My absolute favorite doctor Dr. Lim has left the practice so I've been hopping around whoever has been available and have found each person that I have met has been incredibly kind, smart, and sensitive to whatever issues I am facing at the time. The back and forth communication between the app is amazing and has saved me hours of my life .. and the ability to make same day appointments is life changing. They have a children's practice as well, which I am highly considering switching to as I can see it being easy to schedule sick and well visits, get doctors notes, etc. My company used to pay One Medical Group as a benefit but it is so good that I continue to pay out of pocket. I am so glad that Amazon has purchased the company to make this type of quality health care more accessible for all.

Even better, my wait time was only about 10 minutes to get that lab work. And I checked the app ahead of time to figure out lower volume times to visit--yay, technology! My lab tech kept me smiling through the short appointment and let me know when I could look for results through the app or from my primary care provider. All together, this is an excellent practice and well worth the annual fee.

One word: Superb…read more I'm not one to be easily impressed. So when I say I found Dr. Kim's approach to be thorough and impressive--that statement Carrie's tremendous weight. She's a brilliant individual and physician, and I thank the heavens for her! She's a truly exceptional physician in several ways. To begin with, her reassuring bedside manner is imbued with the kind of warmth, natural ease and calm confidence you would hope all physicians were made of, but rarely are. She makes it incredibly easy to discuss matters with her, and at no point in the appointment did I detect the doctor-patient power differential. It was a very healthy communicative dynamic where I felt completely at ease, heard, seen, understood, acknowledged and validated. She genuinely wanted to understand my experience and the struggles that ail me. She assumed nothing and listened with great care and attention, asking all the pertinent questions. She didn't miss a beat, not a single one. She's exceptionally bright, insightful and possesses a diagnostic prowess that is uncanny. She took the time to properly assess my current ongoing issues, and as equally and thoroughly went over my medical history, labs and other diagnostics, and delved into my childhood ails. Suffering from a series of complex health issues turned chronic, that none of the many top-notch doctors I had seen prior to her even came close to addressing; she, however, was able to give me the sense of clarity and empowerment I needed. She was able to inform me as to what the actual underlying issues, concerns and future implications were, how they were addressable and can be overcome, and presented me with clear options for treatment approaches for best outcomes, and explained here's why. She reintroduced peace and ease to my mind, heart and body. She even held space for me to be able to express my very real, well-founded fears and frustration, and took the time to address them with immense sensitivity and subtlety in her verbal and non-verbal language, and succeeded in putting those fears to rest, whilst rendering me with the courage to face what is to come with resilience, and an a positive attitude and outlook. She's truly inspirational. I felt an immense admiration and respect for her ability in being able to cultivate that response and courage within me. Most physicians miserably fail in this area. She excelled. The finesse in her emotional intelligence and agility makes most others physicians look like emotionally-dense amateurs. Her integrative, holistic approach came as a huge relief because it meant she was examining everything through multiple lenses to gain a well-rounded perspective for an effective, life-affirming cure. She openly discusses her thought process and the modalities she's employing in her assessment and treatment approach with you, so you're in the know. This enables you to begin developing an understanding of your bioindividual health dynamics. Her approach addressed me in my entirety as a whole person--my physical, mental, and emotional health, and psychosocial, energetics and spirit-affirming well-being, that honored me being authentic and true to who I am. By the end of the session she had throughly explained to me the likely root causes of the disease processes and manifestations, and what led to compromising my gut, digestion, metabolism, immune system etc. and where I am currently within the trajectory of my chronic disease manifestations. I felt the burden and disappointment I had been carrying around from being failed by prior medical approaches prior to meeting her almost completely lift off my shoulders by the end of the appointment with her, and left feeling I could finally take a deep breathe with ease again, as the stress and tension my body had been carrying around began to release and dissipate. I finally felt I'm in the right hands, receiving the right care and the right solutions were underway. My inner knowing was that I'm on my way to regaining my health, vitality and functionality, and with that, finally being able to reclaim my life and joy in a very real way. I left feeling empowered, grateful and hopeful. Above all, it was the most validating experience a person struggling with chronic illnesses can receive. Thank you Dr. Kim! You're a Rockstar! P.S. I've been in communication with Dr. Kim and with her front desk, Meredith, with follow up questions and received prompt responses from both. Dr. Kim offered further effective solutions to address and ease my suffering.

