Used to like going to this place, but today I decided I will not be coming back here unless the policy for animals change. I was enjoying my mani-pedi until a large dog was brought into the establishment. I have animals myself but I do not push them onto others. No spa, restaurant or a grocery store should have animals in their establishment. read more

I was looking to get a acrylic set with gel over it, and had put it off too long. I was leaving town in a day. I had called a few places, and either they were too expensive, or couldn't get me in or just gave me the wrong vibe. I then called Expert Nails, and was able to get an appointment that afternoon. When I got there, the place was clean, and pleasant looking. I was taken back within 5 minutes of arriving. The gentleman taking care of me, Dan, told me to pick out my color, and when I was debating between 2, he brought both back. Dan did a great job, taking his time to make it perfect. When we were ready for the color, he recommended the darker one, which I had picked first. When he was all done with the color, he asked if I would like a design on my nails, like a heart for Valentine's Day. He drew a tiny heart by hand on my ring fingers, then made sure they were sealed too. When I went to check out, my bill for everything was less than everyone else wanted for just the acrylics! They do discount for cash, and charge a small fee for credit, but even with that and my tip, I still got much more than other salons in the area had done. It's been a week, and my nails still look as good as they did the day I got them. Last place I went in the area my nails were popping off two days after I had them done! I had a brief 20 minute wait for a walk-in appointment, and the staff was friendly and kind. My pink and white dip manicure took its time. I was happy with the look, but was expecting more than 8 days of use. For reference, I had a dip manicure for my wedding last summer, and it held up for about 12 weeks. Within days, the acrylic nail had separated from my real nails, and it was getting gross in between. I went to a [different] salon near me and when the nails were removed, there was a lot more damage to my nail bed than I had seen with that 12 week manicure last year. I know everyone has good days and bad days, and my manicurist had a whole lot of observers watching while he worked (not sure if its a rarely used technique for their location)? So I can only assume it was high pressure, but for the price and the [even when done well] damage this kind of manicure can do, I'd rather try elsewhere. Also... and this one is just a personal pet peeve: I really love finding a good salon that plays relaxing spa like music. Not oldies, not the soundtrack of Grease, etc. This place had country western music playing for the entire time I was there, and that's my least favorite genre of music. read more

Made appointment. Was seated as soon as I came in (following temp check and sanitizer). Gentleman doing my pedicure seemed easily distracted by the phone every time and still finished my pedicure before the people that were started before I got there. He also seemed scared of giving the massage and it was an odd finger tip massage and 70% was just the fist tapping on the bottom of my feet. Asked for a design before I sat and they said they could do. Waited 2" minutes after pedicure to get the design and they asked for a picture to go from and the design (of a simple flower) looked nothing like what was on my toes...also completely uneven from one foot to the other. The issue is after 40 minutes I was told I'd have to wait another 30 minutes because they forgot they had other appointments... I said I've already been waiting 40 minutes!!! They had nothing to say, just a shoulder shrug. Had they told me it would be over an hour to begin with I would have taken my business elsewhere. Back in February or 2020 I was looking to get my nails shaped and painted for my wedding day. Normally I do them myself but I wanted it to be something nice to do with my bridesmaids before the wedding rehearsal. We called a couple of weeks ahead and the day of to see if they would take us by apoitment since it was for a wedding. They said no but assured us that it would not be longer then an hour wait. I sat in their waiting area for 3 hours the day of my wedding rehearsal with my bridesmaids and watched them take everyone who walked in after us before all of us. After 3 hours of waiting I decided to leave. When I asked them to take my name off the list of course they were ready to take me then... I left and did my own nails at home for me wedding. After waiting for 4 hours my 4 bridesmaids left as well and did their own nails at home too. They only care about their regular customers and will prioritize them over all the customers in the store. I just wished they were upfront about the wait time and I didn't waste all my time. read more

