I normally don't do Yelp reviews (even though I know that I should) but I had an experience at this place that I felt deserved some attention. I happened to drive by this place today and was in need of a fill. I went in thinking that I might have a chance of getting in. It was 2:45 when I arrived and I was asked to come back at 4:15. Normally, I would've never returned, but since I was still going to be in the area I took the appointment. The first thing I LOVED about this place is how pretty it was. Everything seemed clean and updated, the lighting was soft, the music was good and and they had pretty chandeliers and flowers (I'm a sucker for things like that). All of the things that I feel should be in a nail salon. After all, you go there not just for a service, but also to relax. Then the fact that everyone was very polite made my experience better. One of the best things that I experienced was how serious they are about being on time with their appointments. I appreciate going to a place that understands that my time is valuable. I will be returning to Nail Bliss again. If anyone is in the area, and look for a place to get their nails done, give this place a try. I hope this review will help someone. read more

I came in for a regular manicure today and picked OPI'S "Red Fingers and Mistletoes." Ada was the young lady that worked with me. She was polite and friendly. She wasn't overly talkative, but I have to say she was definitely careful. She was so gentle and it was one of the most relaxing manicures that I have had in a long time. I didn't do a no chip manicure (from a previous bad experience at a different salon), but she kept going on about how they guarantee their no chip manicures and if yours doesn't last 2 weeks, they'll fix it for free. She also mentioned that you get a punch card for each no chip manicure and then your 9th one is free. My regular manicure cost $13, which seemed into the higher price range, but it didn't bother me because of how sweet and gentle she was. I'll be coming back to try other services!!! read more

My friend called a few weeks ahead of time and got us each an appointment - mani/pedi for me and just a mani for my friend. We hoped for 10am appointments, but were told the earliest appointment they had was 11. No big deal. On the day of the appointments, my friend asked if I wanted to meet at the Starbucks in the same parking lot to grab a latte while we got our nails done. I declined, but good to know of the super close Starbucks for the future. We arrived, checked in, and were told to pick a nail polish color. We would get our manis first, then I would get my pedi. We were sat together, which we both really appreciated. My mani started a few minutes earlier, and my tech was named Victor. He was great, especially when it came to the hand and foot massages. The whole appointment took about an hour and fifteen minutes, which is about what I expected. I did knock a star off for a couple reasons. First, the ambiance isn't great. It's not super luxurious, but it's clean and not exactly no frills. There are TVs throughout the salon, which were tuned to HGTV. The other knock against this place is a minor one, but kind of annoying. They don't accept any tips on credit cards, even if you pay for your services via credit card. So, we paid with a card, then had to give cash to our techs. I mean, I understand not putting just a tip on a card because of service fees, but most places let you add the tip to the card if that's how you're paying. I had cash, so no big deal, but just an FYI. read more

Sorry Nail Blissers! I don't know why it's taken me this long to give a rave review... This place is THE BEST for a mani pedi! Come here if you enjoy being pampered in a timely fashion. Nail Bliss takes their time with everything especially the hot lotion massage if you get a pedicure (one of my favorites). Appointments are highly recommended. This is the only nail salon I've been to that makes appointments and keeps them. One thing I love is the wide selection of colors. All of the manicurist are so helpful in pushing me in the right direction. I'm so indecisive when it comes to choosing colors and brands especially for no-chips. They last forever whenever I go here so I don't want to pick a color that I'm unsure of. Last time I came, my manicurist ( I think her name was Jen?) did a bright hot orange no-chip as an ode to the end of summer. Now usually, OPI and Essie are what a I swear by when I do a regular pedi polish. And of course, neither brand makes the blinding bright colors so Jen (?) picked another brand that matched and promised it was good. I was hesitant but three weeks later, my toe nail polish is still in tact! Love the quality of work here. Always :) P.S. I enjoy coming here now that I know who my go-to girls are and make appointments only with them. If you walk-in without an appointment, it's usually hit-or-miss with the technician who will be working on your nails. Sometimes I've been lucky with techs who are great and take their time and are gentle. Other times, I have not been so lucky and the tech is rushed, sloppy, and rough which makes me very stressed out and not relaxed which is what you should be feeling at a nail spa. I LOVE their VIP pedi. It's more expensive and takes a longer time but totally worth doing in the springtime to get your feet and legs ready for summer after a long winter in boots. read more

