The service is excellent at this salon! I've been going here 16 years. I know everyone by name and they all know my name. Everyone that isn't with a client greets me. I have a favorite person who does my pedicures and I wouldn't go to any other salon because they know what they're doing. I call my nail tech a doctor because he keeps me from having to go to the podiatrist. I always make an appointment. Don't just expect to walk in and get serviced right away. Be courteous and respectful of their timing and schedules as well. And please always make sure to tip!! They work long, hard hours, 6 days a week with hardly any breaks for eating. I have been to this Salon many times before, during and now after the pandemic. This last visit, after 3 years was disgusting. Not only because of the dirtiness, unclean and unhygienic location but I have never been so offended by their comment. Comments about every different race other than the people who were performing the service. They LITERALLY made fun of us as Italian's but when on to make fun of us as looking like Polish people, ??? Well I didn't check the yelp reviews before I visited this place. I regret not doing so! Starting with the sanitation conditions! This place should be closed down, the chairs are nasty and they do not sanitize the tools they use on you. I saw the owner grab the clipper from the floor and clean it with his hand. They didn't use a regular polish on me despite of me telling them I want it multiple times. On top of all I got a chemical burn on the top of both my feet! Stopped in here because I work in this mall and was desperate to get a new set. Shame on me for not checking Yelp reviews before I visited. Not only did my nails turn out horribly, but they they tried everything to keep me from getting just a basic acrylic set. Anything to try to get me to pay more. I had to say no FIVE times to get them to back off. And then, when she was doing the nails, she asked me if I wanted them squared, which I didn't, and apparently charged $5 for them to be rounded rather than squared. Such a rip off. I posted pictures of how they turned out, but they made me bleed because she wasn't being careful with the drill. And left a bunch of the powder under my nails. This business is absolutely terrible. I got my nails done here this evening. The lady rushed, she kept grabbing my hand real hard, sticking me with her sharp nails and she did a awful job. I told her what I didn't like. Then she said she would put oil on my cuticles, she left the shop before my nails were done. I told another lady who barely looked up from her phone and she refused to help and said put some lotion on.The manager wouldn't help either and said put some lotion on. My nails look a hot mess, I will never go back; it's only been 3.5 hours (see my pictures). I should add they were closing and it was 7 p.m. This is why I stopped getting my nails done. This place gave me an infection !!!! First off when I went the lady I got (shot hair bob) was rude. She asked what length I wanted for my full set and before I can answer she just cut. The nails was not the length I wanted, she told me "get used to them". She got mad at me when I asked her to fix them. While she was putting the Aqurlic on I told her it was burning ( to the point it was like a piercing pain going up my hand) she said "you'll be fine". When it was time to pick my color she gave me an attitude once again literally huffing and puffing the whole time. I hated my nails they was not what I asked for but still I paid out of respect besides it was nun I couldn't fix myself Two days later my thumb starting hurting around the nail next day it was to the point I couldn't move it. I had no choice but to take my nails off ( btw 2 broke off a day later) by the end of the week I had a huge painful bump on my thumb. Went back to the shop and I explain what happen. The guy literally grabbed my thumb seeing how swole it was and said " nothing wrong with it" I asked for my money back and he said " no refunds I can't do nun for you" I told him I was going to call the health department and he didn't even care. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! On 7/20/2021, I went to Nail City, at Great Lakes Mall in Mentor for a manicure & pedicure as a walk-in. After waiting for a bit more than an hour, I was asked to go to the back and take a seat. I then waited another 20+ minutes before "MIMI" approached me. From the start you can tell that she was in an extremely bad mood. She hadn't asked me what I wanted before she started saying that I was moving my feet to much and was extremely bother the fact that she had to adjust the chair I was sitting in. I was taken back by her behavior but let it go. Her rudeness and unprofessional-ism continued and only escalated. A few minutes later, she started to remove the polish from my toenail and again said to me to stop moving my feet. You could hear the angry in her voice. I knew I wasn't moving my feet and asked her what her problem was? She practically jumped off her stool and started yelling saying that she was not going to service me and them turned to her coworker repeating her statement of not serving me. I was pretty much taken off guard as I didn't expect that at all. Choice words were exchanged, and I asked to speak to the manager or the owner of the establishment but was told that they were not there (which I found hard to believe) and decided to leave as words between "MIMI" and I were still being exchanged. MIMI even had the nerve to say that she was the owner of the place. That statement made me laugh out loud. The services at Nail City "isn't the best" and the professionalism from MIMI was lacking on every level. She was disgustingly rude, nasty and should not be working in a place that requires tips to survive. If you want to be treated with respect stay far away from this establishment as not only does it lacks respect to its paying customer, but it also lacks a lot of class as well. read more

