Dr. Jasmine Moghissi has been my PCP for several years now. She is an in-demand physician so new or returning patients may have a surprise at the time they can see the doctor. Dr. Moghissi offers extra information that is good for healthcare. Secondly, let me turn my attention to her staff. They are friendly and well trainined. Room for improvement: her answring service person on Monday morning, 12/6, is a smart ass and she needs remedial customer service training. I did not appreciate her snarky attitude when I (feeling very very sick today) was trying to get an understanding to have a missed appointment fee waived. READ the reviews!!!! STILL HORRENDOUS BILLING! They WILL AFFECT YOUR CREDIT! They will say they have fixed the problem but wait....you get another bill in another 30 days...They fixed the problem but wait...you get another bill in another 30 days...and finally (now 90-120 days from the first billing) and the continuous fixing the problem, you get sent to collections and it is on your credit report and score!!!! You have to schedule an appointment to get your test results. Not sure why other physicians can have a NP explain the results over the phone within days of your test. Oh, BTW, you have to pay the co-pay because it's an "appointment" with whatever extra charges they've added. Hopefully nothing is serious because it will take you 3-4 weeks to get scheduled for your "test results appointment." read more

I admit that I had some trepidation about visiting Dr. Moghissi after reading some of the reviews here, but my experience was very different than some of these reviewers. I found the receptionist to be very professional, funny, and helpful to the point of letting me email her a form that I forgot to bring with me, so she could print it for me, so that I could get the doc to fill it out. The fellow who draws the blood and takes vitals is funny, friendly, and professional, as well, and very good at his job. Hit the vein on the first go when drawing blood. I wish the folks at the Red Cross could do that! As for Dr. Moghissi, I have seen her twice. Once when I first went in and became a patient, and had blood drawn. She gave me a physical, and talked with me for almost an hour about what I wanted from my relationship with her practice, what my goals were, what my history was, etc. I found her to be very professional, very friendly, and very interested in helping me be more healthy. (I am not a paragon of mid-40s health) And on my return visit to discuss my results, she again sat with me and thoroughly explained my results, what the numbers all meant, and offered suggestions and recommendations for things I could do to change things that need to be changed. 2 hours of a doctor's time in 2 visits is probably the most time I've ever spent with a doctor. And while she recommended some supplements to me to help with some deficiencies I have, she did not try to sell me anything, or recommend any specific brand's of anything to take. read more

I've been looking for a good primary care physician for years and was hoping this might be "the one." Sadly not. I found Dr. Moghissi online by doing a Google search with my zip code and "family care practitioner." From what I could tell, she got decent reviews so I figured I was in luck. The office is clean and convenient to my house, the receptionist is lovely and accommodating, and the nurse is friendly and competent (hence the 3 stars as even fulfilling those criteria is no small feat). However, I was not at all impressed by the doctor herself. I've been a few times since the summer and I have yet to get an actual appointment with her - always with her physician's assistants (one of whom is great, the other not so much) - and the one time Dr. Moghissi actually did poke her head into the room, she didn't bother to introduce herself or even smile in my direction. Definitely not someone I'd feel comfortable entrusting with my health or my family's health. I also find it slightly unsettling that the focus of her practice appears to be more on cosmetic enhancements than anything else. Each room is a billboard for Botox, Restylane, Juvederm, Latisse and a plethora of other similar products. (I know this because I've had ample time to examine all of the ads while waiting 40+ minutes for the physician's assistant at each of my visits.) I find the focus sort of odd considering Dr. Moghissi labels herself as a family care practitioner. I've never actually seen a child in that office, nor could I picture it. I have been a patient of Dr Moghissi's for about 4 years. She has been the best primary care physician I've ever had, which is a big deal as I have lived all over the world. She is very understanding and truly cares for your overall well being. She never gave up on tackling a tough issue I had. She solved it and gave me insight to much better health. I cannot thank her enough for seeing ME and not treating me as though I didn't know my own body (I was in healthcare for many years ...) She will work with you towards getting or staying healthy. I've been a patient of Dr. Moghissi for a couple of years now. I first went to her because she's one of the top rated doctors in the area who also works with patients that are Paleo,or low-carb, or gluten-free, or any combination thereof. I'm impressed with how current Dr. Moghissi is in term of the latest studies, trends, and just as importantly clinical data. She's plugged into podcasts, new books and even is a member of select Facebook groups created for doctors to share information with each other. She used the Berkley Lab tests when I first started seeing her as my primary physician and switched to the HDL tests once she saw that there were key indicators the HDL tested for that the Berkley didn't. I'll acknowledge that there has been a few bumps in the road as there has been turnover at the front desk, which haven't always been great. However, I recognize that new hires in any industry present a problem because you can only truly assess them once they are in the job. I was tempted to leave at one point, but realized that if I had a problem I needed to bring it to the attention of the doctor. Fortunately, a change was made before I had to have the conversation. The reception issue is the only thing that kept this from being a 5 star rating. I'm ok with the occasional wait, because unlike other doctors I've had, I've never felt rushed by her and she takes the time necessary to make sure I understand what we've gone over, and what I need to do. If you are looking for a doctor who will work with you to look at you overall health, whether that's through medicine or nutrition or lifestyle, then Dr. Moghissi is the one for you. If you want a doctor that works to get you in and out and prescribe you a pill based on a 30-60 second conversation after a nurse has seen you, then you will want to look elsewhere. read more

