Literally with one hand holding the shellac machine while twisting my other hand to paint it. I couldn't imagine how else you would ruin an otherwise fabulous pedicure!!! Nail polish turned out matte which was odd for shellac. Positive: Amazing choices for pedicures options and scents!!! Any nail color option. My pedicure tech was awesome! It was clean and had a great vibe. I really wish I could have enjoyed it and relaxed as I was hoping to do! I will come back but never for any type of manicure. I let with my cuticles bleeding from how hard the person went at my cuticles. On top of that, I brought in a picture of a design that I wanted to modify. They could not understand what I wanted to change. I asked at least three different ways. All I wanted to do was rotate the spiderweb from the bottom of the nail to the top of the nail. In one of the corners of my ring nail. She couldn't understand that. One hand is so much better done than the other and I had to ask for a second coat on my tips since the black tips were opaque. When I asked about my bleeding nail, they said they'd put antiseptic on it but there's nothing else they could do. I spent $60 on black French tips and I'm in pain on several cuticles. I was seconds away from walking out when I was seated, I was not looking forward to another horrible nail tech. I did not get the guys name, but I must say the reviews were NOT my experience. I've visited this salon in the past to get acrylic manicures and I've always been pretty pleased with the service. But today has definitely changed my disposition towards this shop. My friend and I came to get a regular no-chip along with a fill-in for an acrylic set. She was taken care of first (no issue, i get how long sets can take) but i was seated off to the side waiting for someone to take care of me. It wasn't until 20 minutes later a tech (who was working on another client) came and simply applied cuticle oil to my nail beds. After waiting an additional 15-20 minutes, i was approached by a different tech but at that point my friends fill-in was done and I didn't want to have to make her wait (since we're both on schedules). The whole reason for appointments is to establish set times where clients can get their nails done with the intention of being timely and mindful of the business they have in their day. It felt crummy to not only have to wait 30-40 minutes to get service after making appointments, but also to see other open nail techs take other clients who just arrived versus someone who had been waiting. (Only gave it two stars bc the tech did offer to give me a free mani but unfortunately due to my schedule as a working college student with finals, I could not stay passed the appointed time) read more

First of all , the guy who did my nails wasn't even listening to what I need, he said he will do the best for me and ended up making my chrome acrylics so bad that as soon as I came home my husband said, what did you do to your nails? Based on the reviews, I decided to try out this salon. The pedicure was "ok", I LOVE pedicures and the guy that did my service was clueless as to what I wanted. After telling him which pedicure I wanted he brought out the wrong items. Finally, someone assisted him (a younger guy) and he went back to get the correct items. The paint job was not neat AT ALL!y expectations were higher, some may not mind, but I like a sharp and clean polish job. I spent 65.00 and in my opinion it wasn't worth it. Horrible horrible horrible! I went in to have two nails replaced and a fill. they talked me into getting my nails soaked off and starting over. They put $.50 worth of acetone in a bowl had me put my fingers in it and left me for an hour. In the meantime they did three customers nails that came in after me. When I finally said I'm leaving because by this time my skin was burning she said I will be right with you. I said never mind just tell me how much I owe you for soaking the nails off. They also didn't get me the color that I chose from the displayed nail (I chose pink and they gave me purple) I wish I didn't decide to go here and go to my regular place but they were closed. I used to love coming here when they first opened. They used to open a new set of tools from a sealed package for every customer. A few months ago I noticed my toenails turned white after taking nail polish off from their pedicure. I researched and saw it is fungus that could be from a number of things including wearing shoes too tight. So after it cleared up I went back to get my nails done again. I guess I was more observant than before and wasn't happy to see that tools were just grabbed from the same cart that was used before me. I also observed the manicure station next to me where the tools literally did not leave the table between customers. This has been an eye opening experience, which is sad because this is the only place I've gotten my nails done at for over 4 years. read more

I went in for the first and only time on a Friday. By Monday, the paint on my big toe was already chipping... I wonder if the thinner the tech put in the polish while I was sitting there had anything to do with that. The callus removal was terrible, they focused on the balls of my feet when my heels are peeling. The tech also didn't trim back the sides of my big toenails that try to ingrow, so I had to take care of that myself. Definitely not worth the $45 bucks. read more