Went in for a acrylic fill. I had white acrylic they talked me into putting gel on top because their white acrylic wasnt the same as the white I had on my nails. It was $40 for a one week fill. The gel on two of my fingers chipped not even 4 hrs later. I go back there the next day to get it fixed and they weren't even open at the time it said they should be. My first time at this salon and my first manicure in 7 years! My experience was great! I got a gel manicure and everyone was super nice and very meticulous in their craft. It was 37$ for my manicure which was more than I've spent on myself in a while but I deserve it! I love the interaction I had with the gentleman who did my nails--he was really excited for my trip to Greece which is why I went. The salon was pretty busy in my opinion but I still felt like I wasn't rushed in and out of the store. I think the salon needs an update: I noticed the chairs were chipping and the counters seemed stained with old polish and would love to see a remodel. I was really disappointed. I'm a mom of two and I just wanted to pamper myself for an hour so I went to get a pedicure. The water was freezing cold that I was supposed to soak my feet in, they hurt me while cutting my nails and the foot file scraped off part of my big toe nail... Instead of buffing it out or something he just painted right over the scraped off toenail. The nail polish was so globby it was sticking to the skin on the side of my toes so I had to fix it myself when I got home with nail polish remover. I won't be coming back. read more

I would not listen to the other people that gave bad reviews. I go to Joey and he is by far the BEST nail tech I have ever had! I travel for my job, across all of USA, and sometimes have to get a pedi/mani while out of town. I don't like going anywhere else, because NOBODY comes even close to the dedication and detail of Joey! As far as walk-ins, it's just like any other place of business that schedules appointments. Make one and you can most likely be guaranteed a time frame that does not keep you waiting. Oh, and please don't show up a half hour before they close. Be courteous and respectful of their time. They already work 12 hour days, don't keep them there after closing time. Call ahead of time, to see how busy they are, and plan your day accordingly. Also, PLEASE don't forget to tip! What a bummer. I needed a couple of acrylics fixed and a polish change. She was done in less than 10 minutes, so you can imagine the work I had done. Needless to say, I had to go to the store and buy a file to properly shape my nails after repeatedly trying to correct the manicurist. So I walked away with nails that were misshapen, polish that was very uneven and I felt like a number, not a customer. Save yourself the headache and just go somewhere else. She said that she would put oil on my nails but she rushed out and went home and never put oil on my nails. I got a nail overlay, she filed my nails crazy and they look fat and awkward. I asked one nail tech if she could put oil on my nails, she barely looked up long enough from her phone to talk to me and she said jus put lotion on. Then, I stopped a man walking by that worked there and I showed him and he said wash your hands and put lotion on. My nails have dried up acrylic on the cuticle, under the nail and on the tip of my nail. I was not given a manicure at all. We thought this was a great place at first, nice people and they were quick and did it well. Our nails started chipping three days after getting them done, with shellac. The next day we called and asked to get them fixed and we made it in this week. They told us we wouldn't need an appointment and instead sat for 30 minutes waiting. They didn't even take mine all the way off they painted on top of what I had and they look lumpy and like they are going to come off tomorrow. My best friend was with me and one of the nail techs started arguing with her about what color she got last time and yelled at her in front of everyone in the salon... now her hands and toes are two completely different colors. She also told her her nails were too oily and that's why they chipped as if that was in her control. Spa pedi $30, Mani $24, tools are dirty, and they rush through it. The mani nails were different lengths and nog polished off. The underside of the nails had all kinds of unfilled extra nail residue. The tools, towels and area were dirty at 10:00am .... And we were the first customers! They don't do an itemized bill and if you charge it.., it doesn't have the tip line. Got my nails filled in, which I debated about because I was not happy with the nails to start with. The were pretty but not did not last 2 weeks before a fill in was needed. In fact after about 3 days nails definitely needed to be filled in. I understand wanting a customer to return but not putting nails on correctly to begin with so they have to return so quickly was