The best magical moment
Michael T.

Magical and transportive experience for those able to let the music and visuals take you away. Not for everyone. We absolutely loved every moment. From walking the room during the scene changes to sitting on the floor as it moved underneath you, to taking wonderful headshots and videos. If you read Van Gogh's story in the initial room it allows you to sit in the gallery and see the scenes in real life as he did through his tortured and unique POV. The sadness and beauty in his work comes to life and being in it, you feel it. Valet parking was clutch.

First time here, we went on a weekday at 10am ( I highly recommend going early if you want to take pics, this is an older crowd and they are there to enjoy it and they dont hog up the good pic spots BUT they will judge you) def smaller exhibit than I hoped for but it was well done, started on time, they have valet ($20- but worth it because its not the best spot and saves time on looking for parking) they also have a cafe and the food was actually delicious. (They also have alcohol, which is a plus) i do think its a bit pricey but if you wanna do it for the gram, I recommend it. They also have a super cute gift shop!

This museum is fantastic; it's a must-see in Miami. I highly recommend seeing the brief documentary movie at the start of the trip. This museum is bursting with great examples of his work! Not to add that moving art is an experience in and of itself. The gift shop also has the cutest souvenirs! The bathrooms are clean and there's enough space for large and small groups.

The Van Gogh interactive experience. It's nothing like the museum in Amsterdam but definitely an enjoyable experience. The entire thing is two rooms so take your time going through it as there is a lot to absorb. See photos to get an idea of what to expect.

Super cool experience! A very unique and immersive art experience. If you love art, this is for you! If you love Van Gough, this is for you! If you love immersive experiences, this is for you! If you want to experience something new and different, this is for you! If you live in Miami, this if for you! Go early as it will get crowded!

It's literally looking at screens of art. A giant screensaver. No true connection to the art.

So, this is a bit of a complex review to write because the take-away is that I loved my visit, but…read morethe experience left me wanting more, mainly because the subject matter of the main exposition was just not my cup of tea, but I can see how it would appeal to the Miami community because of their love for sports. The setting and location could not be better - totally breathtaking. Views of the causeway and Biscayne Bay / Downtown Miami are amazing. The architectural details with concrete and MCM inspired wooden accents are just perfect. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful, and definitely added to our experience, and the gift shop is great. The restaurant is excellent and has a thoughtful menu, with several items that are inspired by pieces from the permanent collection. The sports art exhibit took much more space than I would have liked. There is a LOT of money in Miami, and I would have expected a permanent collection or even visiting exposition that would rival museums in New York, Philadelphia, or Washington, DC. - modern art, Impressionism, renaissance, or other fine art would be incredible. That being said, I will definitely return to enjoy the museum, and look forward to seeing where their artistic directors take things in years to come!

In all the years that I lived in Miami, I never once visited Viscaya; I live in shame. Mostly…read morebecause when you're local the mentality is, "why pay to see a fancy house? you can drive by coral gables or south beach and see them for free". I will say, the grounds are absolutely delightful, especially if you go in the Springtime as we did where flowers are all in full bloom, that alone is worth the ticket price. The architecture is exquisite! A feast for the eyes in so many ways. When we came to visit, they were doing renovations. You could see the water damage on the roof and walls, probably caused by one of the many Summer storms, because of that the tickets were at a discount that day but we were still able to appreciate the beauty of Viscaya. There are two cafe's. One in the garden of the main house, and another across the street where farm animals use to be kept. Surprisingly, the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The day we were there, a wedding was going to take place and there was a lot of commotion going on. Fancy tables being set up, fine china, crystal glasses, the whole works. We asked a security guard how much it costs to have a wedding reception there and he said: "Just to rent the space, no tables, no nothing, starting price is 100k". So if you have 100k lying around, and plan to get married soon, this could be an option for you. Jokes aside though; I'd definitely visit again.

From the moment you walk onto the property, you're surrounded by stunning architecture, beautiful landscaping, and so much history. The mansion itself is incredible, with each room offering something unique. The attention to detail in the design, the antiques, and the artwork really make it feel like you're walking through a piece of European history right in the middle of Miami. You can take your time exploring, and there's always something new to notice. The gardens were my favorite part. They're beautifully maintained, with fountains, statues, and pathways that make it fun to just wander around and take everything in. Plus, the views along Biscayne Bay are absolutely gorgeous and add such a peaceful vibe to the whole experience. It's the perfect place if you're looking for something different from the typical Miami attractions. Whether you're into history, photography, or just want a relaxing place to explore, this is definitely worth the visit. I would absolutely recommend adding it to your list! Her service was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly, the kind that turns a simple coffee stop after a nice visit to the museum into a cool experience. Every sip was warming, but what stood out most was Erika's a d her colleague welcoming energy and care. It's a wonderful little add-on to an already fantastic day at the museum with your family, friends and even date. Bonus: they also offer food options like fries, hamburgers, and chicken nuggets, making it a great spot to recharge during your visit. Highly recommended! As well as the planetarium show, it is 100% worth the extra add on to the ticket.

This is a GREAT place for both toddlers and older kids, and even for parents who have a newborn and need a place to get out rain or shine. Lots of nice outdoor places and indoor spaces to explore. We love the aquariums-- so many great exhibits. Plus the view from the roof is stunning. I do hope the animals are treated well here as this is always a big question for me. Many zoos/ aquariums/sanctuaries in Miami and in Florida have very bad reputations on treatment and care of their animals/ only profit oriented so do your research and read Reddit! But so far Frost is one of the better ones out there in Florida that I have found! One negative- the food is pricey and doesn't taste good so bring your own lunch/ picnic and eat at the outdoor tables or grassy area-- lots of space to enjoy!! We are annual members and come here often with our kiddo!
