The WORST gel manicure I've ever gotten. The nail Tech cut all my nails too short, then filed them so close to the skin my pinky started bleeding. I had to ask her 3 times to stop filing my pinky nail bc it was cut & bleeding. I asked for almond shaped nails, after filing my nail down to nothing she figured out she doesn't know how to do almond. So I said fine do round- apparently square is all she knows. At this point I take the file myself & shape my own nails- the owner just walks in the back room (try taking over or training your technician properly!) The craziest part is they wanted to charge me! I have been going to this nail salon for over 10 years and they show no care towards me as loyal client, extremely disappointed in the salon. I went in this month for a manicure, showing a picture of what I want. Completely butchered my nail shape and color, and made my cuticles bleed. Not to mention, he was late to the appointment and then when his next appointment showed up, he completely rushed me and everything was done so rushed and horribly. After paying and TIPPING, I asked for something to be fixed because how horrible the nails turned out after paying $70 and immediately women continued to talk about me and mock me in Spanish right in front of me, not knowing I can fully understand Spanish and knew everything they were saying. And the person who did my nails was EXTREMELY cold and rude to me. Completely unprofessional and HORRIBLE nail job. Despite having average experiences in past, I continued to show my loyalty to them as a customer and never felt anything reciprocated. Felt so underappreciated. Talking bad about your customers in front of them in another language is not acceptable, and hope they see that people actually understand what you're saying nowadays! And if we are unhappy with nail job, please listen and fix. Never recommend this salon, 0/5 for me. read more

Terrible nail salon. Sometimes they are very rough when doing a pedicure and do not even apologize when they cut you. I went in for a pedicure and was told it would be a 10 to 15 minute wait. I sat in the pedicure chair for over half an hour and still did not have anyone come over to me. I left and will not be going back there. If giving 0 stars was an option, that's what I would give. The service at this salon is probably the most awful that I have ever experienced. The funny thing is that the salon is quite large with alot of employees on staff. I had an appointment for 6pm for a manicure and pedicure, and they did not begin my pedicure until 6:40, keeping me waiting for 40 mins. Two other people with appts walked out while I was waiting to be seated because they had also been waiting for quite awhile. The woman doing my pedicure had no idea what she was doing, and proceeded to file my nails down so short that it actually hurt. I told her I no longer wanted a pedicure, and once I said that, they sent a different nail tech over to finish my pedicure. I had called in advance to ask if this salon provided the dip powder manicure, which they assured that they did. After my pedicure the nail tech asked what kind of manicure I wanted, and then told me they didn't provide dip manicures. I said it was fine and I would just do a gel manicure until they sent the same original nail tech over who botched my pedicure. I could hear two other workers speaking in Spanish saying that the woman about to do my nails didn't have her license. I decided I would not be paying for a manicure by someone who was not a professional, I could just do it myself if that's the case. When paying for my pedicure, a different tech rang me up, and I asked her to speak to the owner. She tried to avoid my question so I said louder "may I speak to the owner?" She proceeded to tell me that she would do my manicure. I told her I didn't want a manicure I wanted to speak to the owner. She walked away, sat down and continued working on her client. She never acknowledged my request further. The pedicure I received was sub par, and the service is awful. In my opinion, there is far too much competition to treat customers like this. If you read my previous review you'll see that I had a gel manicure, and within hours it began to fall apart. I went back next day and showed them and without hesitation they repaired it. It appeared to be much better. But just two days later it happened again and every single nail cracked, chipped and or lifted. Today, just about 1 week later the whole manicure is destroyed. I'm not sure what the problem was. I have gone there many times and never had this problem. For $35 though, this did upset me. The salon is very modern and clean almost to the point of sterile in feeling, but I dig that modern vibe. My appointment was in the morning so the salon was relatively quiet and there were a lot of employees which tells me this place must get very busy. The technician I had was watching the girls clean and cutting her eyes back and forth in a weirdly over the top way of scrutinizing their work...at one point she asked me what race I was and if I could understand what her employers were chatting about. It was super awkward and no one seemed happy there. As much as the nails came out great- I don't plan on going back. I don't need everyone to know my name and chat it up with me, but feeling the unhappy vibe was stressful! I've been going here for years and they "know me" but sometimes they annoy me. I ALWAYS tip 20-25% no matter what and I am usually pleasant. They have a points card which I do like and they're very clean. However, today I had an appointment for a powder gel mani with Miki and a reg pedicure with whoever and it was only ok. they made me wait 40 minutes after the mani before the pedi because they got greedy and took too many walk ins. Seriously? Not even the first time. I complained and asked if I should come back another time (aka go across the street to Magic nails) and I just got told "I didn't realize you were waiting that long, sorry" like ok there's literally a clock on the wall honey They also didn't give me a massage after a manicure another time and still didn't even after I jokingly said with a smile "where's my massage?" Like some of the women working there won't even ask a follow up question to see if everything is good. (Language barrier?) Over the holidays they didn't give me the calendar/coupon book that they distribute. I can tell that they don't really appreciate my business. I realize I'm not there every week and I don't upgrade a lot but I'm there at least once or twice a month for a mani/pedi. Theres a million nail salons around here so I think I am going to find something new and maybe use them as a back up from now on since I am clearly not very valued business. read more