I have been taking my little one to her since 4 months old. We went to her because we did not feel comfortable with vaccinating our baby at such young age. She explained to us her vaccine plan and told us that she would support us no matter what we choose for our baby (vaccinate or not). In addition to prescribing medicine, she also has knowledge about alternative remedies that when used correctly have worked for us. I am also personally seeing her for my Hashimoto's. I have been able to reduce my antibodies significantly since seeing her. I also like that she offers alternative lab testing which allows you to see a more holistic view of your body's status. The lab work that she recommends (but does not force on her patients because of the cost) looks at the levels of various minerals and vitamins that most conventional doctors do not check. However, those are vital to check at least once a year to gain some assurance that your body is in balance and there won't be any issues down the road. CONS: I have noticed that she is not very clear on how some of the remedies should be used. Often times I've had to look them up myself and do some personal research. It was a bit frustrating at the beginning but I was still happy because she gave me options and through my own research, asking her questions via e-mail (she is very responsive), I am able to make my own informed decision on how to treat my baby's illness at the time.

I've been going to Dr. Ellison for over 15 years, and my wife has had him as a doctor for over 25…read moreyears. Dr. Ellison is one of the most caring, thorough and dedicated physicians that I have ever met. His father was a physician, and the story that I heard is that Dr. Ellison's mother knew that he wanted to be a healer when as a young boy he took in an injured bird, nursed it back to health and released it. Dr. Ellison went to Harvard undergrad and Georgetown for Medicine. He's a conservative doctor, following the proper procedures and careful protocol. Sometimes, that can seem a bit stifling (like when I wanted an Ambien prescription, and he felt I didn't need one... guess who won?) but other times, it can be a god send, like when I went to him about problems with acid reflux causing serious issues sometimes when I went to sleep after having a few drinks, and Dr. Ellison referred me for a sleep study. "Sleep study!! ??," I thought... but I scheduled one and went, and guess what? I have sleep apnea... and I probably had it for a few decades... Dr. Ellison was the first (and thus only) doctor to diagnose it... even though I have had multiple primary care doctors over the years, complained of extreme fatigue in the mornings and an inability to wake up, and I had been to other specialists over the years including gastroenterologists. It's because of Dr. Ellison's thorough and methodical approach that my sleep apnea was diagnosed, and can thus be managed and treated -- and that has tremendously improved my quality of life because untreated sleep apnea can cause many other health issues including heart disease... plus knowing that I have sleep apnea explains why I was often so tired in the mornings and hated to wake up early... Knowing the cause makes it easier to work on a treatment and maybe one day pursue a cure (I still don't like the surgical options available... but the field continues to progress). Another example would be some blood test results that were showing a few tests that -- while still in range -- we're becoming borderline, and were trending in the wrong direction. Dr. Ellison suggested medication before it became a problem. I protested and said I would like to try changes in diet, exercising, or other approaches. Dr. Ellison gave me recommendations on how to change my eating habits -- what is good for me, and what to avoid, and also had me take some over-the counter vitamins and minerals. It was a lifestyle change, and it wasn't easy, but the result is that my blood test numbers returned to about the middle of the normal range, and as a side effect, I lost about 35 lbs (and kept it off) and feel more energetic (I didn't know how lethargic I felt, until I made the changes, and realized how much better I felt). I still need to get better at the exercise part... but I thank Dr. Ellison for his wise counsel and compassionate care. Dr. Ellison is one of the old-school Doctors, and I mean that in a good way. He works very hard, taking his practice quite seriously. He's up early at the hospital, and late in the evenings making rounds, or checking in on patients or dealing with emergencies. He's one the doctors that views healing as his calling and his profession... and it's not just a job... caring for people is a major commitment in Dr. Ellison's life. Whether you like or hate the affordable care act, one impact it had in this area is that it had many new patients looking for primary care physicians, even though the number of physicians didn't necessarily increase. Dr. Ellison took the humanitarian approach. He hired more nurses and a Physician's assistant, and expanded his practice to accommodate more patients. This means more work and longer hours for Dr. Ellison, but, as he described it to me, there were many people who had not had routine medical care for many years due to cost and lack of insurance, and these people really needed basic (or advanced) care to deal with their health, and to help them with health issues that are preventable, treatable or easily curable. So for those who have given Dr. Ellison a mediocre or poor review, I don't doubt that they were unhappy with their experience, but I can tell you from my first hand experience, that of my wife, and even my mother-in-law, that Dr. Ellison and is absolutely 100% top shelf. He is one of the best primary care doctors. Period. I should also add that, it never occurred to me to write a yelp review of my Doctor, even though I have always been more than satisfied. It was only when I happened to stumble across a negative review, that I decided to share my experiences with and thoughts about Dr. Ellison. I suspect that people who are really upset (and I'm not trying to delegitimize their complaints) are more likely to go write a bad review, while there be thousands of patients who quietly share a view similar to mine. I believe I've read that the average doctor's practice has about 5,000 patients.

