Today was my second time visiting this nail place & Both times I got my nails done by the owner, Su . She was very welcoming, exceptional at listening to what I wanted & took her time while doing my nails. Su was precise & always made sure I was okay with what she was doing. She was also very sweet & a pleasure to talk to. I'm very picky when it comes to getting a full set & how it's shaped, but Su did everything I asked for & more! This is a pretty chill nail salon. I came here a few times and each time I was pleased with the outcome of my nails. Also great is they have a terrific selection of gel colors, and the usual pedicure enhancement packages. Prices were moderate, so don't come here looking for a cheap hookup. When I was there I had a scheduled appointment, but the staff kept looking around and seemed confused. I think that the person who painted my nails was rushing so she could get to the next client. I cannot express how awful my experience was at this establishment. My sister and I got pedicures and I wound up leaving with seven different cuts on both of my lower legs and two cuts on my toes. How on earth do you manage to cut someone's LEGS while giving a pedicure??? The whole experience was incredibly painful. Title: Not for the sick. First let me say that the only reason I visited this facility was because my sister is getting married and the bridesmaids agreed to get their nails done. This being said, I have never been to a nail appointment I did not like as much as I did not like this one. This experience was a nightmare. When I got there the guy who was set to do my nails kept standing there waiting for me to hurry up and pick my color choices for my nails. Not only did he not speak English, he also lacked the ability to appropriately paint my nails. Every time I would identify something wrong, a spot that had not been filled or a gap between the nail and the skin, he automatically rolled his eyes and then spoke in his native language to one of his coworkers. I knew he was saying something about me based on the tonality and the fact that he would look at me, then the person for which he was speaking too. Allow me to be clear on this, I have no problem with people speaking in another language as English is not my first language, but it is rude to make it obvious that you are speaking about someone in front of them. I wish that is where my nightmare ended, but it is not as the Wax Station was even worse than my nail experience. I am battling cancer and I am prone to infection because of being on Chemo which I made the lady doing my eyebrows aware of. The whole time she was sniffling and when I asked if she was sick she said, "Yes" and when she saw how concerned I was she quickly said, "No". I thought that would be the end of it, but no, she then proceeded to blow on my face to cool the wax she had just put on it. I have never been so disrespected in my life by a stranger that I was paying to do a service. The fact that the waxer lacked complete and utter respect for my health is one of the many reasons why I will NEVER get my eyebrows done by this place again. I can not risk getting sick and what she did is expose me to germs that could place me in a hospital. When I addressed the Manager Sue about it, she brushed me off stating that she would speak to both the nail technician and the waxer. All she could do was assure me that my next experience would be better, but why would I want a next experience when the Waxer jeopardized my health and the Nail Tech spoke about me in front of me? When I addressed that concern with Sue completely ignored that comment which only bothered me more as she made it clear that she simply wanted the conversation to be over. She did not even offer me a discount towards my next experience or a refund for my dissatisfaction. All she said was next time would be better. Next? Last time I checked I shouldn't have had to wait for the next experience to be what this one should have been. Plus who is to say that I want to jeopardize my health on my own dime again?? This being said after the experience I had here there is no way that I will ever be coming back to this facility. The moment you care more about your own wallet more than my health is the moment I take away my wallet away and stop investing in you. read more

After reading all the rave reviews on yelp for Nail Bliss Salon, I was thinking I'd found a new place closer to home to get my nails done. Unfortunately, this ended up being one of the worst acrylic jobs I've ever had done and I'm still baffled as to how this salon has the high reviews that it does. I had acrylics done less than 2 weeks ago, and even as I approached the 1 week mark on my acrylics, they looked as if they had been growing out for over 3 weeks. They were poorly done, looked horrible, and when I went in to another salon after 10 days to get them replaced, the woman LAUGHED at how awful my nails were and was able to peel the acrylics right off in a matter of minutes! I'm probably most disappointed because the woman who did my nails was actually the owner of the salon. She was a sweet woman, but it took her less than an hour to do my acrylics, and nearly half the time she was "working" on my nails, she was answering the phone and scheduling other appointments. But that's no excuse for a shoddy job. She had plenty of employees standing around talking to each other or watching videos on their cell phones who could have been answering the salon phone so that she could have paid a little bit of attention to my nails. I did not feel as though she paid the appropriate amount of attention working on my nails, and it certainly showed. While waiting for my nails to dry, I noticed they were uneven and they hadn't even been cleaned out underneath and I had to ASK that they clean them out! Nevertheless, even after asking, I still left the salon looking as though some student had worked on my nails rather than a professional! After less than 2 weeks I was so sick of looking at my awful acrylic job that I went and had them removed and redone at another salon. Overall, there is no way you could pay me to go back and try this salon again. Well, today i went to this place to take off my acrylics and have a regular manicure. The lady named sue took care of me. It took her 30 minutes to take off my acrylics and 