Today i had an appointment for a refill with sean and a pedicure. My pedicure started out fine but right before she started doing the polish i was told to get up and start my refill with someone else, a lady that was not sean. As i was getting my refill i was told to sit in such an uncomfortable position so that they could paint my toes at the same time. when i expressed that my back and legs were in pain they just laughed. Definitely not the relaxing experience it should have been. I could tell the woman doing my refill was rushing and the finished product reflected that. I decided to try Nail Passion because it is close to my office and have later hours and holiday/weekend hours that work. I made an appointment and when I arrived they seemed very confused and short with me. I waited a few minutes and then was asked to sit in a fair, where I waited maybe another ten minutes. Angelica did a very thorough job on my spa pedicure (although for a spa pedicure the massage was a bit short). I had a regular manicure which was again thorough. Went here off a suggestion from a friend and I couldn't be happier! The gentleman (possibly the owner) who did my nails was clean, efficient and friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted. My nails came out exactly how I was picturing in my head. Most nail places see the photo of the nails you want and then don't look again. The gentleman double checked the photo multiple times to get it right! Very happy!! I am moving to the area soon and this is deff where I will be getting my nails done from now on! read more

Sarah, Gin, & Abby are always my go to's! You should call for an appointment, as they are usually busy every day of the week. I usually get a shellac manicure and a pedicure. I like that they use plastic bags over the pedicure station tubs. They always do a great job with my nails, and the prices are fair. However, I am always nervous when I call to make an appointment that they will actually have my appointment for the correct time and date! Even if you show up on time, be prepared to wait! Sometimes they take you exactly during your appointment time, other times it could be 10+ minutes after your appointment time. read more

I used to frequent this place for years. When they went under renovations I went elsewhere till they reopened. My first visit after their renovation it was obvious that they expanded so they had more room to just get people through like an assembly line. I started going elsewhere again. Well today my friend and I decided we would give them another try. We made appointments for mani pedis with her young daughter for 1130. They didn't get us in chairs for at least 15 minutes and then I continued to sit there for another half hour with my feet soaking in cold water till someone could get to me. In between this time they had other appointments and walk ins show up and they just kept taking people yet I had yet to be helped. I informed them it had been 45 minutes since my appointment time and I still hadn't been helped. They started yapping to each other in non-English and about 10 minutes later I was helped. We said to hell with our manicures and to hell with this place. I will not be back. This is no way to run a business or keep customers. read more

