shop makes me want to go get my nails done everyday. This place is between 2-3 stars. On the positive - this place can get you in and out in no time. However, I didn't find the atmosphere to be as clean/tidy as other nail salons I've tried. Also, their prices while comparable to other locations....I felt were high for the quality of service. read more

I'm really grateful to Eve for her care and communication to remedy a disappointing first experience. You can tell she really cares about her clients and wants to deliver the best possible experience. I think they were surprised to see us because it's appointment only but they were nice and accommodating and were able to help us. This place isn't as fancy as other salons meaning there were no massage chairs and fancy spa treatments but I'm happy with the quality of my pedicure. She was quick and efficient but also did a good job. My two colleagues were happy as well (one got a mani/pedi and the other got a mani with extensions).

But, even worse, they say they can do Gel X, but they don't actually have Gel X nails. They just use gel to put on acrylics, which doesn't work. My nails started popping off immediately. Less than a week later and all of my nails have fallen off, so $85 + $20 tip wasted. The pedicure was okay, though I had to file the nails myself when I got home because they were snagging on my sheets. I don't want any DTLA business to disappear, but this one isn't going to survive if they keep declining and disappointing customers.

It was an easy .4 miles from my hotel. The commute was not a bad one. I am a small-town girl that feels very fragile in the big city. I was perfectly comfortable walking to this location, as the foot traffic was heavy. I did call ahead to make an appointment. Once arriving, everyone was very kind. We discussed what I was looking for and they were glad to help. Everyone there had great communication skills and ensured I was aware of my next steps (we had some rearranging that was done in my scheduled appointment). Elaine- she was fabulous! Absolutely fabulous! I wanted to give that lady a hug! She did my pedicure. Bessie (Betsy?)- did my manicure and awesome hard gel extensions. I wish I lived in LA so I could make this my regular spot.

I live in Sacramento but decided to go here to get my nails done since my friend has her nail tech Kevin that does a great job which I had tried once and liked how he did my nails. This time I was expecting for him to do my nails again since my friend had already called them ahead of time to let the owner know that we were both going to be there and requested for the same person to do both our nails. Well, when we arrived Kevin pawned me off to another lady because he said he had another client coming so he decided to work on my friend's nails while she was getting a pedicure at the same time. The funny thing is, they supposedly don't take appointments and it's a first come first serve basis so if we were there first then my understanding is we would both get serviced first. I understand my friend is his regular customer so he would serve her first but I didn't appreciate the fact that he just threw me to some other girl to do my nails instead of asking me if I would prefer to wait for him. Being confused and not wanting to be rude I decided to give the girl a chance. I suppose she felt my resistance and told me not to worry bc she has over 10 years experience. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said she could do it. Well to my disappointment, my nails design did not turn out to look anything like the picture I showed her which didn't surprise me bc she finished my nails pretty fast and charged me 65.00. Aside from my nails, I also got a pedicure and was charged 48.00 when all she did was remove my cuticles, remove my callous and painted my toe nails. She probably charged me extra for the French tip and two flower designs on my toes but even a basic pedicure comes with a foot massage which I didn't even get except she did put lotion on my leg only. Also make sure you check your receipt bc I was told my full set was 65 and pedicure was 48 which would be 113 but my friend paid for both hers and mine and when she recently looked at her receipt it showed 252 which means they charged her 126.00 for each of us when mine was only 113.00. The 252 was not including the tip that she gave separately so just beware. Will I return as a customer? No!
