This a review for their amazing buffet. For a reasonable cost of $12.99 (Tuesday-Friday from 11 AM- 3pm) you can try an endless amount of such delicious and flavorful array of dishes. They seem to have a daily rotation of dishes, which is nice. This affordable price is personally what keeps us coming back for more, especially with everything getting so expensive in this current economy. Ambience: The restaurant is quite large and can accommodate a lot of guests. Buffet: Everything is kept clean and they are constantly checking the dishes to see if they need to be refilled or swapped with a fresh batch. The butter chicken and fish pakora are also delicious. They also ask what naan you'd like and I always order the garlic one. Keep in mind it's a bit of a wait as they make it fresh to order. The bread is so soft, fluffy, and flavorful The staff are highly friendly and observant. They always ensure we have enough water and I really appreciate it. My first visit to the Nagina Palace was absolutely wonderful. As soon as you walk in you can smell the spices - that alone makes you hungry. The restaurant is beautifully decorated so that you feel like you are in India. The menu is extensive so you have so many choices. I recommend the pakora and the chicken biranyi. You have your choice of mild, medium, and spicy so you can enjoy your meal without worrying about the heat level. The portions are large so you'll have some to take home. The waiter was wonderful and helpful. I know that I'll definitely be back. They also do take-out that you can order on their website. Highly recommended for Indian food lovers. read more

Went and had their lunch Buffet on a recommendation. Place is clean plenty of space and natural lighting. They do have a bar at the place too. Food was delicious. I can't remember all what we ate from the buffet but it was all pretty good. Keep in mind we ate only from the buffet and it was plenty to choose from to get you full. Horrible customer service from the moment we walked in. We had to seat ourselves and waited about 10 minutes before finally receiving menus. We were never greeted, and the two waiters came across as rude and unwelcoming. They were slamming plates and utensils around, which made the atmosphere feel tense and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, there were flies inside the restaurant and dead flies on the windowsill, making the place feel unclean and poorly maintained. I moved to Turlock 2 years ago. I have been looking for good restaurants and good food at reasonable prices. I finally found one. I like Indian cuisine and this place is spectacular. I wish I had found it sooner. The Chili Chicken is a taste explosion and the Goat Marsala was delicious. Even the plain Nan was tasty. I cant wait to sample the Buffett so I can try their other dishes and I express from my heart that if you like Indian cuisine you cant go wrong here and if you never tried Indian food before, I suggest you try theirs. I went 40 years before I tried Indian cuisine and now I cant get enough. I went 2 years living in Turlock and I thought I would have to move to find a good restaurant but now I have Nagina Palace, Texas Roadhouse and the Eggs Benedict at Huckleberrys. We have been here before. The food is great. Very flavorful and lots of vegetarian and vegan options. The wait staff were super slow, inattentive and gave the vibe of "don't bother me" we were there as a large group, off hours, so maybe the wait staff wasn't the usual? Red lipstick found on a water cup was shown to the server and with no apology she took a wine glass from a separate table and abruptly placed it on the table. No used dishes cleared from the table to make a crowded space easier to manage, and no containers offered for leftovers. Had to find staff to check out. Rough visit - still good food though. We ordered eggplant, chicken, okra, naan, and keena (naan with lamb inside). Food was really tasty and they include a lot more pieces of chicken and veggies than what I'm used to at some of the other Indian restaurants. Definitely a plus. The only dish that was a bit disappointing was the keena (naan with minced lamb ). They can definitely benefit from hiring someone who speaks better English and knows what eggplant is (since it's on the menu). It was really difficult ordering over the phone. I asked one worker what she really likes in the non-vegetarian section (not necessarily what most customers order) and she recommended the Butter Chicken. It was super rich(!) and buttery, as expected. Almost too rich, but still real good. Chicken was juicy unlike other places.. nice I think they used dark meat too instead of only white meat. She convinced me to get medium spicy since the hotter level would be too much, but if you're a spice lover then you could do it. Medium had a tingle but wasn't overboard. Mixed vegetables had cauliflower, snow