We were driving back down to San Diego from the Bay Area and found ourselves starving at around 9pm and wanted to find real food - not just junk fast food. We were surprised to see an Indian restaurant attached to an Arco. We decided to try it and it was absolutely delicious. We had lamb biriyani with cucumber yogurt sauce, and chicken tikka marsala with naan. The food tasted authentic and was hearty and comforting. The worker gave us free Indian coffee and was most attentive. The restaurant is clean and tidy and had many tables to be seated at. I was very impressed with the overall meal especially since we thought all we would find out in the middle of nowhere was McDonald's.

I am not en expert in Indian food, but I do eat it frequently and at many different places around the Valley and California, and I typically order the same dishes to get a good comparison. I typically order Chicken Tikka Masala because I like the flavor and the chicken is better because it's chicken Tikka as opposed to Butter chicken which is just chicken chunks. This Chicken Tikka Masala did not have chicken tikka. I am not bothered that the color wasn't red like we usually see, but I am bothered that it wasn't Tikka chicken and the flavor was almost exactly the same as the veggie korma I ordered. I have never had korma sauce like this. It was boring and tasted almost exactly like the Chicken Tikka Masala. Also, the veggies seemed like a frozen blend. The Naan was fine, but on the thin side. I thought that because the food took so long to make (30 minutes) that it would be good - but it was the most disappointing Indian food I have ever had. It was also expensive compared to other restaurants I frequent.

God was great! Lots of Vegan options for my Son... Chicken Tikka was great! We'll be back.

What a surprising find this delicious restaurant was, thanks to signs we saw along the highway on a road trip. We didn't find it at first, not expecting it to be connected to an AM/PM at the gas station! I'm guessing the owner has the whole bldg and both businesses. The food is definitely authentic Indian. Husband got a curry he loved, and I got a very good chicken dish with saffron rice and lots of veggies. We also got the garlic naan - be SURE to order some, it's homemade (everything is) and so yummy. We dipped it in the curry sauce which tasted wonderful. The service was excellent. You order at the counter and it's then brought to the table. Our server was patient and attentive. Although by the looks of it it's a very casual restaurant, in our experience the service was that of a sit down. He even gave full table service to a very elderly couple who didn't know to order at the register. Clean place and good prices, especially for this quality of Indian food. We plan on returning for sure on our next road trip through the area!

Incredible, Awesome and unsuspecting Family-Own Indian restaurant by a gas station! So glad our GPS got us lost there, we found a real gem!! Thank you so much for an amazing time, your tasty food and an above and beyond service coming right from your heart!

Food was good, service was excellent. The chicken tikka masala felt like it could use a little more flavor, but the garlic naan, onion bread, and vegetable pakoras were all very flavorful.

Hidden Gem! We ordered Butter Naan, Chicken Tikka & Plain Rice. The workers were super friendly and gave their recommendations. Naan was soo good! Toasty + Soft. Chicken had good flavor and not too spicy. Rice was soft & airy A lot of people order to go & don't dine in since this location is in a stop & go place for travelers. It was a bit warm in there they only had fans and no ac. Definitely would stop by again & try other food items from the menu

Perfect from beginning to end! Generous, tasty, and so enjoyable. Try the complimentary pickles which are mild.

The service was amazing from start to finish. We ordered samosas, aloo tikki, garlic cheese stuffed naan, butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, and chole (the chickpea dish), along with rice. Everything was packed with flavor. The samosas were incredible, the aloo tikki was one of my favorites, and that garlic cheese stuffed naan was absolutely amazing. One thing I really appreciated was that the entrees came out in their own individual serving dishes. Everything looked great and tasted even better. We ended up with a ton of food, plenty of leftovers, and for three people the total was under $100, which was honestly impressive considering how much we ordered. As we were leaving, the gentleman who greeted us when we arrived checked on us and seemed concerned that we were taking food to go. I just wanted to make sure he and the restaurant know that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food. My family just isn't the type to sit in restaurants for long once we're full. We eat, enjoy our meal, and take the leftovers home. The food was beyond exceptional, the service was wonderful, and we will definitely be back. Thank you for such a great experience!

The perfect ending to a Yosemite adventure -- and now a mandatory stop…read more We rolled in at 3pm on Memorial Day, fresh off a 3-day camping trip in Yosemite -- dusty, starving, and craving something real. A table full of hungry campers with high expectations. This kitchen delivered on every single one. The tawa rotis arrived impossibly fresh, like they knew we were coming. The butter naan was a revelation for the kids -- soft, warm, and buttery enough that they stopped talking mid-bite (any parent knows what an achievement that is). The classics -- daal makhni and malai kofta -- were ordered mild for the little ones and came out exactly as requested: deeply flavorful, soul-warming, and exactly what exhausted bodies needed after days on the trail. But the grand finale is what earned this review its own paragraph. The warmed up gajar halwa was extraordinary -- loaded with nuts, rich with milk fats, and sweetened with a perfectly restrained hand. This wasn't a shortcut version. Someone back there cares about doing it right. Paired with the warm gulab jamun, it was a proper, dignified end to the meal. This is true dhaba cooking -- honest, nourishing, and made with pride. We're already planning our next Sierra trip around a stop here. Absolute gem.

Host/waiter asked us to sit down where we would like. However, even though it was empty, it took him a good 15-20 minutes to bring us a menu once we sat down. The entrées were decent, however the Naan appeared to be store bought, not freshly made. We enjoyed our veggie samosas, orders of chicken tikka masala (medium and spicy), and rice. When it was time to pay, things became a little odd. We were using a credit card, and our waiter popped up front to tell us that they don't receive the tip if we leave it on the card, and instructed us to leave cash on the table. We almost always leave a cash tip for our servers anyway, but will choose to hand it to them, and not leave it on the table where it might "walk off" with someone else. So, I asked two different employees to ask our waiter to come up so I could give him his tip. He refused, even though they asked him multiple times. It was strange in my opinion. Below is a review I thought I had already posted from our previous experiences. This was my last review, it was unpublished: The last few times we went were a miss for us. The food is still wonderful, pretty much the best in the area (taste wise). However, we have not gone as often as we would like for several reasons. 1. They used to include the rice with an entrée if it was for dine in only. We realized that early on when we would dine and also have food to go. They charged us for the to-go rice. Now, they don't include rice at all, it is an extra charge. So, the price of the whole meal goes up. 2. The last few times they were very slow to bring the food. 3. When it was hot outside, they did not have the A/C on or if it was on it wasn't very cool inside.
