I took a friend here as we were referred by another friend who spoke of this location very gloriously. Upon arriving we were greeted by a very friendly man and woman. I explained to them that we were referred there for a mani/pedi so they got my friend situated and began to do their thing. I then took the seat of shame and waited until she was done. While sitting down I began to scan the place. This place is well kept and modern, situated in a fairly accessible area, fairly busy when we were there but they took care of us really quick. I thought back to every nail salon stereotype and the most common one is that there is an unproven stigma about nail salon workers speaking about their customers in their native language, this was not an issue at this Salon. The workers spoke English and were chatting it up with their customers. I saw many smiles coming from both the customer and the nail techs. After my friend was done with her pedi/mani she paid and proudly showed them off to me with a glowing smile. I could see her instantly take a picture to send to her boyfriend. This was always my go to place but they got a little stingy on the foot massage. It's the part I (and probably most people) look most forward to when booking a pedicure. Everyone here is perfectly nice and they do a good job. My toesnail polish seems to look nicer longer when I come here as opposed to other salons. My only complaint is the Foot massage. Seriously lasts for a few minutes. Typically should last 10 minutes at least. If I want my toes to look pretty I come here but I really really wish they can up their massage time. read more

Watch what this woman actually processes on your credit card account. She added a tip for herself, which of course I reversed with my credit card company!! The place is shabby but cheap. Stumbled in when my regular salon was too busy. She cut my cuticle and my fingers were sore for days and that is why she, also the owner (customary that you do lot tip the owner), she spent the entire time complaining about the lack of success in her shop, how she wanted to give bankruptcy- my suggestion that the clean the place up was met with - oh, we are too lazy. It was truly serendipity that I happened to pass by this nail salon after my workout at the gym. This is a family-owned business. I was helped by Jade, co-owner. As people walked in she was very very pleasant, acknowledging everybody and made sure that nobody had to wait very long for whatever service they requested. They perform eyebrow waxing and all sorts of manicure/pedicure. I opted for the gel manicure with cute little flower designs on certain nails. Not only did Jade meticulously trimmed my fingernails to my satisfaction, she did a great job on my cuticles. Most manicures, including gel manicures does not last very long on my nails because my profession requires me to wash my hands a lot. I was very impressed that Jade applied TWO base coat. She also applied the polish like a professional (I've noticed some places paint nails like kindergarteners). Best of all was that it was the most cost-effective charge on gel manicures that I found in this locale. I will definitely be coming to this place for all my nail cares from now on. read more

I went to this nail salon for acrylics and pedicures for years before I moved out of town. After moving I tried 2 different nail salons and was utterly unsatisfied so decided it was worth the drive to come back here. The husband of the salon is incredible with acrylics!! He's fast and has incredible attention to detail. On top of the great quality nails, great service, and the acrylic product I love as well, they are also the best price I've found. I just had my nails done here because I saw the sign for 20.00 full set. The nail tech did my nails fine. The problem that I had was he charged me 35.00!!!!!!!!!!!! They told me because I wanted my nails pointy it was 15.00 extra. I'm not a person who complains easily but while I was getting my nails done they kept telling me how customer service was THE MOST IMPORTANT thing and not once did they mention that it was going to be an extra 15.00 for a different nail shape. On the same side as the 99 cent store. The woman told me I chose a good color 4 times. The 1 minute foot massage felt nice and she spent a good amount of time picking at my cuticles and painting my toes. I wasn't too happy when she told me my 37-dollar-at-the-day-spa eyebrows looked like they needed to be done, and then asked me if I have ever had them done before. I don't like paper thin eyebrows lady... The place feels clean enough. It's a man and wife and friends run business and the staff all seem to get along well together. I had a good feeling while sitting in the pedicure chair. With the coupon from the "community guide" that gets mailed out it was only $15 plus tip. I'm happy with my toes and I understand that Asians like smaller eyebrows, so I will be returning here and I'll just learn to ignore any future eyebrow comments. *edit* it's been a day since I went here, and my toes are still hurting. My mom and all of her friends go here and so I usually make an effort to get a pedicure with her while I'm in town. Extremely minimal on the decor. Its basically a white box filled with 1 row of spa pedicure stations along one side and manicure tables along the other. If you're like me, you don't go to nail places for the atmosphere - save that for swanky dinners or even hair salons. The reason I think Nail Lounge is the best option in Encinitas / Carlsbad area is because of the results. I have always gotten a perfect pedicure, no cuts on the cuticles, and with polish that lasts for-evah! Seriously, it doesn't come off. Who knows what top coat they use, but that doesn't budget until your nails grow out or you go back for a new one. If you are someone that takes your polish off and does your own re-paints at home between pedicures, that may be annoying more than a blessing though! 1 extra star given for their length of massage and extra politeness when greeting / paying, etc! :) read more