25 minutes to do regular manicure. And the final result was awful. It looks like a 5 year old child painted my nails. Pros: Clean. Friendly front desk. Accomplished manicurists (that seem to come and go) Cons: I'm not sure if it is the case entirely but rude male manicurists that I ended up with the last 3 times. Price. Rarely are walk in appointments truly available. Ambiance. Not sure why this place is so busy all the time and slong with the layout it's not a relaxing place. I used to love it but the ladies I used to get manicures from don't work there anymore. At least they got rid of the rude front desk chick with the strawberry blonde hair. Front desk is very friendly now. Try and keep whoever you find to be great and stay away from walk ins or else you will get a rude tude manicurist. Edit: The more I've thought about my experience today the more I wish I didn't tip. With further looking the pedi is not that great and I am pretty sure they up charged the hell out of my no chip mani. I've been struggling how to rate this place. I'm going between 1 and 2 stars, but I suppose things could have been worse, so I'll go with 2. I was in desperate need to get a shellac manicure before an interview. After some yelping, I decided this place was my best bet. I have had shellac done consistently for over a year, so I am very familiar with the process (I also work at a high end spa that does this as well, so I know the proper way to do a shellac manicure). The lady who greeted me was very nice, no complaints there! She told me to pick my color, which I did. I wish they were a bit more organized by brand/color but that's just a small detail. I'll skip over all the grooming part, that was fine. I did notice that she put on gloves before she massaged my hands, while others did not do this. I don't understand why she did this. As you can imagine a latex gloved massage wasn't the most relaxing, but again, whatever. Here is where I'm frustrated that I spend 30$+Tip. Instead of going into a long explanation of these issues, I'll try to keep it brief. 1). I specifically wanted the CND brand, as I am very familiar with it. However BOTH my topcoat and bottom coat were Gelish. Now, I get that these are very similar, however I SPECIFICALLY wanted to stay away from Gelish because its much rougher on the nail. Why were they not using the CND base and top coat??? 2). The nail tech was having a hard time painting my nails because the polish was pretty old and goopy. She even went to try to look for another bottle, and that too was old and goopy. She resorted to using a nail polish thinner. Management, please give your staff what they need! You are a nail salon, there should be no reason this should occur! 3). The UV machine they used was NOT a CND lamp. I'm assuming it was a $30-50$ lamp bought off Amazon. Again, if you advertise that you have CND polish, I expect you to be using the ENTIRE set, including the UV lamp it comes with. I looked over and saw that they did indeed have the lamps for the OPI gel polish, so what gives? 4). I showed my nail tech a few places my nail was breaking. She put some of the nail glue on it, but it was a disaster. Through the polish you can see the two areas she placed the glue because she did not file it down. She also didn't really do a very careful job, as I now have my skin stuck to my nail in some places, and visible clumps of superglue under my nail bed (very annoying!). 5). My top coat was very rushed and was not carefully or evenly applied. Therefore, its started to already peel from the base of the nail (This happened the DAY I got it, after I washed my hands). Given the above reasons, I am irked that I am out 30$+Tip. I don't blame the nail tech (well except for the glue part), but lack of training and proper equipment. read more

My best friend and I went to Nail Bliss although it was pretty far from where we live because we saw such good reviews on Yelp. It was our first time at this salon and we were both unimpressed and ticked off with the service. We're not going back. The atmosphere and decor were pleasant. It was very busy.There was a small wait time though we were on time for our appointment, but we didn't mind. It was my bestie's first time getting acrylics or tips put on, so she had a lot of questions for the technician. He answered them but was obviously annoyed and was rude to her the entire appointment. She explained to him in the beginning that she wanted a natural french look. Instead of putting on white tips and pink acrylic, he put on clear tips and then did a french manicure over them - obviously a tactic to charge more. During the entire time he was telling her that in order to achieve the look she had wanted, she should have instead gone for a much more expensive service (pink and white enhancements w/ forms). I know this isn't the case, so the up-sell was definitely not appreciated. My manicure turned out ok. The technician was very nice and he listened to what I wanted (size/shape wise). Everything seemed to be going well, until the very end when he charged me 5 dollars more for the service than their price list indicated. I know it was my first time there, but that doesn't mean I wasn't familiar with their prices and that I deserve go get ripped off! As I walked out of the salon and saw my nails in daylight I noticed something else. For my pink and white set he had used clear acrylic instead of pink. This is ridiculous. My nails look grey and unhealthy in natural light because the base isn't pink. WE WILL NOT RETURN. read more