Just had a top 3 mani/pedi of my life. Relaxing, clean environment. Soooooo many polish choices - probably triple what I've seen anywhere else. I got the OPI pedi. It was fabulous, but I instantly wished I had mega upgraded because, if my "basic" pedi was so phenomenal, their upgraded pedis must be exponentially better. I enjoyed their massage pedi chair a lot (different and better than others I've experienced). Music was calm but fun. The whole place was super calm and relaxing. My mani was done by John, who seems to be the owner and/or manager. He did a great job. I'm very happy with my experience and I will absolutely go there again, should I be in the Springfield area again (I'm just visiting for a few days). I wish we had a place like this in my hometown! Excellent service! I came in as a walk in for a pedi, my nail tech was great. He took his time, was patient and did an amazing job. I opted for the "honey dew me" pedicure, and my feet look and feel amazing. He did an excellent job on the paint as well. The atmosphere is very relaxing, not loud and chaotic. In the pedicure room they keep the lights dim, it was nice. I believe they offer drinks here, wine maybe? I heard they had quit doing that but seen they had wines on display, I'll defiantly check it out next time! This is off the beating path of the hustle and bustle of Springfield but so worth it! When I first walked in, I thought I had made a mistake wanting a pedicure because there were no pedicure chairs....but there is a whole big back room full of them. The chairs are great at massaging. They have a whole menu you can choose from of pedicure types. I chose the honey dew. Service was amazing. The staff is very friendly. Mimi is the cutest thing! She was so fun to talk to. The ambience is nice, music is good, and I indulged in the lavender Jelly Pedi. It's on the expensive side, but well worth it! Will never go back to this salon. Gave them a second chance after my last bad experience- which took over 2.5 hours for a fill and a pedi (even with an appointment) and not great results, but I try to be understanding and give second chances because everyone has bad days. Went in for a new full set (had an appointment again- I don't think they even look at schedules) due to a couple of breakages. Asked the tech to be very careful several times due to breaks and weak nails. Waited patiently for an hour soaking off the remnants of two acrylics while other tech finished up with another customer. The second I sat down, he grabbed my hand with the nail drill and ripped off the top of my real nail, way below the nail bed. They apologized, gave me a bandaid, and charged me ten dollars for the soak off. I will never set foot in here again nor recommend them. They may be nice, but they are careless. read more

Terrible,waste of time, lack of communication and two less customers!!!!!! Wife booked 2 appointments for 1:30. We both had our feet in for our initial soak. They started on the wife's pedicure as I sat and waiting. We chatted about when mine would start but no one paid any attention to us even the guy doing her nails. Then another technician showed with another client and guess what ...... they started her and I'm still waiting and still no communication. That was around 2:00. About 2:15 or so I take my feet out of the water because the wife is nearly done and my skin was pruning. Then ANOTHER technician and ANOTHER customer...... my feet were dry I tell the wife I'm done and not going to get my pedicure. The technicians being chatting and one of the gals who was STILL working on another customer decides to come to be and say sorry about your wait and tried to start the next step in my process ......WAIT -REMEMBER I SAID SHE WAS STILL WORKING ON SOMEONE ELSE - COVID MY ASS. I looked at the wife knowing we didn't have time and asked DO WE HAVE TIME? She gently said no and I told the technician politely no thank you we have no more time. I left to wait in the car so I didn't inhale anymore fumes. You think that would have been enough NOPE!!!!!!!!! My wife had to wait five minutes for our "service". I love this place! I'm new to the Springfield area and after reading some reviews decided to try them out. I never went anywhere else! They always do a great job with my nails. The facility is always clean and the employees are always friendly. Nail salon workers back home won't talk to you the entire time you're there. It makes it kind of awkward. But at Nail Bar 66 they are very social and jovial. I've read previous reviews where someone felt "fat shamed" and that there was a "locker room mentality" or "racist remarks". I've gone every 2 weeks for the past 5 months and I've never witnessed that type of behavior. I'm a larger woman and they always make me feel comfortable. They actually interact with you which I feel is a good thing. My nails always look amazing (I always get compliments). Sometimes I just pick a color and I can't think of a design to do and they'll make suggestions to help make them look nicer or I give them free range to do a design and I've never been disappointed. And it doesn't feel like they suggest a design just to upcharge you (I've never been charged extra for that). The male techs do an amazing job, just as the women. Received a gift certificate for nail bar and the first time I went there got a manicure. Sitting at the bar was uncomfortable and made my legs fall asleep. The second time I went there I got the inexperienced tech who did some sloppy work shaping and polishing my nails. I noticed all the good techs do the acrylic/specialty nails. The second-best do the regular manicures. The staff is polite enough. But the nail bar experience is very uncomfortable. Also it feels crowded up front.
