We had great foot and leg massages. No wait and very careful and considerate. I felt calm and happy the whole visit. My friend loved the hot towel.

before the process, simple pedicure is all.

So I had a little time to kill so I decided to come here because, parking is convenient and I have been here before. Well first of all the guy who did the pedicure did not soak my feet long enough to soften the cuticles yet started to scrape them and then cut them far to close. The filing was rough and hurt my toes. I kept saying, ouch and that it hurt. At one point I literally pulled my foot out of his hand, OUCH. I almost walked out but kept thinking that it would have been too awkward. I won't let him do my feet ever again and may not even come back here. Nope, price was ok but the pain was not!!!

rather than soaking the nail to remove she used another fake nail, dug under neath the nail to remove her acrylic nails

If I could leave a 0 star I would. My girlfriend got home from receiving service from this chop shop nail salon with her nail looking like this. She had acrylic nails done with them prior and she wanted to remove this set because her fake nail had popped off one of her fingers and her natural nails were growing long underneath because when they did her first set they didn't trim her natural nail, so she wanted to get a new set start over and trim her nails for the new set. During the removal process rather than soaking the nail to remove it the nail tech got another fake nail she had in her kit and used that to dig under her nails to remove the acrylic nails making it an uncomfortable/painful experience. After she dug into my gfs thumb tho she ended up hurting her natural nail, making it look like the photo. And we're assuming the owner of the chop shop came up to her and told her it was actually her fault she got them removed too soon. She had gotten a fill with them 2/26 and it doesn't matter a removal shouldn't have this result, they can't justify ripping the nails off her for the removal process, rather than soaking them off and followed with a drill like she usually gets done. She wanted to leave and not finish removing the acrylic off the other hand but the nail tech insisted and did it the proper way. Soaking it, followed with the drill. (Even still they didn't finish the job with that, they did a half job on it) During that process rather than being apologetic multiple people came up to her telling her the same thing it was her fault she got them removed too soon and to get dip instead next time. They're the "professionals" if they felt this way inform her. After this they still ended up charging her for the service and when she was walking out the owner told her "get dip nail instead next time". When she got home, I saw what happened, I immediately called the business asking why they charged her for the service when her nail looked the way it did and he kept yelling at me to come to his shop (like he was challenging me to a fight? Was definitely a strange way for an owner to handle this situation) he also said that they only charged her for labor for removing the nail. And that my gf insisted on getting her nails done so it's her fault (she walked in the previous day and made an appointment, they got the date set. That's insisting?) . If they had informed her, it's still too soon let's not go through with this. She wouldn't argue with them. I don't understand how they can justify it's her fault and still charge her for the service,. They don't care for their clients safety.

Cuticles are a bit dry and messy

Just got my first set of acrylics here and I'm obsessed! For reference my nails were a mess before this and my ring finger was broken in half with nail bed showing and now it looks perfect. I wanted a sort of messy star design (showed a picture) and I love how it came out. The only thing I would have liked was for the woman who did my nails to have cleaned up my polish from my last manicure a little better as there's still some blue on my cuticles. I also would have liked her to clean up my nail beds a little better as I still have some dead skin but that's the only reason for 4 stars as I think she did a great job everywhere else. They've changed their name to Nail Pro and Spa btw!

    Cuticles bleeding and uneven coat

My friend had a nice woman and she did a nice job. I had a terrible experience. The man that did my nails told me my hands and nails were dry and told me to do the gel, ultimately causing me to spend 15 more dollars I didn't want to spend. He was very rough and put my hands in cold dirty water. He cut my cuticles too much and caused MULTIPLE of my fingers to bleed. He then insulted my hands again calling them dry and told me I need to come in in 10 days so that he can fix my cuticles again (absolutely not). They have a lot of availability for a reason. Do not go here.

Very nice, fast, and efficient staff. My complaint is with the nail product/application. My gel manicure chipped the same day I got my nails done and started peeling off 4 days after I got my nails done. Maybe some of their polishes are old?

. Pinky is bleeding, cuticles uneven, messy and sloppy. Horrible job

Just walked out the salon and looked at my $26 gel manicure in the sunlight. Pinky is bleeding, cuticles uneven, messy and sloppy. Horrible job .. I posted pictures I took right after. Disgusting job

I am very fond of this place. Sometimes if you are having a crappy day, this is exactly what you need. I'm having my feet done now. For what it's worth, I am a straight dude with wife and child. My son is getting his feet done too.