One of my favorite nail spas! I came here to do my nails for my 21st and I got a light pink with a gold sparkly nail polish on my ring finger for both nails. They did an EXCELLENT job, however the guy doing my nails could definitely have smiled more. They also did a very good job on my pedicure, and the polish lasted for over 2 weeks. I would have given them a BIG 0 but, it's not available! I have been going to Nail Bliss for many years! I have been a repeat customer and have enjoyed the services! BUT, since the new owner took over, the services have gone down the drain! They charge more, example, I ALWAYS have the no chip manicure with flowers on my 2 thumbnails. When I had my last mani/pedi last June 14, I asked my nail technician, Kim, if she could paint flowers on my thumbnails and big toe nails, she charged me $3 for EACH flower! AND she didn't even do a good job! So it's supposed to be a no chip manicure which is guaranteed to last for 14 days! On day # 3, my no chip nail polish started to peel off! Since we were out of town for a wedding, I called them right away as soon as I was back in town, if I could come in to have the nails fixed. I came in the following day to have it fixed, but Kim was not working that day, and she's the ONLY one who knows the "ombré" style. I was told to call on Tuesday coz she's working that day. I did call Tuesday and was told to come in at 1 PM. I got there and was told by the owner that I ALWAYS come to have my nails fixed and that I waited for 9 days! I told her that we were out of town and I called right away on day #5, but was told that Kim will come in on Tuesday! "I DID NOT WANT TO COME AND IF YOUR NAIL TECHNICIAN DID WHAT SHE WAS SUPPOSED TO DO, THEN I WOULD NOT BE HERE!" They, Kim and the owner started to speak in Chinese, which is VERY RUDE! Walked in at 10 am with my mom with NO appointment. I wanted acrylics done and my mom a mani/pedi. They took my mom in right away, and I was told to wait until 11 am, which I was totally fine with. At about 10:30, Sue was available to take me and glued my acrylics on and shaped them. She did a WONDERFUL job, thank you Sue! At around 11, Eva filed my acrylics and painted them. She took her time and made sure my nails looked alike and beautiful. Such a sweet woman. Love the staff here. All are absolutely welcoming and so kind. The last two times my experience has been less than positive and just now it will be my last time. More specifically:. It's usually very clean and it was not and the workers usually have a definite routine so much I could probably have work there I've been there so many times I knew it. However the last two people seemed very confused and didn't know where anything was. The gentleman today did not clean up the space.. left the same dirty towel from the previous customer. He reached down on the floor into which sounded like a plastic bag and he pulled out his tools. Normally they have you wash your hands... he threw a paper towel at me. Usually there's a hand massage with lotion and hot towels... none of that. My previous manicure didn't hold up. This one looks okay but I fear it may not hold up and it will be the last time I go there. It will be V nails for me next time!! I am so beyond impressed with this place. I used to go here years ago before I moved away but was in town and desperate for the new dip manicure. When I called to make my appointment and found out my old technician was off I asked the friendly receptionist if she could request the best dip nail technician. While she explained she couldn't make such recommendations she could leave a note and her manager would. I explained multiple times that I'm very anal and detailed oriented about my nails and she assured me not to worry. Long story short I walked in and was assigned to Jack who at first seemed rushed and then surpassed all my worries!! He did such an amazing job on both my feet and fingers I wanted to hug the man lol. Idk if it was because he saw the note next to my name or he was just that good but I'll take it either way. Then after my eye brow wax she did not show me a mirror to look at them. I should have known then that she screwed up. I got in my car looked at my brows and they were sooooo thin and uneven. I had never been to this nail salon but my bff has been on numerous occassions for the no-chip mani's and loves them plus the reviews are awesome so I made the trip to nail bliss all the way from the south east side of chicago (practically Indiana). My friend and I made an appointment for the bliss pedicure and no-chip mani in preparation for a wedding we were attending in Jamaica. I was told the no-chip would hold for about 3-4 weeks so I was down for it since I wanted my nails to look top-notch for the wedding. The pedicure was fabulous but my nail tech was not talkative at all which is okay and the manicure was fabulous as well until my first few hours in Jamaica. I was literally in the pool at the resort for not more than two hours (in and out) and my no-chip nails peeled off!!! I was so disappointed because they did not even last ONE whole day in Jamaica and I only had them for a total of SIX days... I couldn't even get a weeks worth of what I paid for this service. I too feel badly that I have to rate this salon so low. It was my first time there, the girl did not listen to my instructions. Cut my nails too short, and polished my fingers in a color that I did not like. I had asked if I could include the tip on my credit card, and she said "no, I would like cash". After sleeping on this turn of events I called the salon back and told them of my story. They did make good and re polished my nails to a better color. But they had the same girl do this as who messed it up in the first place. It turned into an inquisition type meeting, with a supervisor type, the girl and I. They were speaking in a language I could not understand, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. As it turned out to be a "she said she said" situation. My absolute FAVORITE nail salon. I started going in the Summer of 2011 and haven't stopped! The pedicures are my favorite. I've brought my best friend here, and my twin sister! They are friendly, do a fantastic job, and it lasts forever! They are also one of the few salons that don't mind it when I bring in my own nail polishes. The salon itself is very clean and I love the sparkly decor with the flooring and lighting. I never feel uncomfortable and they are accommodating even when I show up close to their closing hours. They've never rushed me and go above and beyond to make sure I'm comfortable every step of the way. My twin sister who normally got her pedicures done at the mall said she will ONLY go to Nail Bliss (and she lives in Racine, WI!) from now on because of their wonderful service. Probably the best mani pedi out there. It comes with a good massage and great selection of nail colors. They take their time and do a quality job. I don't recommend getting your eye brows done here however. That is the only reason I took off a star. The woman doing my brows took too much from the middle after I specifically asked not too.