ridiculous. Then I go back because a nail broke, called and confirmed that they were open till 6pm on Sunday. As I pull up and walk in mall at 5pm, I see everyone from shop leaving out the back door. " Are you still open? I asked. " Yes" he said, only to find they were not. Come back next day, tech said "she didn't understand, it was too soon for nails to be breaking, acrylic should be stronger". I agreed, told her she should tell the guy that originally did my nails. So she did and as he waked behind my chair, he called me a name in his native language. Probably the WORST nail salon I've ever been to. I broke one acrylic nail and needed a replacement. The place that I like near me was closed so I was desperate. Never again! The man at the front desk was nice but looked at me like I had two heads when I told him I needed a replacement and it wasn't done there. I didn't wait very long, but when the tech approached me, she was talking with her mouth full to another tech and had food all over herself! She finally sat me down and I told her what I wanted and she rolled her eyes. I even told her that I JUST needed the acrylic and she didn't even have to polish it and that I had the polish at home. It took her like 3 minutes to put the acrylic on and file it down. 3 MINUTES. And she charged me $5. I don't care about the price, but the quality was awful. She didn't even shape them like the others and I basically had to go home, file them down, reshape, and polish them. Don't go there. They're sooo unprofessional. First time, and never again. I take partial responsibility for my crappy experience. I should have looked up the reviews on this nail salon before walking in, and once I was in the chair, I should have trusted my gut and ran instead of worrying about being rude. This nail salon is inside Great Lakes Mall, near the Sears store. The salon was fairly busy and looked popular. I went in for a simple gel french manicure, which I have had multiple times at other salons. I was quoted $35 for this service before agreeing to it, picked out my pink nude base, and took the first available technician. The first bad sign I should not have ignored was the dust; there was nail powder and dust coating the floor, tables, chairs, tools, EVERYTHING, and it was even on my black pants and I had been in the salon for less than 5 minutes. I had two simple and polite requests before the manicure started. One - I did not want my nails to be over filed, and two - I did not want the white part of the french design to be thick. The part where I should have walked out is when I noticed the nail files and buffing blocks had been used previously on other clients. Its gross, other people's nail dust and germs are all in the files as they grind down your nails. I should have said something. I should have requested new tools. I was embarrassed, I am not good at being confrontational or speaking up and looking rude. But also, in a "professional" salon, I shouldn't have to ask them to use clean tools. So I sat there, skeeved out over it. When I was told I could wash my hands I scrubbed them down good. The nail technician hardly talked to me, which made it awkward. He kept talking to the other people working in the salon in another language. I think the only small talk we made was that he told me to take biotin for my thin nails. The part that really made me mad was that he ignored my request about the white tips not being thick. I politely asked him to make them thinner, and he tried to talk me out of it. That is fine and all, I heard his point, but then I requested it my way anyways because I am the one paying and it is my fingers I have to look at. He then proceeded to roll his eyes at me and fix it in a very rushed manner, because apparently I was taking up too much of his precious time. When he was done, he didn't even ask me if I liked the way he had fixed it. He looked annoyed as I inspected my hand to make sure I liked it before I stuck my hand under the curing lamp. That is where his tip went down a bit. I am a paying customer, a polite one at that who is not sitting down for the cheapest gel manicure around...sorry, not sorry? Oh, and my nails were totally being over filed the whole time. I had medium length nails and left with nicely shaped stubs. I had to kind of pull my hand away while he was filing to make him stop it. Very aggravating. They put this disgusting lotion on you afterwards with a hand massage. I am still trying to clean the disgusting dried up lotion out of my diamond ring. Not even a warning he was going to do it so I could have taken to ring off. The icing on the cake was when I noticed a bottle of windex next to the stations. I have a suspicion that is what they are "cleaning" the tools with. I couldn't help but feel very, very skeevy looking at that bottle. Lets just say it obviously wasn't there to clean the manicure tables, because the place was a mess. Again, no proof, just a suspicion of my own. I paid and left as soon as I could. I have no intentions of EVER returning, nor will I ever recommend them to anyone. Oh, and in case you were wondering, my $35 french manicure suddenly cost more after the service. The tip has to be in cash, and they expect a full tip. The manicure I got is not worth what I paid. It is awful to leave a nail salon thinking "I can't wait to get to a sink so I can scrub my hands, arms, and bath them in purell." I know this is long, but I hope this review helps you read more