Only giving one star because I have to. The only male on staff was the nicest staff member there and he wasn't even the doctor or Nurse Practitioner. Sometimes I would see Moghissi and other times I would see a Nurse Practitioner. The NP was nicer, but still ran the same tests the doctor previously did and, surprise, they came back the same and I had to make a follow up appointment. 1. Billing is a nightmare! Multiple times I have received bills that were not put through my insurance and took a few weeks to fix. Having the same issues now except the bill wants amount A and her own billing website is claiming it's Amount B (less than A). 2. Staff seems impatient (with the rare exception). Very laid back in front of patients and will talk about their personal lives while patients are in the waiting room. 3. Moghissi pushes all natural remedies and diets, seemingly regardless of what I saw her for. She just pushes diet and stress relief as a cure, no matter what I see her for, with the exception of one time when I couldn't eat, breathe, talk, or cough without cringing and crying because of pain. Thankfully that was fixed after she looked up on her phone what dosage of medicine to give me. Save yourself a headache and actually get help to feel better when you need it, avoid her. read more

She's personable and really cares. The entire practice from secretaries to nurse practitioners are great. I have never had a problem with requesting refills or faxing medical documents or referrals. Not only will I not go back, ever, but also if I eventually get well enough to care to care about pursuing actions against her, I will. After suffering for months and months from pain that radiated from my neck down my arms, after weakness in my arm was added to the list of my symptoms, and after asking her point blank to consider looking at an XRay or MRI to see if something is wrong with me ESPECIALLY because spine problems run in my family, she mocked me and refused to do anything but refer me to a physical therapy AND try to up sell the masseuse who works out of her patient room when she's not busy! She told me to change my eating habits to some wholefood diet because that usually solves all problems? As I progressively got worse, I eventually realized I don't need referal to see a specialist and went straight to see one who listened to me, considered my symptoms, and immediately did both XRay and MRI and showed me that my spinal cord had been severely flattened from three protruding cervical discs and that I needed multi-level anterior cervical fusion and discectomy nearly immediately. Thankfully I'm finally recovering and pain free. so NO I don't recommend you put your health in her hands. read more

This time I have to correct what I wrote a few years ago. It had never happened to me I guess because I had a better insurance at the time. I called last February to make an yearly check up it had been over a year. I paid $25.00 co-pay plus $20.00 for blood test (which I knew would be out of pocket) then I received a bill of over $162.00 - I called my insurance who told me she filled it as ''a serious case of insomnia'' and that wasn't covered. My yearly check up would have been at 100% without a co-pay. So she owes me $25.00 and she put me in collections. I haven't bounced a check in my life and I am now in collection. I have been trying to resolve this issue with her with emails for weeks, I sent her also a certified letter. If she has to cheat her patients in order to stay in business I would call that very unethical, wouldn't you? read more

