I usually don't stop at random salons as a spur of the moment type of thing, but my fill appointment at my regular salon was not until this Wednesday and I had a nail ripping off i needed repaired before the Drake concert on Sunday so i stopped in here to get a polish change and a nail repair. I payed $20.00 with tip to get my nails painted and have some woman put a little super glue on my broken nail instead of taking the time to actually repair it causing it to rip off a few hours after the service. If I wanted someone to superglue my nail I could've done that at home by myself for free. I came for a repair and what they did was the equivalent of putting a band-aid on a bullet wound. I gave two stars instead of one because the polish turned out decent. I would not recommend. I cannot wait until Wednesday when I can go to my regular salon and actually be taken care of. read more

11/13/2020 This review has nothing to do with the service I received from my nail techs. This review has to do with the elderly Caucasian hair dresser (I did not catch her name) who was BEYOND inappropriate and unprofessional and outright terrible. Regardless of views/beliefs/ideals/morals the way she conducted herself AS THE EMPLOYEE towards customers was apaling! A customer was receiving a manicure and when finished he addressed the employee about her inappropriate conversations with her client about racist remarks and hate speak towards those who voted for Biden (just to clarify my political views have nothing to do with my stance on how this was handled, and to be blunt because of my personal health and being terminally sick with cancer I did not register to vote this election because I didn't even know if I'd still be around to do so... regardless) this customer was addressing the employee and not once did she take ownership for her inappropriate remarks, no apologies, no actions to make matters right, instead she yelled at him to get the hell out and after he left she continued to trash talk with customers AND another hair dresser! This establishment should not only be ashamed but should be embarrassed and held responsible for their blatant disregard and care for their clients! The employee should have been removed for her behavior instead of being allowed to fuel negativity and snarky remarks to others! I personally also made a remark to her that her continuing to talk trash after the customer left was "not necessary and just rude and mean" and she huffed and scowled at me like a teenager instead of again apologizing and realizing she AS THE EMPLOYEE was completely in the wrong. Everyone is entitled to their views beliefs and politics but there is a time and a place for those conversations in such hate (truly they shouldn't be on any spectrum but regardless) and to do so in a place of work and a place for customers to come to relax and be serviced and pampered and then to continue with the hate speech and nasty attitude is just not acceptable. I hope others will read this review and think twice before giving business to this establishment. And I hope the employees realize the magnitude of their actions today and how very very very much in the wrong they were! Lastly I hope the customer who was wronged so terribly sees this and knows his pain was heard by someone in there today when nobody in the establishment stood by him to reprimand the employee on his behalf. Staying near the Strip, I drove a ways off to get away from the "tourist" prices. This place isn't the best looking, as it is old and they are not exactly crowded during the day. You can expect to watch the latest soap operas or game shows during your manicure. Atmoshphere aside, it is clean and they are friendly. They seemed genuinely happy to have my business and chatted pleasantly. I got a fill with pink French tips. It looks great. My first and last time coming to this place. The nail tech that worked on my mom and me was on a FaceTime call nearly the entire time. She had no interest in making us feel welcomed or comfortable and was easily distracted by her call causing her to "burn" my mom's pinky with the Dremel. When she got started on my fills, she basically rushed through it leaving some of the gel polish from the previous time I got my nails done. Once her call ended, she stopped working on my nails several time so she could search a website on her phone. As the day wore on, the polish has started to "bubble" so I'm not confident this will last through the week. I've gotta say, this was the filthiest nail salon I've ever seen! Had I noticed the filth before, I would have taken my mom elsewhere. Admittedly, I was originally more focused on the lack of customer service and the fact that she remained on the video call. It wasn't until I went to get a chair for me to sit on that I noticed there were nail clippings on her work station and floor (there was hair in the floor, too). The chair itself was dusty from nail dust as well. The blue towel the nail tech used for my mom was the same towel she used with me! She told us to wipe our nail dust away from the table. When I got to looking at the blue towel when she was working on me, it was evident that same towel had been used for multiple people. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few days, at least. The sink was gross and honestly, made me sick to think we gave this place a chance. We're not normally vocal about negative experiences unless it's really bad. This experience was the worst I've ever had at a nail salon. It's not like they were busy, either. There were two nail techs, one who was with a customer and the other who worked on us. When we got there, she was just sitting at her station on her phone not doing anything. There is no reason she couldn't clean and disinfect the work station and surrounding area. She could have done the same for the restroom- but no. It was more important to have a FaceTime conversation with someone than it was to take pride in the work environment or to show new customers a little appreciation. read more

