Dr. Daren Bergman is a breath of fresh air. In a sea of outdated and unnecessary arrogance and…read moredismissiveness at this facility, he stands alone. It was my good fortune to encounter him as the on-call doctor the day after bone spur surgery last year. My own surgeon had refused to take my call. Dr. Bergman was so helpful, speaking with me in a kind, unhurried manner and addressing all my concerns with no apparent time constraint--on a Friday night no less. I felt as all patients should feel (especially post-op): respectfully heard and cared for. He addressed my pain issue and spoke to how he works with his patients who have had similar surgeries--when he recommends starting PT, etc. Months later, I chose to become one of his patients. Since then, Dr. Bergman has continued to treat me with professionalism and his trademark kindness. There is nothing phony about him. He meets me at eye level, sitting face-to-face as we discuss my progress following a second ankle surgery that he performed. He listens. Intently. He engages. Openly and honestly. He truly cares. Dr. Daren Bergman is in a class of his own at Orthopedics New England. And I am grateful to be one of his "students." Thank you, Dr. Bergman. You don't even realize how good you are. Wish your colleagues could take a page or two from your book. It should be mandatory reading. I highly recommend Dr. Bergman. [The five stars are for him alone, not Orthopedics New England.]

It has been a few years since I visited this doctor, but while I was there I noticed literally ALL…read morethe physicians were men, and 80% of them were white. Years later as I need another appointment I checked their website and they are still ALL male doctors and just a handful of women physician assistants. You cannot tell me that is not deliberate when they have 10+ doctors. Appalling. Is it still 1940?? I'll be going somewhere else. Update: The office responded insisting that they follow all EEOC requirements and do not discriminate. As an HR and Recruiting Director, I know exactly how easy is for hiring managers to skew their decisions to hire exactly whom they want regardless of any office policy of antidiscrimination. 10 male doctors and not a single female doctor is almost impossible unless intentional. Do not kid yourselves.

Have been seeing Dr Finno since his days with the Boston Spine group. He is my miracle worker. 20…read moreyears ago as a late 30's mom, I had severe pain and was unable to nod or turn my head, difficulty raising my arms, with tingling & weakness, and also severe lower back pain. I had constant pain that interfered with my ability to sleep, socialize, work, carry out every day activities, or be truly "present" with friends & family. I spent years seeking help, but most doctors dismissed it, as often happens to women, as being "all in my head", or hormones, laziness/lack of exercise (though I was trim, athletic & went to the gym daily), or being dramatic & attention-seeking. My long-time orthopedist said there was definitely something wrong, and referred me to Dr Finno for a consultation. Dr. Finno actually listened to me and investigated. He was honest & open about what he could & couldn't do, and what to expect, answered all my questions & concerns, and never made me feel dismissed or stupid. When I decided to move forward with treatment, he explained everything clearly & carefully during each step of the procedures, and made things as comfortable & calm as possible. 48 hours later, I had a drastic reduction in pain, and big gains in range of motion. Over time, I regained 100% of my function and range of motion, and got back to doing most of the things I loved and was able to live a pain-free, normal life again. I now see him 1-3x a year for injections when I start hearing the usual clicks & crunching get louder & more frequent, and feel the stiffness & pain flare up. For me, and a few others I know, he's truly worked miracles to restore our ability to move & function without pain, and I don't trust my spine to anyone else.

I was a new patient going…read morefor consult/assurance that I had not done tendon/artery damage to my index finger on a month-old stitched-by-others, and healed laceration, and waited an hour past my scheduled appt. This is ER style waiting in my opinion. Dr Dietz was very professional but is apparently overbooked by front end staff. When I left there was a line out the door. COVID concerns are somewhat met, but do self-certify. Upon my asking if the wait was normal Dr Dietz mentioned some college professor anecdote about how it takes what it takes to answer all pertinent patient questions. That said, patients please be aware of others' time.
