Despite being prescribed the medication, I must point out that Dr. Repassy is not huge on medications. The medication she gave me is a prescription, but it's an all-natural, porcine-based pill, not lab-derived chemicals, so that's all pretty cool. Dr. Repassy loves doing weight counseling, and she's even gotten me more active. She has great ideas for fun ways to lose weight and she really understands how the body works. I recently tried to get a prescription filled on a Thursday before a long weekend; however, there was a glitch and it never got sent. I called on Saturday and left a message with a covering physician who said there was not much she could do until Tuesday but that she would contact Dr. Zabik, (very nice thing to do). Later that day, Dr. Zabik called my home and left a message that she had called it in for me. I did not ask her to do that but she did it because she is such a caring physician. Thankfully that side was still fine (out of pocket cost $416). Scheduled what I believed to be my yearly mammogram Feb 2026 but they apparentally wanted to bill this as a 3rd FOLLOW UP. This "follow up" however was for both sides and was no different than any other standard mammogram I have ever had except this one costs more than $500 out of pocket. Therefore, this yearly was not covered. So all told a suspicious finding that has now been checked 3 times cost me more than $1500 out of pocket. Lesson learned. Questions the number of endless billable follow ups, especially when they are the exact same as standard mammogram.

The initial invoice…read morewas because Charles river billed the 2ndary insurance as primary, causing a retraction in payment. When I called the billing department back in June, I provided the primary insurance information and I was told the claim is being sent back. Then in July I received another bill. I called the billing department and was told "the claim was resubmitted but there is a balance", I explained that the balance should be submitted to the secondary insurer. I was told that they will do this. Then in August I received another bill. I called the billing department and asked why am I still receiving a bill. I was told that the claim denied stating that there is no primary doctor listed for the patient and that I would have to call my insurer to fix the problem. So I called my insurance company and was advised by the insurance company representative that the claim was never sent back in June. The provider, Charles River Medical Group, did not do their due diligence when they didn't resubmit the claim. The insurance representative asked to call Charles River billing department to resolve the issue and put me on hold. The insurance representative came back and stated they had to tell the billing representative how to reprocess the claim. The billing person at Charles River should know how to process a claim and resubmit a claim. Because of their lack of reprocessing this claim they would rather send the patient a bill. Horrible! I also filed a grievance with my insurance company.

Dr. McNagny not only delivers thorough, smart, and impeccable care to me, she treats me with respect as a human and as a whole person, not just as a patient. When I had a (successful!) major surgery recently, Dr. McNagny spent a solid three months leading up to it checking in with me at least weekly to get me ready. She motivated me to get and be well--pricless. Her Masters in Public Health gives her extra understanding of how our American medical system works (or does not).