Terrible. I was a walk in for gel pedicure and full set. Victor did my nails, his drill kept burning my finger I kept having to ask him to pause because it was burning. Once the acrylic was done and I washed my hands prior to polish I noticed a TON of acrylic still on the sides of my fingers that needed cleaned up, not to mention there were stringy pieces dangling from underside my nail. I went back to finish the polish and asked that he clean the areas up. He decided it was time for my pedicure and nails would be finished after. Pedicure experience was fine except there's all kinds of polish left over on the sides of my toes. It honestly looks like a child painted my toes. Pedicure finishes and the guy is like okay you're good to go. I mention that my nails aren't finished. He goes to talk to Victor who's doing someone else's nails at this point. Victor told him my nails were finished. There wasn't even paint on them. I show this new guy the strings hanging from the drilling and the acrylic that is overhanging my nail and on my finger. He "cleans" up the job and sloppily paints my nails. He didn't get the acrylic off the edges of my fingers and it's not an even coat of paint. For some reason they also didn't take the acrylic down to the bottom of my nail beds so it looks like I've already got a few days growth. I was there about 4 hours at that point so I was just done. Very very upset and disappointed. Wasted $80 on a hack job that I'll have to get fixed elsewhere. read more

On a whim on a Sunday afternoon my boyfriend decided at 5 pm a manicure and pedicure sounded nice. Well they always sound nice but on a Sunday afternoon most of the places we usually go to were closed or closing. We headed towards the Eastside because we planned on eating in Chinatown after. After trying to go to several places who either were closing or busy with other customers. We finally came to Nail Tips and they were one of the last places open. As soon as we entered there were plenty of staff standing inside. They all gave us the death stare and started speaking Vietnamese immediately. Not a very welcoming vibe. My boyfriend had went to the pedicure chair and I sat down to have a gel mani. I thought the nail tech had did an ok job but she didn't clean my nails and remove all the excess around the way it should have been done. The gel on my nails also started to peel away and chip within a week and was very uneven. My boyfriends pedicure was actually done pretty nice but when the lady did his nails she cut him pretty bad and his entire nail was a bloody mess. I didn't even think to get a photo but I should have. Between the staff speaking in a foreign language the entire time and the very unwelcome entrance. I wouldn't step foot in this place. Next time we'll stick to the places we know and wait for a better time. read more

This is the worst pedicure experience I have ever had and I have had them for 10 years now! Quite honestly I'm shocked that the reviews were still as good as they are. Nevermind the fact that she spent 3x more time on my right leg than my left which I wanted to let her know about but kept quiet instead, then she hanks out my "ingrown" toe nail which has never bothered me in my life and made me bleed on 2 of my toe nails. I asked her to not even bother with the other foot because that was extremely painful! Then she poured alcohol on it to make it burn ! Wtf! That was about 9 hours ago and although the picture doesn't show very well that it's beginning to get infected, I am in a lot of pain! I have NEVER had anything like this happen and I have never posted a negative review but you all need to know to AVOID THIS PLACE. This has to be the worst place to go to on a Sunday at 5. Victor messed my nails up so bad. If I didn't remove the paint and fix them I would post a picture. I would give no starts if possible. When I first arrived the vibe was ok; the Vietnamese people were pretty stand off ish, but the older woman who worked in their hair salon was very cheery. I went in for a pedicure, even opted for the "Deluxe" pedi for $35! Worst decision ever. While one lady was working on my feet another came up to, practically touching my face pointing at my dimple piercings and laughing to some other woman in their language. I could have lived with that.... What got me was the end. They took me to let my toes dry under the lamp and I wasn't sitting there for more than 10 minutes and the lady comes over and tells me "$35 cash?" I said "no, card." She said ok and just stood there. So, apparently it's time for me to pay... She takes my card and swipes it. I was already irritated with the atmosphere and how much they were rushing me, but THEN this lady has the nerve to ask me, across the counter and across the table I was sitting at (in ear shot of everyone mind you) "How much tip? Cash or card?" Like, not only did you rush the shit outta me, she's basically demanding her tip. I said cash. NOW she tells me to go over to her to put my pin # in. My toes are STILL not dry. It was so irritating. I put my pin in, signed the stupid receipt, and told them "it's very rude of you guys to rush customers out the door so fast" she smiles... After I got my receipt she's staring at me waiting for her tip, I did not give her anything. I'm glad I didn't. I got outside to see her work and it was atrocious! Up close you can see the sides of the nails she missed, the crooked ass cut job and excess paint left on the side of my big toes! Not only that, my feet felt even more dry than when I first got there! They were a little dry prior, but when I got home and saw the bottom.... I couldn't believe it. Very unprofessional salon. I went here for a blow dry by Helen. First off, he didn't start my hair till an hour after my scheduled appointment time because there were other people in line that had shorter hair which I guess would take a shorter time. Secondly, the woman that washed my hair had no clue what she was doing ... She got my hair tangled in knots and put a smelly and dirty looking towel over my head as I waited for Helen to begin my hair. And lastly, Helen's blow drying skills were that of a 5 year old. He had no idea how to blow dry curly hair. I was frustrated and disgusted as he ate and did my hair at the same time. Don't recommend this place to anyone. read more