This review is overdue. My relationship with this doctor started off great. I didn't mind the wait, because she'd spend lots of time with me. She was so engaging and seemingly down to earth. However, after a couple of years, things started to change. Everyone has personal issues, but when a doctor takes up my visit talking about her personal issues, rushes me at the end of my appointment, and then adds, "I have other patients to see," as if I've been doing all of the talking, I have a problem with that. I sang her praises in the beginning, but the problems started with the inappropriate billing. I went to my annual visit, which is 100% covered by my insurance, but I wound up with a bill. During my visit she asked me how a medical issue I was seeing her for was coming along. I answered her questions. Next thing you know, my visit is billed as something else, rather than an annual visit. I checked with my insurance company and although rarely done by other practices, she can do this. Talk about bate and switch. My previous doctor's office never did that. Don't question the billing or you will get an earful or an invitation to go elsewhere. Then COVID happened. After businesses started seeing patients in person again, she stuck to the virtual hours. It was extremely difficult to make an in-person appointment with her. I decided to write a review today after having just had a terrific experience dealing with the problems presented by a change in insurance. The staff was pro-active, quick and followed up. They know my family by name when I call for an appointment, prescription refills or any other issue I get quick responses and the staff will patiently explain the details. I found Dr. Moghissi by perusing the low carb doctors list on Jimmy Moore's website. She is a very strong advocate of a paleo, or what she calls a "primal" diet. I'm in my mid sixties and have a long history of high cholesterol, triglycerides and chronic high blood sugar. I have never had another physician whose testing and analysis of my conditions was as comprehensive as this one's. The sugar panel alone measures 20 metrics. The reports of my bloodwork analysis are 15 pages. In addition, once a year I have carotid intima-media scan done to measure plaque and stenosis in my arteries. Do you know any other primary care physician who measures lipoprotein genetics? Neither do I. Dr. Moghissi will always prescribe a natural remedy before a prescription one. At her direction I've been taking a Vitamin B complex, 50,000 Units of Vitamin D3 every ten days, and very high quality fish oil. She sells all of these but makes no profit on them. She sells them because she's researched the industry to find the purest and highest potency products. (The B complex, called Methyl CPG, is available on Amazon but Dr. M's price is lower.) These have all made an immediate and dramatic improvement in how I feel and in overall health. She also prescribes prescription meds for me. However, she will tell you up front that her greatest success at treating all kinds of degenerative conditions is through diet. I find the negative reviews on this site impossible to believe. Perhaps the naysayers simply don't want to make the lifestyle changes necessary to get healthy. I don't know what they're expectations are, but if you want the most detailed, in depth analysis of your health condition and effective advice on how to deal with it, see Dr. Moghissi. read more

This is the absolute last time I'm giving Dr. Moghissi a chance. Not only is she rude and disrespectful to her patients, but never on time and not knowledgeable. She also pushes her profit-making products (botox, latisse, and her own brand) more than helping you with what you actually need. She has made rude comments about the ethnicity of people that live in the area (Indian students) who happen to be a large population of her paying patients. Her staff is unprofessional, talking in front of patients about private staff and patient gossip. Really makes you uncomfortable sitting in the waiting room. She looks everything up online on her laptop in front of you, showing she really has no inner knowledge about common symptoms. I could just look everything up myself, in that case. Hell, I guess I could be a doctor! Most recently, she showed up with her daughter to the office at the exact time my appointment was supposed to begin. I waited in her office for 45 minutes with no sign of her, except her chipper but ignorant "shadower" who wasted my time, had no useful information for me regarding my blood results, and still charged $35 to come there. When I asked her to speak directly to the doctor, she gave me a fake smile, and slammed the door shut behind her, leaving me in there for another 20 minutes. I ended up walking out. They are clearly all about money and not the patient. read more