The pedicure itself is probably an 8/10, since the color doesn't go all the way to the edges of the nails.

She's very hip and does an amazing job w/short edgy cuts. If you want to get risky with a cut and color she's happy to take you there. (While still making you and your hair look great!) What makes her such a pro is that she listens to what the client wants while taking into consideration their features and lifestyle and what would work best for them. She works hard to incorporate all of these elements into your cut/ color b/c Elise knows giving an amazing haircut is only half the battle. She understands the real challenge is making the cut easy for the client to maintain and looking good once they walk out the door. This is what makes Elise such a stand out in her field and invaluable stylist. She gives terrific haircuts, but more importantly, she educates you on how to maintain your cut so it still looks "fleek" when you go home and style it on your own! And isn't that the whole point!? To look good EVERY DAY, not just on the days you leave the salon? Thanks Elise! See ya soon!

V.I.P. Nails--Nailed it Last Saturday, April 12th, I was…read moredue for a manicure. I hadn't been in a New England nail salon in over 7 years. Having lived in Texas for the past 7 years, where there is an overwhelming need for nail salons and one about every two blocks, I was excited to drive past V.I.P. Nails on my way back to the UMASS campus. V.I.P. Nails is located next to the Big Y on University Drive, about a 5-minute drive from campus depending on traffic. The morning before Extravaganja, proved a longer drive for me. I was still excited when I walked into V.I.P. Nails. I was greeted instantly and directed to the 3 walls of possible colors. I must say--they have a great selection. I was directed to table 3, where I would be having my manicure. A manicure costs $14 at V.I.P. nails, an average price--and worth it I must say (continue reading). Once my manicurist sat down I posed the question--"Is it possible to have butterfly nail art on top of my color?" "Of course," she replied. This was an excellent start. I sat back and began my experience at V.I.P. Nails. Pros: - My manicurist, in particular, was the best I've had in a long time. It began the way it always does--nail filing. Honestly, this act has brought be shivers and goose bumps without fail. However, she was gentle and the plasma screen TV with the TLC channel (a guilty pleasure for any woman in a nail salon) eased me past this part. After shaping my nails and prepping them for color, she massaged my hands and arms. This is rare--often the "massages" given at nail salons are sub-par. However, she not only spent over a minute massaging each hand, she spent a minute on each arm and concluded by adding hot towels into the mix! - Now onto color. The desks at V.I.P. nails secured my return visit. I had never seen such an innovative item! My side of the table, facing my manicurist had two secret holes on for my hands. The nail drier is right there! More than typically, the driers are towards the front, where if you had gotten a pedicure, you would have to wobble over there. But the driers where right there, making it almost a machine process of drying, passing hand for my paint, drying, cover polish, drying, nail art, drying. It was amazing! - The nail art. Another manicurist, the nail art specialist, took over after my initial color was done. This woman did a remarkable job. She asked if I could show her a photo on my phone of what I wanted. I thought this was great costumer service. I showed her and she did exactly that--the butterflies on my nails look perfect. (Picture attached). - The overall look of the place was polished. The furniture was brand-new, not to mention stylish and comfortable. The ambiance of the place is friendly and welcoming. They have a bowl of candy and not to mention the three walls covered from top to bottom in color options. Cons: - I will admit to a few things that caused me discomfort. Kiss FM. Perhaps this is a personal thing but I cannot stand Kiss FM--which was the only thing playing in V.I.P. Nails when I was a client. The nonstop Taylor Swift to Dub step to Katy Perry to Robin Thicke was too much. But with the balance of the muted TLC programming, I survived! - Their website should advertise that they prefer cash. As a nail salon customer, I should know this already. However, my mind aside, paying and "tipping" with a card isn't the best thing for a nail salon. Seeing that the tips don't go directly to the people I wanted them too. Shoulda brought cash!

I came to VIP today after confusing the time at my regular place. I needed a soak off and new gel…read moremanicure. They took me as a walk in right away and I was very pleased with the attention to detail and quality of the work. They used a polish-like treatment to remove the old gel polish, which was interesting. It peeled up on its own and there was less scraping/filing. Thank you VIP!