I cannot believe how rudely I was treated here today. I clearly stated I wanted a mani/pedi/wax when I arrived. I was immediately sat and received my pedi, which was great. Shortly after I had my wax, which was fine as well. During this time the salon started getting busy, but not too crazy. I waited for a little after my wax, and then Mimi approached me to tell me they could not do a manicure for me, only a polish change. I asked why, and she replied they were too busy. I was there before any of the people waiting so why would they not accommodate me? Are the other clients more important? I said I would just pay and leave then, and Mimi got huffy and said fine she'd do the manicure. Like I was being unreasonable for requesting the manicure I clearly said I wanted when I arrived. She rushed through the mani and rolled her eyes at me numerous times. I felt humiliated and embarrassed the entire time. It was the shoddiest manicure I ever received. Two nails had dents and one had a bubble in the polish. I just wanted to get the hell out of there so I didn't bother asking her to fix it. How dare you treat people this way! I am a working mom of two young children and today was the first time in months that I was able to treat myself to a little pampering. Instead I left angry and humiliated with a shoddy dented manicure. The pedicure chairs are great (very comfortable and new) and there are a couple of TVs. I would say the best part is the free wifi, but my pedicure was excellent. They were very thorough! Myself and many of my family members have been patrons of Nail Passion for many years, and I've never had such a horrible experience at any salon as I did here recently. For my wedding, I got a gel tip manicure. It was $60 (even though they had told me over the phone that it would be $50), but when I had gotten this manicure at Nails Show in Hillsdale years ago, it lasted me for months without incident. Two days after I got the manicure, and the morning of my wedding, two of the nails completely fell off. This is highly unusual for this manucure in general, but especially because I was doing nothing strenuous with my hands. Because I was getting married in few hours, I didn't have time to go back and get it fixed so I had to resort to drugstore nails. When I called Nail Passion, the owner was extremely rude and finally said I could come in whenever and get it fixed and he'd give me the full refund. The day after the wedding I went back to get it fixed. Not only was the owner (the only gentleman that works there) extremely rude to myself and my mother, openly muttering about us in both english and Korean, he also refused to give me the refund he'd promised in the end. He finally said he'd give a half refund and I was astonished. It's simply poor business sense. The terrible manicure would have been made up for if the customer service was handled properly. I've spoken to many people since about this salon and many have said the same thing, the owner has run this place down and many have stopped being patrons because of his utter disregard for the customer. I understand Spanish fluently and many of his workers were speaking openly to each other in Spanish about how horrible he is and how they hate working for him. After fixing my nail, the entire manicure had fallen off within one week. The owner attempted to blame me, saying that it was something I did, but a regular manicure with just nail polish would've lasted me longer. I haven't tried too many nail salons so I don't have that much to go by, however I know how long a gel manicure is supposed to last. I have been going to the same nail salon for quite some time so I was just trying to find something different. The inside of this salon is beautiful. There's a lot of space and they have fans going and the doors open so if it's a nice day, it's nice to get fresh air. I was pleasantly surprised by the blues they had available. My favorite color is blue and often times it is difficult to find a nail salon with that many varieties of blue to choose from. The manicure itself was very relaxing, I got the massage at the end and was pleased. Although the color was perfect, I would have liked if she put just one more coat on, because I could still see through my nails when I held them up. Not even 5 days later the nails at the end started to chip. I was very upset and went back to have them repair the nail. They took me right away with no problem. The next day another nail began to chip and now I exactly two weeks later, 4 of my nails are chipped and some are even starting to peel up. I am very disappointed because I have had some gel manicures that have lasted 3+ weeks. I will not be returning to this nail salon. Still on my quest to find more blues! read more