1. Out of my 2 years being treated there, I have NEVER actually met/been treated by Dr. Jasmine. M. It has always been her assistance and/or nurses that are on site to treat patients. So if you go, chances are she won't be there and you won't be treated her. 2. Wait time is ridiculous. I say this because I make appointments in the morning with no patients before me and my usual wait is still 20 minutes. 3. Staff members are young and unprofessional. Talking about personal business very openly and gossiping with no regards to patients being there. I heard arguments between staff members whiling in the waiting room regarding to tensions between nurses and how they couldn't get along. Those things should be taken care after work or at least close the door when you yell!!!!. I do NOT feel comfortable hearing words such a B*****, and F*** in such an environment and have NEVER heard such a yelling in a professional setting so openly before. 4. I give 5 stars to the receptionist! She is great. My questions are: who is managing the place when the real doctor isn't there? Why don't you yell with the door closed? Do you think it is professional to use profanities at work and calling each other B****? Would I recommend to bring my friends and family to this place? No.... If I could give .5 stars I would. I read a prior review that mentioned they have been to this office, but never met the doctor, which is funny because it was similar to my experience. I also agree with some other yelpers where they mention her staff is young and unprofessional, but they have the best example of lack of professionalism with the ruddest doctor on earth. I found Dr.Moghissi while looking for a Functional Medicine Doctor. I have an "invisible illness" and have been to a ton of doctors. I have been to a few of the top teaching hospitals in the area. Most of the doctors I have come across treat me like my illness is all in my head but not Dr.Moghissi. She told me "I can't sure you today but we will get to the bottom of things" and that was exactly what I wanted to hear. Even if we don't find the cause of my symptoms I know that she is at least going to try. This is much more than I can say for every other doctor/specialist I have been to. She recommended tests I have begged other doctors to do before I even asked her to for them. She is very up to date on many of the new studies and also recommends diet changes (I was already Paleo when I started seeing her) or supplements when possible instead of pharmaceuticals. Yes the wait can be super long but I try to remember that she is spending the time necessary with every person unlike most doctors who are in and out of the room in 10 minutes. So if I have to wait an extra 30 minutes so that someone else can get the attention that they need it is no big deal b/c when I need that extra time she does the same for me. I just always make sure that I clear my schedule for a bit and bring a book in case there is a wait. On top of her being pretty fantastic the guy who draws blood is great. He is funny and helps to relieve some of the stress from getting 10 tubes of blood taken. There is also a gal who draws blood too and I found her very willing to take my advice to use a different needle for me which put me at ease. The only reason I signed up with Dr. Moghissi was because she was the closest doctor in my area that accepted Tricare. Unfortunately, I stayed around for way too long...she is the worst doctor I've had. First of all, I always felt uncomfortable going to her small clinic. It is filled to the brim with cosmetic surgery ads, weight loss drug ads and similar beauty products. This does not bode well for a comfortable and receptive office, and I always felt like I was being judged for not fitting the criteria of these ads. It is literally EVERYWHERE. I also always had to wait a super long time, even when the office wasn't full. I would rarely ever meet Dr. Moghissi, and it wasn't until I had a 'womanly' emergency in which the PA couldn't help because she didn't know what to do that I finally met her. She was cold, didn't offer any sort of comforting comments to put me more at ease, and acted like I was being a huge inconvenience to her. She gave me a horrible, life changing diagnosis that had me really freaked me out and offered absolutely no condolences or comforting words as I was crying my eyes out. As it turned out, the subsequent blood test proved that she was totally wrong and that her diagnosis was a quick judgement. I was really angry and when I went back for a checkup I told her that her diagnosis was wrong and she just shrugged her shoulders and offered no apology. That was the last time I ever saw her. On top of that, her office would take forever to call in prescriptions for me. Every time I needed something, they made it seem like it was a huge inconvenience. NP Vanne is attentive, empathetic, and, more than anything, she listens (as does the rest of the staff). And, for once in my life, I sort of enjoy going to the doc. I've been once to the office and found that there was really no physical exam, nor did I ever meet the Doctor. If you go there you won't meet Dr. Moghissi. Period. Hard to say she is my Dr. when I wouldn't know her (except for her profile pic, LOL!). They are able to get you your prescriptions, but they do not do blood work, or really anything else. They didn't examine me. Just height, weight, etc. I do not really like this kind of Dr. and probably will eventually seek another. Since I am generally healthy it works o.k. for now. read more

