The staff is always so friendly and accommodating and always makes time for me even in their busy schedule! They do fill up on weekends and local school breaks so having an appointment especially if you want a specific person to do your nails is recommended. The stylist hardly looked at me during treatment, and babbled with her co-worker the entire time. She nearly scorched my feet with the hot water in tub- I had to pull them out and yell, "Ouch!" She didn't provide anywhere near the thorough service that I received on first visit, and Ive been there half dozen times. She's grumpy and beyond rude:/ The salon is still super clean, offers quality products and a variety of paint, and most employees are most welcoming. What I love is that they do both at once if they are able. So while I was getting a pedicure, someone was sitting beside me doing my manicure. I asked my mother-in-law if she knew a good spot for a mani/pedi I could get before the wedding. She said, "Oh I know JUST the place." Immediately when I walked in, I knew I was not in a "typical" nail salon. Main Street Nail Studio feels more like a relaxed wellness center with the vibes of a cozy café. It is spacious, warm, and comforting. Such a welcomed contrast from other salons where it can feel like a crowded factory line of sardine-packed rows of chairs. Here, I felt like I was resting in an easy chair in the corner of my own living room. Joslyn did both my pedicure and manicure. She is a pro. I asked for a light pink- but not too pink, and she pulled four different options to try. Throughout the pedicure, she told me exactly what was in each of the scrubs and explained why each treatment was being used. She spent extra time working around every corner of my toes and feet. My feet are so soft now- my toes feel like tiny pillows and my heels like they are covered in satin. The manicure was just as thorough- Joslyn worked with care on shaping my nails beautifully and painted three coats of polish with precision. I've never had a pedicure or manicure done with such attention to detail, and I've certainly never had one that looks this good a few days later. She is a true artist! Throughout the whole treatment, I enjoyed talked with Joslyn about her experiences as a woman, a mother, a teacher, a community builder, and a creative. I realize that "doing nails" is just one thing that she does- but seeing the way she does that, I know Joslyn would have glowing Yelp reviews for the rest of it, too. All in all, Marlene, Joslyn, and everyone else at Main Street Nail Studio have created a lovely, one of a kind salon environment. In a world of conveyer belt nail salons, this one is a shining gem. They are quick, clean, kind, and even offer you drinks from their Tea Time shop next door while you are there. I have not left this nail salon for good reason. They do exactly what I ask for, if I don't like my nails they will fix them, they do not cut me with any tools, they are professional, efficient, and understanding. They raised their prices recently as they should. They are worth the service they provide. Everyone there is extremely hardworking there, the type of handwork that should deserve praise.