We have really only used them for yearly wellness exams which have always been fully covered until this year. I had planned on scheduling my daughter's wellness visit with Nguyen Vu for a date prior to moving her into her college apartment at VT however the schedules didn't align, and I ended up scheduling with Erika Thomas instead because Nguyen VU doesn't see patients on that day of the week and it was the only day that would work. I HIGHLY recommend AVOIDING Erika Thomas at all costs. She backdated a diagnosis for my daughter that could ONLY have been made after her wellness lab work came back the day after her appointment. Erika Thomas also ordered tests for my daughter (healthy 19 year old) that are not part of routine screening and are intended for overweight humans or humans who are 45 years with other risk factors. This is causing my insurance to charge some of the labs to my deductible because of the diagnosis. I have contacted the practice Supervisor, Assistant Manager and also spoke with the Practice Manager Alhan Ataiefar today and all she did was gaslight me to say that not all insurance covers all wellness exam items. She also gaslight me by saying that the extra tests ordered are routine, when they are not. Well, she is wrong because I have had the same insurance for the past 6+ years and everything has always been covered up to this point. Not a single person at this practice has even attempted to research this beyond talking with the practitioner to even notice the backdating. I will also add that every time I call in for help I am put on hold for 10 to 15 minutes to speak to someone who then puts me on hold for another 10-15 minutes and half the time I am either disconnected or told that the manager/supervisor is out for the rest of the day or unavailable. This place is poorly managed by Dr. Kavian S. Milani and his staff are rude and unhelpful and most practitioners appear to be consistently ordering extra tests to bring in more revenue (read more reviews for other examples.)

The other way to find a place is to park in the garage and then walk around on the outside of the garage to find the stairs that lead to the entrance of the Urgent Care center. There are signs on the walls that will indicate the Urgent Care Center. Cons: First, they give you forms that are copied from an original that was obviously highlighted so you can't see some of the words. I don't understand why they can't get a clean copy of the forms. Second, the forms are outdated and do not have a lot of room for you to write your medical history, medications, etc. Third, the medical assistant needs more tact in communication. She opened the door and pointed in my direction, but I was sitting around a group of people, so it wasn't clear who she was pointing to. She should have announced the last name of the person. It's rude to point fingers at people. I tried to clarify if she was asking for me to come up, and then, she says yes you. She has very poor communication skills. She does not greet you at all. She doesn't explain the process or what to do after the visit is over. I have managed medical clinics, so I know what I am talking about. Pros: The receptionist seemed proficient. The place is clean and seems organized. The wait is usually not that long, but you can always call ahead to see how long the wait is. The physician assistant seemed proficient and was friendly. As with any medical visit, always call ahead to confirm if they take your insurance and bring your ID and insurance card(s), a list of your current medications, medical conditions/history, and other names of your other doctors to make it easier. I would visit them again to give them another chance if I ever needed Urgent Care again. I hope they use this feedback to improve.
