I managed to cure it mostly by myself by using rubbing alcohol and an off-the counter antibiotic ointment w/ pain relief thankfully, so I was thinking of cancelling the appointment, but went anyway since I figured it couldn't hurt to get it checked by a professional and avoid having to cancel last minute. Dr. Coen was very attentive and proceeded to take a look and ended up cleaning off some of the remaining pus and cutting the excess skin/nail off so that it would not bother me and completely heal. It was such a simple procedure that he didn't bother to ask for a co-pay/bill my insurance, even though I asked if there was a co-pay. That alone just made me post such a positive review... it's hard to find doctors that are so dedicated to help their patients. Thank you Dr. Coen. :)

I am pretty sure I will not need surgery and that's a huge relief! When I walked in there several weeks ago, I was limping, barely able to walk, and had to be driven there. I was in such bad shape that I would wake up crying in pain. From there, I am now mostly pain-free and I've regained the mobility I had lost in my left leg. Also, the front desk staff, nurses and medical assistants (not sure of all the proper titles) are all really nice people. I particularly enjoyed the upbeat attitude of the red-headed lady who did my intake - wish I had remembered her name. It is very easy to get an appointment, and you don't sit around waiting for a long time. The waiting room is small but has nice magazines and a TV, and the facility has parking, which is important! I found it convenient to drive to and locate the facility, which is right in a cute part of Wellesley near the Quebrada bakery. The doctor is an empathetic person who took time with me to understand my problems, gave me the appropriate treatment that has helped me go back to "living life", and answered all of my questions. I just feel very lucky to have been recommended to this place and now I'm recommending it to you! (if you need such things, but then you wouldn't be looking at this review if you didn't think you might need some medical intervention.)

However, finding a specialty provider that takes AETNA is difficult, and Aetna's coverage is not nearly as comprehensive as UH. Also, lately I am disheartened with the service I have been getting. It seems her PA shunts me off to find specialists when, in the past, Dr. Minkina was always ready to send me in the right direction. It is very frustrating. If I did not trust and like Dr. Minkina as much as I do, I would be looking elsewhere for a Dr who takes United Healthcare and would switch not only Drs but health insurance providers. AAARRGGH.
