I've been going to Nail World since I was a senior in high school and even though I have lived in other big cities and traveled around, gotten my nails done at some super fancy places, almost 12 years later, it's still the best mani/pedi place I've ever been to. Even though I only recently moved back to Nashville, I regularly visited Tommy and Lena when I came home for breaks/vacations/etc and what the other reviewers say is absolutely true -- this is the Cheers of Nail Salons and no matter how long it's been since I was last in, Tommy will ask after my mom, her vegetable garden, my sister in law, etc. They really care about their customers and make it like it's a fun chit-chat with friends while getting your nails done. What keeps me coming back here, though is the quality. Nail World was doing dip way before it was cool elsewhere, keeps really quality supplies, and maintains the cleanliness with an insane attention to detail. I have gotten my nails done elsewhere then had to come back here to get Tommy to fix them when someone else messed up shape, the nail bed, etc. Now that I've been consistently back and getting my nails done regularly here again I can say that even with consistently getting them done and keeping them long in an almond shape (which can be hard to maintain without breaking if not done well), my nails are the healthiest they have ever been. (Also helps that I've gotten tons of compliments on my fancy, stylish nails - thanks, Tommy!) This is the only place I'll get a pedicure because they actually nicely clean up my toenails (which I can be a bit neglectful of) AND give every customer relaxing, deep foot/leg massages. Feels like a spa day any time I get a pedicure here. Prices are not as cheap as when I was 18, but I'm kind of willing to go with that because it's the same you'd pay anywhere else in the area and unlike other places, my nails are done perfectly, sustainably, and in a super clean environment. Pro tip: pay in cash for a bit of a 10% discount. My sister in law, who is the pickiest person I know, specifically asks to come here when she is in town Absolutely love this INSTITUTION and thankful it's been around to keep my nails looking fly for so long. read more

It's been about 4 years since I've had my nails done professionally and I am so glad I went to Tommy at Nail World! I came in with an inspo pic and he nailed it. And all within 40 minutes! I have always kinda dreaded getting my nails done because it would often take 1.5 hours or more. Not only did I get a great nail service but it was done in less than 45 mins. Horrible Experience!!!!!!!!!!!! Was told I would be in and out in 1 hour then 2 hours later and multiple mistakes I had to advise that I needed them to fix what was done so I could return to work. I was not offered a discount I was charged full price. I called back after I left so that I did not make a scene due to full salon. I wanted to give them the opportunity to make it right. When I called back I spoke to owner she stated she would redo at no charge at my convenience! When I called back I was told that she told me to come back no later then the following week. LIE!!!!!! This was an awful experience, the man was rude, the salon is dirty, and at one point I watched him pick up a used dirty cuticle trimmer to use on my hands. I had a pedicure and a simple manicure. Everyone is really friendly, and their prices are very reasonable, but the gel manicure I received just wasn't that good (uneven polish, not covering the whole nail on certain fingers). I was desperate for a manicure, so I'm glad they had an open chair for me, but it isn't a place I'd go again. Not a terrible manicure (the inconsistencies are things I notice because they're my nails, but not so bad that I think other people would notice), but not I probably wouldn't go out of my way to go here again. read more

I really had a good experience here, and as a added bonus it's really close to my house. The guy I had gave a great pedicure, one of the best I've had in a while. Gave a great foot massage and was very nice. I can't remember his name but he is from Burma and doesn't understand his coworkers when they are all talking in Vietnamese! They were nice enough to accommodate me as a walk in 30 minutes prior to closing and stayed a few minutes late for me. In a nutshell; I got back in my car and immediately drove to a different salon to get my nails fixed after my visit here. ...After visiting several other nail places in Franklin, and looking through countless reviews, I was relieved to find a location that didn't have a single negative review. Post experience I find this rather...shocking. The experience was truly unpleasant, I felt like a complete nuisance to the woman doing my nails, she seemed more interested in the television and her surroundings than my nails. I had acrylics filled in and the gel was close to a centimeter thick, way outside of my natural nail shape, and when I asked her to file it down more she started from the bottom of the nail, thereby completely ruining the length of the nail I had been growing out in order to switch back to natural nails and polish. My experience was less than ideal not only because of the language barrier, but her general attitude towards me as a paying client was repulsive. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. read more

Tried this salon for the first time this past weekend because it had good reviews (not sure why). I got a set of SNS nails done for the first time. The nail tech used her own long, nasty thumb nail to push all of my cuticles back. She didn't use the tool made for that...she used her gross THUMB NAIL. Not sanitary whatsoever. She did it so roughly that she made 3 of my cuticles bleed and then blamed it on my cuticles being "too thin". Umm...they're supposed to be thin/soft. She was rude and kept complaining that my nails were too short for her liking. Hands down worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. My cuticles are red and infected from it. I wish I could get my money back because I got ripped off with this awful experience. Never going back there again! read more

Horrible! If I could give it zero stars I would! I brought my daughter here to get a full set of acrylic nails for her homecoming dance. The nails that the nail tech put on were uneven and unevenly painted. Polish too heavy on some of the nails and streaky. There was acrylic left under her nails and he didn't put the acrylic on evenly. No base coat put on before the nail polish either. All of her nails actually look like she needs to have fills done already and we just had the nails put on. He was also coughing all over her as he was doing her nails. I would NEVER recommend this nail salon to anyone. Since this salon is close to our house I was hoping it would be our go to place from now on but I will never go back there again. read more