Prices are way too high. I came here with a friend for the first time and got a no chip mani and regular pedi for $59. I think that's a lot compared to other places. The woman did a nice job on my nails but I won't be back at those prices. Oh, they also charge you $1 if you tip on your credit card! There's a sign by the register. Kinda outrageous if you ask me. I tried this nail salon after being disappointed at my previous salon the last couple of times. I usually get a Dip which is suppose to be healthier for your nails. My old salon was always rushing and just started using the drill to remove the old dip. I was very happy that Erica, at Nail Bliss, used the correct technique to remove the dip. Where do I begin! The staff here is extremely rude and when you make an appointment you need to expect to sit in a chair for an hour at least before they actually take you. This was my second time here and both times I made an appointment, both times I waited an hour before they took me. When you walk in they don't greet you they just continue working on who ever they're servicing. You literally have to say "hello" a couple times for them to ask "how can I help you"? I just moved to the area so I thought the first time was a fluke but I'm learning it's just how they run their business. I will never return to this salon nor suggest it to anyone! They also have inappropriate music videos playing with explicit language and a mom kept telling her young daughter to stop looking at the videos. I just can't believe this place. read more

The first time I visited the salon. I was very satisfied. The staff was friendly and my full set was professionally done in a timely manner even though i didn't have an appointment. However the second time i visited.... oh God. Not only was the nail technician not talkative but he was also slow and probably new to the industry. He took a long time and did a mediocre job. Considering the prices and reputation of the salon, such things shouldn't happen. Also i shouldn't have to wait until the staff finishes texting on their phones in order to get service. I've had a few manicures, but this was my first pedicure. The pedi chairs are comfy, and I was reassured to see someone swoop in to scrub the basin out as soon as I was finished. They have a great selection of polish colors, including the lastest fashion lines. They do a full treatment, including soaking, exfoliating and moisturizing your hands and feet, and they buff your nails by hand. My manicurist asked if I wanted my cuticles trimmed, or just pushed back, I don't like having mine cut. Also, they HAPPILY accept credit cards, which a lot of small businesses don't. read more

I love love love Nail Bliss! I went to get a no chip manicure and the bliss pedicure during my lunch break and it took about an hour and a half from when I walked in the door to when I paid. The atmosphere was great - the music was a nice Pandora acoustic station and not too loud. This was one of the best manicures/pedicures I've gotten and will definitely be back! They do understaff on weekdays, so I would recommend making an appointment if you need to ensure you're back to work by a certain time. read more

I've been going here for nearly a year and a half to two years now, and i couldn't be any happier with this salon. I get my full sets and fills done by Sue, and I don't think I'll ever go to any other place. Ever. Sue is very easy to talk to and get along with. Whenever I have an idea for my nails, I'll try to explain it or show her a picture, and she makes it happen- better than what was pictured or what I imagined. The pedicures are also very relaxing as well- the massage chair, the leg massage, hot towel wrap- everything. The only downside is trying to get up and off the chair once you're done... It gets so comfortable and relaxing you don't want to leave! Overall, nail bliss is probably the best salon I've been to. Ben & Sue, the owners, do an amazing job. The polish selection is good, the salon is clean, prices are very reasonable, and the staff is friendly. I don't know what I'd do without this place. read more

Update: I went back to get a no chip and pedi - the pedicure was just like I remembered with the hot towel massage etc. everything was nice and the polish lasted. I could tell the girl that was working on me was new as the owner kept coming over telling her what to do. As a customer I appreciated that. The no chip on my hands unfortunately did not last. With the owner becoming busy and the girl being new she was only doing two nails at a time -then lamp then another two then lamp. Again it seems like she wasn't sure what protocol to follow. I have updated Review to three stars as I have seen improvement since the last time I have gone. I did receive a message from the owner as well apologizing for my bad experience which was nice and offering me to come back in- I wanted to go in undercover to see what a "normal" treatment would consist of. I understand that there will be times where someone is new but if I am paying for a service I expect the person to know what they are doing before they are charging to do so. I asked Sue for pink glitter gel nails (I always get gel nails) and she did them perfectly!! I stupidly tried opening a can of coke with my nails and broke my actual nail before the fake nail. Which to me is good because it shows the quality of the fake nails! I went a second time and got white gel nails, one of which chipped a little only because I accidentally slammed my finger on METAL. They fixed it when I went to get them refilled, you couldn't even tell that I had chipped it! Not to mention I went last minute and they still took me in and did a good job! Just a few examples of how durable these gel nails are! and they DON'T fall off Best place to get your nails done, I just hope that they get 3D nails because then they would be passed perfect!! read more