Dr. Moghissi is a breath of fresh air compared to all the other doctors and specialists I've seen, and there have been a lot (13, actually). She just "gets it," you know? She is a good listener, takes all the time necessary to discuss concerns and questions, efficient with testing and work-ups, understands how the whole body works together, has an up-to-date philosophy re: nutrition, exercise, lifestyle, and medicine...she fits exactly what I was looking for. If you are looking for a doc to just write you an Rx and send you on your way or a warm fuzzy doc who will sugarcoat and just tell you everything is fine even when you are having symptoms, Dr. Moghissi is not the right doctor for you. We cannot say enough good things about her care, her medical knowledge, her acute medical instincts and her delightful personality. Thanks to her professional care, I have a very healthy HDL to LDL cholesterol ratio, am a big Paleo Diet fan, and, at 56 years of age, am enjoying the best health of my life. I had by far the worst experience with Dr. Moghissi's office EVER. I will never go back. The front office staff have to be the most unfriendly staff I've ever dealt with. Not good when you consider the long wait. I agree with the other review, Dr. Moghissi is clearly more worried about selling botox than seeing patients. I was a patient for over a year and only saw Dr. Moghissi in person once. I waited once for an hour while the incompetent staff were figuring out an insurance question (over the same insurance I'd used for a year). While I waited I counted 25 people to go in and out. Showing me Dr. Moghissi is all about quantity and how many people she can burn through the office and not about giving quality care to her patients. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. This place is terrible. The receptionist is the most disrespectful person I have ever encountered. At Dr. Moghissi's the customer is always WRONG. They had a major problem last year with their billing system last year and miss billed a lot of patients. They sent the $30 fee I was accidentally billed to the credit bureau after 45 days past due. When I called to confront the office manager about it she told me people like me who don't pay their bills are the reason we have a health care crisis in America. I was appalled. Then 90 days later then sent an email apologizing to the whole practice because of a glitch in their system. If you want good patient care look elsewhere. Dr. Moghissi has been our family doctor for several years. She is the most up to date physician I have ever met. Really on top of the cutting edge in functional and integrative medicine. She offers tests it's hard to find anywhere else, like a complete metabolic panel from True Health that covers about a hundred biomarkers that assess functions that lead to disease, and carotid intima media thickness ultrasound for early detection of cardiovascular disease. She's into detecting and preventing diseases before they start, as well as treatment. She's respectful, and kind. We love her. We also love Van, Cat, and Matt. Some people complain about waiting to see her, and that can be true, but when you meet with her she gives you her full attention and answers every question, so it's well worth it. read more

I have been going to this practice since Jan of 2008. The first year I saw Dr Moghissi herself a couple of times, and since then I have been seeing her PA Hanh Tran. I really like Han. I feel like she deals with my problem and doesn't waste my time when I go in there. The only thing I would say is that the receptionist is rude. She had me on hold one day for 20 minutes, I hung up and called back and told her I thought she forgot about me. She was totally unapologetic. A good thing about this practice is that I don't have to wait too long when I want to get an appointment. Zero stars for the receptionist. 3 stars for Dr Moghissi. 5 stars for Hanh. read more

Unprofessional office staff. And a doctor who calls herself a professional... yet office visits somehow consistently turn out to be more about her than you. Please do not go here. There are so many other competent physicians in this area who are a lot less creepy and have a much smaller ego. This probably sounds really judgmental (aka brutally honest), but Dr. Moghissi is just - weird and will also send you inappropriate robotic emails or snail mail if you're really lucky ;) It really seems like if your case doesn't interest her enough, you'll never actually get direct care from her. Instead you'll likely see her PA, who seems to follow in the footsteps of her preceptor. I'm sorry but whoever I saw must have just barely made it through their masters. I was prescribed something that the new physician I went to immediately took me off of. Anyway, we had an unpleasant experience here and have an awesome primary care physician now.