peas, zucchini, carrots, peas, onions in a light curry seasoning. Though most of the veg seemed from a frozen bag, but still good if you're looking for a "lighter" non-meat side. This is an update to my prior review seen above. Yesterday, (12-30-2023) I called Nagina Palace as two members of our family wanted to try an Indian food NYE. As NP is on our way from Modesto to the other member's home, it seemed an easy fix. I called the place and had some difficulty with the person who picked up the phone. She didn't seem to understand that I wanted to give (and pay for) our order the day before. After going back and forth a few times, it became apparent that this was going nowhere, so I told her I would call back today (the 31st). Unfortunately for NP, that gave me time and motivation to look around, and after consulting Yelp, we decided on another place, Mother India in Ceres. We've tried this restaurant twice now. Both times there were no more than 3 tables. The young woman at the front that seated us is incredibly rude and seems put out that we are there. Service is incredibly slow. The food is really great which is why we returned and hoped for a better experience. The waitress is constantly buried in her phone and fails to bring the check or boxes, we had to go ask her both times. She seemed annoyed we interrupted her. Before I could even box my food, someone came and specifically took the leftover sauces. I explained to him I wanted to take them and he said no, and rushed off with them. I let the waitress know and she advised we could not take the sauces we paid for. I protested and she finally brought some from the kitchen. Unfortunately, we will not be back. read more

I put my to go order online to avoid waiting but when I got to the restaurant, my husband was told that it would be 30 minutes. An hour later the food was finally brought out. We repeatedly asked for the food and kept being told it would be "soon". We took the food home only to find out that it was all cold. We ordered the tandoori chicken plate and butter chicken spicy with basmati rice, garlic Naan and an appetizer with potatoes and peas in it (I can't remember what it was called). We got in right at 11am on our way to Yosemite. We ordered Pani puri and baigan Bharta with naan for two people which was a good portion size. The Pani puri turned out better than expected and the Pani (only tamarind) had a good balance of sweet and salty flavor. Baigan Bharta (medium) was still a little on the spicier side, so get mild if heat is not what you're looking for. I came for lunch buffet. I was by myself and I had some paperwork to do. Lunch buffet was served I believe until 3 PM, so I spent at least an hour and a half there. There were several items on the buffet.. Some were obvious, but few to none were labeled. Another thing that I noticed was that there was not huge portions of each buffet item displayed, /just sitting there , not even much rice . But, they refilled each item as needed. But this is pretty cool, because the items appeared to be fresher, rather than just sitting there all day. I especially enjoyed the tandoori chicken and the naan. When I was seated, my server asked me if I wanted garlic naan or plain naan, and then I was served a basket of warm naan. At other Indian buffet as I've seen the naan on the buffet itself, and it is a little less fresh and fluffy, and when it serve directly to you. They also brought me a whole pitcher of water, which I appreciate it because the service was fine but a lot of time when I go out to Indian food I end up drinking a lot of water and I liked having it right there next to me. We walked in around 6:30PM on Thursday and were the only table, and within 10 minutes 3 other groups walked in. As soon as I walked in; I was welcomed by a strong scent of Indian food. Food: *Butter Chicken (4.5 stars) - Have you ever had bad butter chicken? I don't think so. This version has a red creamy sauce with chunks of tender Tandori chicken. Great to dip with naan. *Malai Kofta (4.5 stars) - I especially like how creamy the sauce, which seems to come from the cashew. I tried the medium, but would definitely go for spicy next time. The kofta was yummy, but pretty small. *Lamb Biryani (4 stars) - First of, if you consider lots of lamb to be a great value like my friend, you'd like this dish. The rice came in the shape of an upside-down cake with a flat top. The flavor was there from all the spices (clove, pepper, fennel), but the bad part was that each bite you will taste the whole spices too. I spent some time picking out all the spices because they were just to strong for my taste. *Bindi/Okra (4 stars) - Good option if you are looking to bring a healthier option into the otherwise rather heavy meal. Nice flavor with onion and tomato. *Masala Chicken Curry (3 stars) - Not saucy, chicken was stringy, flavor was decent, but nothing special so don't recommend. read more