I needed to change my nails for a job interview, and I was going to go for a pedicure just to relax from a stressful week at work. Calling for an appointment was interesting - the girl on the phone sounded bored and I couldn't even hear her greeting. However, getting an appointment was pretty easy! I called to say I was running a few minutes late, and that seemed to bother the girl on the phone. She might be new, who knows? I had my fill-ins done with Nicole, and I've never been so HAPPY with my nails! I told Nicole I was going to an interview, and she asked if I wanted to narrow the acrylics. No other nail technician has ever done that! She filed my acrylics down and narrowed them, making them look beautiful and not garish. I was so, SO happy with my nails, and I'm still showing them off. Then I had a pedicure with a man, whose name I didn't catch. The pedicure was nice, but the water wasn't hot. My toenails look pretty good! Then I noticed the girl who worked the desk and phones was in sweatpants. I thought it looked rather unprofessional, and probably helped attribute to her bad mood. Overall, I will be recommending this salon to all of my friends, and I can't wait to get my fill-ins with Nicole again! read more

Im a regular here, and it's one of the best nail salons in the area! Staff is professional and are really good, if you want a certain design or style they follow pictures and descriptions well. Good prices, nice color selection, I wish there were more no chip color options they're pretty limited and similar, which is why I took a star away because I usually end up doing the same color when I come here for no chip. I visit Des Plaines once a year and I'm so glad Nail Bliss opened up here! I went to this salon for the first time when they had first opened last August and I was the only one in the place (might have been a weekday). This year I came in without an appointment on Saturday around 11am and they were packed! The girl who did my nails last year said they would able to fit me in for a mani-pedi and a mani for my bf right away. Despite being squeezed in I never felt rushed or uncomfortable. Kudos to the owner for creating such a great establishment. This is the only nail salon I'll go to when I'm visiting Chicagoland! + Plenty of free parking - it's in a strip mall right next to a drive thru Starbucks + They take their time with the services and even use a mini hour glass during the hand massage for those people who get finicky about not having a long enough massage and like to complain about it on yelp instead of saying so at the time. It tickled me pink and I had to smile when I saw that - great idea! + Really nice staff that are talkative when you are, but also blend into the background when you just want to relax and enjoy + Good color selection, although they were out of my fav Cajun Shrimp - get more! + Prices are totally fair and worth it for the service and ambiance they provide This place would be even better if they offered water/refreshments/sparkling wine, but it's no biggie, just stop by Starbucks before you head in. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Nail Bliss since they first opened. Owners Ben and Sue are a very professional husband and wife team. They strive to be the best nail salon in town. (And they speak English, which is a plus!) If you have any issues with a service, they do their best to resolve it. A good majority of the staff isn't fluent in English, but can be understood. However, don't hesitate to ask Sue or Ben if you need help communicating with your nail tech. I've been to many nail salons in the past, and have finally been able to stop looking for the perfect one for me. Nail Bliss is it! I am always pleased with the results of my gel fills and pedicures. My nails are always perfect. Smooth, shaped well, painted perfectly. My nails are always cleaned underneath, too. I personally have never had a manicure there, so I cannot comment in that regard. The no chip polish works great. I travel close to thirty minutes because I know I'll leave a happy customer. The ambiance of the salon is very lush looking and comfortable. Very clean! Pedicure chairs are plenty. I've had days when I just couldn't decide on what color or design I wanted on my nails. Sue, Ben, and Ada (my regular techs) have always been patient and helped me decide and even offered suggestions. They don't get offended if you don't like what they're suggesting. I've never felt rushed. They don't mind redoing color, if after you have a hand done, you decide you don't like it. They don't get annoyed. The receptionists are always sweet. The place really gets hopping! Sue and Ben are very hands on and sometimes, may need to be called away for a few minutes. They want to keep everyone happy. The polish choices are plenty! Although it's sometimes difficult to see everything, as some of the polishes are in a dark crowded corner. I've never needed to wait more than 15 minutes past my appointment time.