This is the best nail salon. I have tried several over the years and I must say this one does the best job and the people are great!!! I receive compliments all the time on my nails and the prices are very reasonable. They keep up to date with all the latest colors and products. This was the WORST nail place I have ever been in my life! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Dirty, terrible job, ruined my cuticles and had to get my nails fixed in another state and spend two weeks on vacation hoping I did not get an infection from what Nail World did to me! I made a spur of the moment decision to try this place after my hair appointment next door. I was leaving the next day to fly to a wedding out of state and I had time so I decided I would, for the first time in years, actually get a nice manicure (acrylic nails), but going to Nail World was a mistake. There was an employee smoking right in front of the salon door (later I would see the nightmare reviews about him) and that should have been my cue to forget it and go to the salon I trust in Franklin. But, I went in anyway thinking he was on break and I would get someone else, and at first it seemed like I was going to get a girl working there, but she seemed to not want to be bothered. So, wouldn't you know, the employee who had just been smoking walks in and they have him begin doing my nails, which he did WITHOUT EVEN WASHING HIS HANDS FIRST after just smoking! I should have run away, but he started working on my nails so fast I couldn't. It was also so crowded in there I felt like I couldn't say anything because it was too late and I didn't want to make a scene. I should have said something, but Tommy was sitting right there and said nothing to him, so I just sat there and hoped for the best, though I was panicking inside the whole time. The panic turned out to be warranted because what I got was a nightmare that lasted two weeks! To begin with he did not push my cuticles down (which I remember every other salon ever doing), but I thought maybe there was a reason for that. Well, what happened was he ended up putting the gel nails OVER my cuticles (which I wasn't fully aware of until I went to get them fixed out of state). When everything was done I paid WAY to much for a terrible job done, and after paying and getting to my car I immediately noticed a chip in one nail and a split in the other. I figured by that point I would just have the place I trust in the state I was going to (where I am originally from) fix my nails. By the next day the nails had gotten worse, and by the time I was able to go to the out of state salon it was two days after I had my nails done by Nail World but they looked like they had been done 3 weeks before! My sister couldn't believe how bad they were. So, I go into the salon I know in the state the wedding is in thinking they could quick fix my nails, but I can see they are all horrified and do not know what to do. They proceeded to tell me because he put the nails over my cuticles he damaged them and it was going to be very hard to get them off and hopefully they could do it without damaging them further. They had to be VERY careful removing the gel from the cuticles and completely take off the nails and re-do them. Because the man at Nail World damaged my cuticles so bad the whole time the staff had to work slow and the whole time were very hesitant and worried to do this as the damage made my cuticles so thin that they bled. They were worried I might get an infection from the damage and kept having to put something to stop the bleeding and prevent an infection, and they told me to be sure to put hydrogen peroxide or something on for a few days to avoid an infection. It took OVER TWO HOURS to remove and re-do my nails because of the damage caused by Nail World, and I ended up being late to the rehearsal dinner since it took so much longer than I expected to fix my nails. The salon that fixed them did a wonderful job, but it was a slow and painful process and my cuticles remained thin and painful for a few days, with a couple spots almost bleeding for a couple of days. I spent my entire two week trip away from home putting something on my cuticles and watching for an infection. Luckily I did not get an infection, but my cuticles took the whole trip to heal. And, let me say that the nails done by the people who did my nails correctly, fixing the disaster of Nail World, lasted 3 weeks, not 3 minutes, like they should! On a side note, I had a feeling the whole time I was in Nail World that because I was not a regular there I was given the inexperienced person and that they were joking and giggling about it the whole time I was there. Very Rude! Please note I rarely take the time to write reviews unless I get excellent service or feel I need to Warn others to Stay Away from somewhere. I honestly don't know how this place gets good reviews, except that Tommy must be good, so I felt the truth about this place needs to be told to warn others. Again, DO NOT GO HERE and if you do, DO NOT LET THE DIRTY CIGARETTE SMOKER DO YOUR NAILS (though I would hope he would be fired by now since this was over a year ago)! read more

was in town for a wedding and needed my nails done; they were very accommodating: i was taken 15 minutes before it was supposed to close - Sandy (I think that was her name) was my technician and she took the effort and time to give me both a mani and pedi, without rushing; Lena, stayed around to keep the salon open, just for me. Both of them were friendly and helped me to still feel pampered (and not guilty at all for keeping them overtime). Awful experience. I got a gel manicure done and he took 15 minutes on it leaving no time for drying. It has been four days since I got this manicure and it is already chipping off. I was also disappointed in how they do their pricing. I was told AFTER my manicure that there is an extra $20 charge whenever you get gel. This price was not listed anywhere so I felt very taken advantage of. I will not be going back there the next time I need a service. read more

The whole staff is helpful and friendly. I booked a 6:00 deluxe mani/pedi for two and even though they closed at 7:00, we got AMAZING rock star service. They took their time and we were very happy. Nobody left until we finished at 7:45 well past closing time. Nobody made us feel rushed! The little girl I took even messed up one of her nails and the tech fixed it for her even though she was supposed to be leaving. They are a fun, kind and caring staff. I'm sure this place is good bc I was referred to it and it has raving reviews, but I had the WORST experience with the man who did my nails, and for that reason, I'll never be back. Please avoid the man with the bleached faux hawk type hair style. He didn't remove all of my gel polish, which was partially probably bc he did a poor job wrapping my nails in foil. I asked if he could re-soak my nails in acetone, and begrudgingly he did. I came in so they could remove my gel and do a manicure, so removing all of the old nail polish is to be expected. I feel like this wasn't too much to ask. It was so bad that you could still see the old nail polish! Then, he didn't shape my nails and left them jagged and rough at the edges and barely buffed. It was so bad that when he got up to get something, I ended up buffing them myself so my nails could be smooth. I'm not even a finicky person when it comes to my nails, but this guy struggled with the basics. It was such an unfortunate experience. I would've loved to make this my go-to place since it's so close to work and bc the other employees were so friendly, but this left such a bad taste in my mouth that I'll never be back. read more
