First of all it's free. It was a great place to unwind and hang out after being in design district

I recently discovered the new Nader Sculpture Park in the Design District. The 50 sculptures on display are part of the collection of Gary Nader. I was familiar with Mr. Nader from having visited the Nader Contemporary Art Gallery in Wynwood which specializes in modern art. Gary Nader began his art career as the director of the Nader Gallery of Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. In 1981 he moved to the United States to set up a gallery specializing in Latin American Art in Miami where he became an established expert on the subject. Gary Nader Fine Art opened in Coral Gables in 1992. The free to visit Nader Contemporary Art Gallery is a 55,000 sq. exhibition space in Wynwood and it is the largest private gallery in the world. It is composed of the Gary Nader Private Collection, the Exhibition Gallery and a sculpture park. The gallery hosts solo and group exhibitions showcasing sculptures, photos, paintings, and drawings by Modern and Contemporary artists from around the world including Botero, Warhol, Godfarb, Matisse, Monet, Torres Garcia, Lichtenstein, and Picasso. The sculpture park in the Design District is also free to visit. It was created to enhance Miami's reputation as an international art hub. There is no shade in the outdoor area but the weather was very comfortable thanks to a recent cold front so it was the perfect day to visit. The opening of the sculpture park coincided with Art Week. The modern art sculptures that make up the exhibition were created by internationally known artists such as Fernando Botero, Richard Hudson, Frank Stella, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Olafur Eliasson, Jeff Koons, Yayoi Kusama, Rufino Tamayo, Alexander Calder, Bernar Venet, Rachel Valdés, Jesús Rafael Soto, Agustín Cárdenas, Sophia Vari, Oswaldo Vigas, and Robert Indiana. The design of the sculpture park was created by Bea Pernia, an interior designer and founder of BEA Interiors Design. In addition to serving as a place to display art, the sculpture park is an also an event venue for cultural programs, fashion shows, concerts, and private events.

This sculpture garden very cool. Looks like they are working on putting more sculptures but there's is plenty to look at and very interesting.

This exhibit was so much fun!!! Located at Mana Wynwood…read moreConvention center, there is a private lot for it, but since it's located in Wynwood there is also plenty of street parking available. I came with a group of friends and we purchased our tickets online in advance and each adult ticket was about $56. They require time slots to ensure the exhibits are not over crowded at any point in time which we realized was very helpful while we were there. Once we entered the convention center, we made the line and were led into the first room and from then on we were able to walk into each next room at our own pace which was nice because we weren't being rushed despite the time slots on our tickets. There was at least one attendant in each room where the art exhibit was not meant to be touched or stood on. There were so many interesting photo and video opportunities throughout the exhibit. Which was awesome, but experiencing it is completely different (videos and pictures are not as fun. Some of the installations are interactive and of course this is a family friendly exhibit so that is something to keep in mind as there were a lot of children present and at moments it was very loud and rowdy. My only complaint is that the only way to get to the bathroom was either way the very beginning or very end of the experience, so if you needed to use the bathroom halfway through, you would have to walk through the entire museum to get to the restroom. At the very end there is a gift shop where they had tons of balloon art, toys and cute trinkets for purchase. They also had a seating area and a cafe with some sandwiches, pastries and refreshments. Overall a cool experience and I would recommend this to anyone with children, or someone looking for a cute date idea.

So, this is a bit of a complex review to write because the take-away is that I loved my visit, but…read morethe experience left me wanting more, mainly because the subject matter of the main exposition was just not my cup of tea, but I can see how it would appeal to the Miami community because of their love for sports. The setting and location could not be better - totally breathtaking. Views of the causeway and Biscayne Bay / Downtown Miami are amazing. The architectural details with concrete and MCM inspired wooden accents are just perfect. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, and definitely added to our experience, and the gift shop is great. The restaurant is excellent and has a thoughtful menu, with several items that are inspired by pieces from the permanent collection. The sports art exhibit took much more space than I would have liked. There is a LOT of money in Miami, and I would have expected a permanent collection or even visiting exposition that would rival museums in New York, Philadelphia, or Washington, DC. - modern art, Impressionism, renaissance, or other fine art would be incredible. That being said, I will definitely return to enjoy the museum, and look forward to seeing where their artistic directors take things in years to come!

The taxes and fees-added up to approx $10 more than the original price so $85 for two tickets. Google maps got us there and we eventually found the $15 self parking lot across the street. This was not well marked. Valet at the location was $20. We saw a little cafe area where they served some light food and drinks. Also a garden area out front with hammocks and chickens :-) The Ice Palace studio is on the outskirts of Wynwood, an artsy section of Miami with murals, graffiti, coffee shops, bars , cafes and boutiques. We were able to enter the exhibit earlier than our assigned time after a few photos at the selfie station. The entrance was dark and we walked into a maze like room with large written digital displays of Van Gogh's story, Vincent and his brother Theo. The main room was the actual digital display of his artwork in a 360 degrees art story played to music. It was very beautiful and filled the large room as we stood in the middle and took it all in. Some older than us has small fold up seats as younger sat on the floor. The room was not overcrowded mid week. There were two filled small benches but no other seating, my only complaint. I thought i saw ads showing spaced seating in the room, however i could be mistaken. It was not a long show and i believe you could stay and watch it again as it appeared to repeat itself. We stayed and watched the beginning over again. All in all we were there approx 2 hours. I'm happy i went and learned some history of this wonderful artist and the digital display was very beautiful. I think the Van Gogh's themselves would have been very impressed.