Like every nail salon - it all depends on who you get. With that said, I have had a great experiences here for the past few years (I switched from another salon only because this was so close to my house) & it's been great as far as my nails (color gel/shalac polish lasts long). However, my 2 star rating is due to recently - this salon has been overbooking. A salon that once felt friendly, relaxing & where you felt like a valued customer - it has changed a lot. I thought I was the only one that was having an issue with my appointments (here are a few examples of what has happened: 1. long wait time even though I had an appointment, 2. being told to come "right now" & then having to sit there & wait for 20+ minutes, 3. being told the manicurist I specifically asked for an appointment with was actually not available once I arrived, 4. being told I can wait 30 minutes or come back - really!). If this happened once or twice, fine but this has been happening every time for the past 5 months. And it's not just me - every time I'm sitting there, customers (who are regulars) seem to be complaining about the same thing. One customer finally exploded and said, "This is constantly happening. My time is valuable. Be honest with the time you have available" and she walked out. So much for getting a relaxing, stress free manicure. I feel stressed every time I am going to my appointment because I'm afraid I'm going to have an issue, or I'm going to hear customers complaining. So unless you have the time to be given the run around, or have time to sit around & wait or don't mind who does your nails & don't mind listening to all the frustrated customers - definitely go here. But if you don't want to put up with this nonsense search for a new salon. That's exactly what I'm in the process of doing. A true shame, because I really enjoyed going here, so close to home and my nails used to come out great. read more

Horrible Experience!! Don't waste your time! They have a horrible selection of Gel Powder. Don't offer if you don't have much. The person doing my nails did not even know how to file even... another lady had to come over and help. While applying the gel powder she missed a step (I've been getting gel powder for 3 years). One hand is done correctly and the other is not. I confronted her that it was being done wrong and she said let her do her job.. i am just saying the customer should be right or be acknowledged properly. Then at 12:45 I told her I had to leave by 1 to go back to work( mind you I got here at 11:30) to go back to work and she kept saying she has a job too.. isn't your job to do my nails and make this a good customer experience so I come back? 3 days later.. my nails are cracked and the shine is coming off... remind you this a gel powder which normally lasts 3 weeks minimum!! I came here all the time to get my nails, toes, and eyebrows done. Thursday I went to get a pedicure and a gel manicure. Pedicure was not the best and the gel manicure was terrible!!!! They did not keep my nails in the light long enough and went to wipe my nails off with the cotton ball and all the paint basically came off. My gel manicure looked like a child did it! I then spoke to the owner and made an appointment to come back the next day. Ended up having to wait even with an appointment, another girl who my appointment was not with tried doing my nails, and then finally my nails were done and much better. It is now Sunday and 4 of my nails are chipped already! No I was not doing deep cleaning or having my hands in water for the past two days... nothing! I will not be going there anymore other similar issues like this previously but not this bad and because I was going there for so long I wanted to continue to give them another chance. I've been there a number of times now and it's hit or miss depending on who you get and what mood there in. I usually go on Sunday's since that's what works for my busy work schedule. I went a few weeks ago and liked the way one of the manicurist did my nails so I decided that I wanted to go back to her so the following week I tried booking an appointment for her again they said no problem when I got there she was doing someone else's nails ok I was calm things happen another manicurist did my nails and did a nice job. The following week I tried again made a appointment with a specific manicurist ended up with someone else who was horrible now my boyfriend not realizing I wasn't happy with the services their bought me a gift card so back I went . . I tried the same thing made an appointment with a specific manicurist and it work great I thought maybe they got there act together !!! So I tried again yesterday will when I got there the manicurist was in the middle of a pedicure I figured no problem I'll wait I wasn't in a rush I waited over 20 min which I was fine with then she started to do my manicure only to realize the lady that she was doing the pedicure for also had wanted a manicure so she rushed my manicure (less then 10 min) nicked me then rushed the polish which looked horrible that I took it off when I got home (I should have taken a picture to post) all she kept saying was sorry I felt bad since I think it's the owners that push them but I'm done once I finish the gift card I won't go back. 3 stars since I have gone there and it's been great but I have also gone there and it's been horrible read more

I'm so happy I found this place. I've been going to a few salons in the area and never been 100% happy, but nail passion has exceeded my expectations. Modern, clean, and very organized. $25 mani/pedi on Monday and Tuesday. $30 on other days. Staff is great and pedicure was out of this world. I have very high standards and nail passion met them.