I will have to say it was quiet and I got exactly what I needed done. Not a huge wait and I've went many places and I felt respected. I was very happy to be there. The lady did my feet awesomely. Had an appointment for three people - when we arrived they said it would be 10 min. And they sat us in the pedicure chairs. An hour later the services started. I had gel nails done and by that evening they fell of two nails. I returned the next day asking for a fix and their response was that I would have to wait again - behind 10+ people. Forcefully charge me 20% on tip. $128 for full set and pedi. I looked at the total and was confused, & I realized they tipped themselves. After they gave me wrong shade of blue, and messed up my pedicure. I have a wedding to go to and they said it would darken after but after three coats ( they usually do only 2) still completely different. The Pedicure, they sprayed hairspray on my toes afterwards and ruined the polish and had to quickly go over leaving it clumpy. Their work ethic has gone down from 4/5 stars to 1/5. But if you don't get there before they open and wait at the door, you are going to wait at least an hour or two. I typically see Pauline and she is wonderful. This does not rate any star as far as I am concerned. I spent almost 2 hours in the chair. I am so totally dissatisfied with my nails. Daisy cut my nails while not seeing the different sizes. I have one hand with all different lengths while the other hand is perfect. I like rounded nails and had to remind her of that a couple of times. I look ridiculous and for $64.00 I am angry. I have had my nails done since 1979 and NEVER had such a bad experience. I recommend finding another place to get your nails done. I am so unhappy and felt I should share this. Went in on Monday at 635pm when the hours say open until 7pm! Didn't say hello but looked at me like I was an alien. Then when I asked about getting a fill they said sorry last customer at 615pm? Then why does your door say 7? Is this just make up your own hours? I have been cut and bled a few different times during a pedicure & manicure. I used to drive out to Mentor from Mayfield but will no longer do so. I called them a few Sundays ago & told them I was coming in for a regular manicure & asked if was too late. The man said- no, come in. When I arrived at 6:30 the same man told me they could not do a regular manicure as he was closing at 7:00 and he had no one to do it(as 3 workers were just standing in the back staring). I explained that I drove all the way from Mayfield & i called before i came in to check because it was a far drive. I showed him the number I called on my phone and he still denied me talking to him & him telling me to come in. I was really disappointed to be treated that way as I have been going there for the last 5 years and had always referred people (despite the cutting/bleeding accidents). I would not recommend going in without knowing what nail tech you want. I went in for a full set & pedi. My nail tech had no clue what she was doing. She cut my skin on my toe and my thumb. She put so much acrylic on my nails that filing them down made my hands very sore the next day. She couldn't even do a simple square shape. I willt ravel here even if im not in the area or have moved far away. NINA is their STAR i mean really she is amazing she does eyebrows amazing and i will never let anyone else touch my eyebrows. I paid $90 for a pedicure and powder manicure. The manicure didn't come with a lotion or massage or cuticle trim. Basically paid for polish, and it's not as shiny as gel. I have been going to Expert Nails for over 15 years. They do good work and my nails always look good. But the wait times are crazy, up to 2 hours wait time. They close at 7:00PM and if you are not in the salon before 6:00PM they will not take you, even if there is no one waiting. This was the worst nail salon I have ever been to . I get there 45 mins before closing & there were 3 employees & 2 customers (receiving their polish) in the shop. I still ended up waiting 40 mins before they could service me, Fine. I showed my nail tech a photo of exactly what I wanted & he said he would be able to accomplish the look I was trying to achieve. By the time he was done applying the acrylic I already knew I was not going to be happy. The acrylic was thin, he got the shape wrong, got the color & design WRONG. I completely hated my nails but it was last minute & I was just going to accept it. I also got a pedicure by a different young lady & I love it. But when I paid for my service I used my debit card & my service were only 95$ I paid my tip in cash but when I checked my account they charged me OVER 100$!!!!!! I was furious & went back into the salon & demanded it got fixed. They didn't correct it until I called in the next day & insisted they call their bank IMMEDIATELY! After that was fixed, here it is 5 days later & one of my nails broke -__- !!!!! I called & they requested for me to come in the following day to get it fixed. I went to get it fixed & the young lady that did my pedicure ended up fixing my nail & it looks horrible. It's thicker than the rest, misshapen & longer. I told her this while she applied it & she assured me she would fix it. She didnt.... so I just left. As I arrive at home & close my car door, ANOTHER NAIL BREAKS!!!!!
