A few years ago I had changed where I worked and did most of my errands. One of my big toes had become grotesquely inflamed, and painful. I made what turned out to be a big mistake by seeing a podiatrist in a town more convenient to me than Natick. I saw him twice. As is turns out, he misdiagnosed me and gave me a treatment which did not work. I decided to call Dr. Robinson and, long story short, I credit him with saving my toe and sparing me a great deal of pain. I cannot overemphasize how kind, caring, thoughtful and professional Dr. Robinson is. He embodies compassion. He puts me right at ease and has always been so amazing at what he does. It was my good fortune to encounter him as the on-call doctor the day after bone spur surgery last year. My own surgeon had refused to take my call. Dr. Bergman was so helpful, speaking with me in a kind, unhurried manner and addressing all my concerns with no apparent time constraint--on a Friday night no less. I felt as all patients should feel (especially post-op): respectfully heard and cared for. He addressed my pain issue and spoke to how he works with his patients who have had similar surgeries--when he recommends starting PT, etc. Months later, I chose to become one of his patients. Since then, Dr. Bergman has continued to treat me with professionalism and his trademark kindness. There is nothing phony about him. He meets me at eye level, sitting face-to-face as we discuss my progress following a second ankle surgery that he performed. He listens. Intently. He engages. Openly and honestly. He truly cares. Dr. Daren Bergman is in a class of his own at Orthopedics New England. And I am grateful to be one of his "students." Thank you, Dr. Bergman. You don't even realize how good you are. First time here. When I first got the office, I got an XRay of my foot that was bothering me. I told him that I wanted to try PT first and I did not want to have surgery. He wrote my a note to see a PT and that was it. He spent maybe 8 minutes with me tops. This doctor/practice place charged my insurance $650 for a ten minute visit. My Insurance paid $470 for the visit and then left me to foot the $180 balance. This is why our health care system is broken!
