I've gone through two separate primary care doctors just to get the referral--both were approved by my insurance. I've filled out piles of paperwork, completed their long online questionnaires, and submitted every document they asked for. Despite doing everything right, they still won't schedule the appointment. Every time I call to follow up (which I've had to do over and over), they come up with some new excuse to delay or deny my care. First, they said they needed to contact my pulmonologist. What if I didn't even have one? Then they demanded EKG results from the past six months--what if I've never had an EKG? Are they going to deny me care for that too? It's obvious they're inventing hoops for patients to jump through just to cover themselves. I've had major medical procedures in the past that never required this level of documentation or bureaucracy. What they're doing is not just frustrating--it's outright denial of care. I even got my insurance company on a three-way call with them to confirm everything was approved, and the insurance rep told them directly that I was cleared to proceed. They still refused to schedule the appointment. To top it all off, their call center is outsourced to the Philippines, staffed with people who barely speak English, are rude, untrained, and totally incompetent. There is zero follow-up, no accountability, and no one actually trying to help the patient. This is healthcare at its absolute worst. Avoid this office like the plague. If you value your time, your sanity, or your health--go somewhere else.

But nobody, not even the good ones, can touch the level of care that Shor provides. He is off-the-charts smart, and he's dedicated to highly individualized care. He is open-minded but conservative, and his instincts are to be relied on without hesitation. He is also an exceptionally kind and decent man. When my daughter was quite ill and running low on options, Shor stepped in and saved the day. Since then, he's provided her with first-rate care as her general practitioner. I've had severe allergies all my life, and Dr. Nsouli is the fourth one I've seen over the past twenty years. He's definitely been one of the top two, mostly because he realized that one reason why I have trouble staying awake (something I thought was completely irrelevant but he asked about it anyway) was because the allergy medication I was currently taking made me sleepy. No other doctor I've seen ever made this connection. When you have to get refills on your allergy serum, you always meet up with a nurse practitioner, not Dr. Nsouli himself. I imagine this is standard protocol, since the good Dr.'s time is valuable and you're not going because of a problem, you just need a refill on meds.

If ever I have an "emergency" they can squeeze me in within a day or two, although I might have to wait awhile once I get there. As for regular appointments the doctor is usually running a bit behind, I won't lie, but I like him so much I don't mind waiting. In fact I'm not the only one who likes him, my whole family does. My mom, dad, 3 brothers, 2 sister in laws, best friend, and I all go to Dr. Chudha. It's quite amusing actually because sometimes we bump into each other in the waiting room. He's very patient, thorough, can be funny, and makes you feel very comfortable. I highly recommend him.

My Doctor Bao Nguyen is the best doctor. I challenge anyone to tell me that their doctor is better…read morethan mine. Dr. Nguyen's listens to your every concern. No matter how far fetched it might be. He takes in concerns from head to toe. He is not one of those doctors who say I can only check one thing at a time. He is friendly, funny and very caring. He checks you out throughly. After finishing he prints out all referrals you need and gives you a summary of everything we went over. This doctor is extraordinary. If you ever visit him you will see what I'm talking about. The staff is awesome also. When ever I call them they answer with 5 minutes. You never have to be caller#20 and you never had to wait 50 minutes or more like other offices. The staff is so friendly and personable. Going to this office is a joy.

During the past thirty years Dr. Manalo has performed three colonoscopies, two sigmoidoscopies and two endoscopies on me. In each case my recovery was outstanding and I did not experience any problems. I have felt fully confident in his diagnosis which has led me back to him each time. He is a calm professional who treats his patients with the utmost respect and does not skip around the facts. He will explain in clear terms any condition he may find and provides solid recommendations for possible treatments. He does not push his patients into making decisions and ensures that they fully understand the pros and cons of how symptoms could and should be treated. During his time as my family's general medicine practitioner his diagnosis of any problems we had, his recommendations for treatment and his treatments were all spot on. On one occasion a pulmonologist recommended a treatment when a small spot was discovered on my lung during an x-ray taken during a military reserve exam. I consulted Dr. Manalo and he explained that the recommended treatment would definitely remove any problem with my lungs but that the medications recommended would probably destroy my liver and kidneys.

I asked if Dr. Khapra was accepting new patients and the reception confirmed that she was. The receptionist then proceeded to take my personal contact and insurance info, but never asked what symptoms I was experiencing. Instead she told me the doctor's next available appointment was at the end of October, for a tele appointment. Seriously?!? Is this just about money?!? If a patient is symptomatic, why would any reasonable person think that waiting two months is a reasonable standard of care and how would she treat the issues through a telephonic appointment? This approach to practicing medicine is more akin to malpractice, not best practice. I hope others have had far better experiences with this doctor and practice. My limited interactions make me want to scream "charlatan!".
