I chose a white that had a sheer look to it so I understood it's not a solid color but a little more effort in having it be at least consistent would have been nice. The lady was a little rough with cleaning my cuticles and the whole service felt very rushed. I was trying to show in the pictures the inconsistency with the shape and part of the nail actually not being covered with paint. She overextended onto my skin and still ended up leaving the cuticles very choppy. In addition, I don't know what it is, but something was left on the polish before it was cured so now it's stuck in the nail. If I was from the area I definitely would not be returning here

Getting to the salon wasn't too difficult, some street parking wasn't too difficult. The salon had a cute and modern vibe to it! I was instantly seated by Tammy and she got to work. I was charged for removal, which I wasn't the greatest fan of. I asked Tammy for a classic nude, white ombré with a bit of glitter on top, and she delivered! This is probably the best set of ombré nails I've ever had done!!! I've had many nail techs say how ombré nails look better on longer nails, but Tammy made things work with the nail length I was comfortable with! I was a bit skeptical of the longevity since it wasn't the hard gel I'm used to, but this set legit lasted me over FOUR WEEKS (with the exception of one nail that had gel-ex on because of some previous nail damage)! If I were in the area more often, I'd go back to Buttercup in a heartbeat!!!! They are on the pricier side, but you'll be paying for quality IMO.

Came here to get short almond gel x nails with a French tip design for my wedding nails. I showed inspo pics and requested that the white not be super stark white compared to the pink. My nail tech started off with a thicker French tip to cover the natural nail peeking out under the gel tip. However that did not fit my vision so I asked for a thinner tip. She did mention that you would be able to see the natural nail under the tip and I said it was ok. I realized after I got home that the pink base coat was essentially clear and the natural nail showed in an obvious way in photos even though I thought it looked ok in person. I did not bring this up to the salon because I figured I just chose the wrong design and decided to just go somewhere else to just get a solid color all over. While getting my polish changed at the other salon, the nail tech noticed that my cuticles were completely covered in gel and had to take an extra 10-15 mins just drilling all the gel off my cuticles otherwise it wouldn't have grown out smoothly. She also fixed the nail shape because it was super pointy for almond in my opinion. My reason for my rating is because gel is not good to constantly get on skin. I did notice my original tech at moongirlnails used a brush to wipe off the gel after each tip application which I didn't love since other places I've been to have known how much gel to apply to avoid overflow. Using excess glue and going back to clean up is not good technique in my opinion. And seeing that the excess was not even fully wiped off and left on my cuticles, I cannot in good faith recommend this salon if you want to avoid developing a gel allergy.