I was able to get a fill and pedicure at the same time and loved the fact that the business is family owned. This review is only on waxing, I have never gotten my nails done here, but hear they do a good job. To their credit, they are very friendly, and very prompt. However, the eyebrow waxing a different story...this is the 2nd time i have tried them, and I leave with greasy eyebrows that really look no different than when I went in. I went to Nail Lounge for the first time to try gel veneers using a coupon. I had just come home from camping on the beach and my nails were a disaster. It was a fairly miserable manicure. My fingers soaked in plain water, no nice smelling suds. The manicurist was aggressive in clipping my cuticles (something I never do but they looked so bad I didn't resist) and buffing my nails. There was no hand massage or any lotion of any kind but I figured this was because the coupon price was low ($20). I had to ask the manicurist a couple of times to go over rough spots on my nails, left from her zealous filing. The salon itself was pretty unimpressive. The manicure tools did not come out of a new package or even out of sterilizing solution. After clipping my cuticles and buffing my nails, the manicurist just shook out the towel on the floor... the carpeted floor! At the end of the manicure I was charged $25. I showed the $20 coupon (again) and she said the extra charge was for the cuticle clipping, something I hadn't asked for and actually didn't want. I brought the owner (?) over who would not budge when I complained that I hadn't asked for this service. Overall, this was a horrendous experience. p.s. This is the first time I have ever recorded a negative YELP review. I always try to "Yelp" positive experiences. read more

Had to change my review from 5 stars to 1 star. I was getting my regular pink and white nail fill here and the gentleman who was doing my nails was using the electric metal filer to shave down the acrylic he had just applied. He looked tired, was talking to his wife the whole time, and was not paying attention when he DEEPLY CUT into my cuticle and it started to bleed and wouldn't stop! If you are going to use an a metal TOOL on someone you need to be careful. He did apologize, applied alochol to clean it, and completed the rest of my nails while I was in pain, but I had to go out that night for an event. To top it all off he made me STILL PAY FOR IT! I was upset, hurt, and my thumb was bright red. Never coming here again and I'd advise you to not come here either unless you want to get cut or worse... a possible infection. read more

I get my pedicure here all the time and the price and quality does not compare to anywhere else. For a french spa pedicure with the bells and whistles I usually only pay $25 and their massage chairs actually work! It is never too busy here and the people are very friendly that work there. this business has reopened with COVID regulations in place, new update d paint and stations with plexi shields, the family take pride in their work, are skilled technicians, keep the place clean, sterilize tools immediately, are patient with disabilities, actually bought a foot soak machine for me to use as I'm in a wheelchair and couldn't climb into the pedi massage chairs, then altered the foot soaker so my foot would go in, the restroom is also great for handicap use they accept walking, but can get busy, make an appointment, good french manicure, waxing at the same time, well worth the service, friendly people and caring. They speak English, but are fluent in Vietnamese, you can bring your own product or choose from their supply, all new restocked, wear a mask sanitizing station as you enter if needed, they do a mini hand massage at the end of mani, my last mani pedi endured all through quarantine,6weeks, so nail prep is great, so glad to get back on a routine, plucking one hair at a time drove me nuts, I have no use of left hand so doing my own nails is impossibile read more
