Had a El Gigante breakfast taco and yeah it was as big as 2 tacos and generous with the meat, eggs and cheese. Hot sauce was good as well. Only had 1 server this morning and she was busy 1st day of hunting season. She did awesome. This town is full of friendly locals. Definitely worth the visit. read more

Nacho's Cafe is always a hit. I've eaten here a few times and the food is always great. I got the 3 enchiladas and they were amazing. Some of the best I have had in a long time. I live over 2 hrs from this place and would consider driving down to Mason for a night or two just to eat at Nacho's. I recommend this place to everyone. read more

We eat here after church every week. It's our favorite place to gather together as a family. The menu is packed full of great recipes along with a daily special. We love the wait staff and cleaning staff. They are like family to us. The restaurant is bright, cheerful, clean and there is a large room for overflow. read more

We stayed in town and decided to stop here to eat. It was around 2:30 so not many people which is always nice. Our waitress was so sweet and helpful. We are a big family (5 kids) and she was extremely nice to our kids. The food here is really good. We will definitely go back again before we leave town. read more

We stopped here to eat breakfast on the eat home from Mason, Texas. It was one of a couple of good breakfast stops inn town. So we choose to eat Mexican this morning. They offer a really good breakfast, from regular plates with eggs your way with sides of potatoes and refried beans to big breakfast burritos!!! I had two eggs over easy with a side of fried breakfast potatoes and refried beans and fresh flour tortillas. My friend opted to get breakfast burritos with eggs and chorizo. They brought out two huge burrito's and he could only finish one!!! The other he took for the ride home! We had coffee and iced tea to go with our breakfast. They waitress was very nice, helpful, and outgoing. It is a very nice little place and very popular for breakfast as they had a pretty good little crowd in there. We practiced standard Covid guidelines of wearing mask in and to the table. I'm sure we'll be stopping here again. read more

And my husband is super funny about that and therefore couldn't eat his faijitas. This annoys me and makes no sense, but in fairness- should be disclosed. Service was poor , waitress was rude , food was burnt . After all the negative news from the staff we didn't complain just keep talking almost ourselves . We were very shocked how rude they were and had no clue why . We finished up paid the tab gave a Good tip then out of no where the owners wife followed ua out in the Parking Lot and suckered punched one of us and we were like what's going on . She called the cops then when the cops came we were like that Owner suckered punched someone and the Mason Texas Cop was like well even though there were witnesses in the state of Texas if a Cop doesn't see it all they can do is file a report and can't really do anything . The entire situation was shocking we had no idea where all this anger from the staff even came from . This place deserves all the Negative Karma it can get I would never recommend this place for anyone to go and experience this Hatred . Pretty legit spot here in Mason, TX. Stopped by on the way home from a fishing trip, and had a great brunch/lunch on Sunday. Super friendly staff, great small town feel, everyone seemed to know each other, people coming in from after church, etc. Food was great, I got the chili relleno, made there, not fried with batter, great flavor from the poblano. Definitely will stop by again if i get the chance. Glad we did this instead of our regular stop at the DQ! read more

Visited over the holiday weekend. Party of 4. Waited for initial service, received a half basket of chips. The salsa and queso were good. Our waitress was not rude, but rarely seen. We had to ask a different waitress for more chips, more salsa, sour cream, etc. I went out on a limb and ordered fajita stuffed baked potato. The beef fajita cubes were hard, dry and flavorless. Topped with cheddar and otherwise dry. Had to ask for butter and sour cream. My bad on that one. My husband ordered a tamale dinner. The two tamales were roughly the size of his pinky. The enchilada was "meh" as were the tamales. Maybe just a bad day. Not enticed to try again. read more

Where do I start, waitress was missing for 10 or so minutes, finally flagged down different waitress for refill on chips and salsa, she brought chips. Finally got fajitas minus Renee's food she forgot to order. Then tortillas, another 10 minutes, picadillo, cheese, beans, guacamole, 20 minutes into meal rice. Tea was soured. Eating out in Mason is like paying income tax: almost everyone does it but never with much gusto. Mason recently lost Zavala's, its generically bad Tex Mex restaurant. Nacho's is filling the gap with food very much like Zavala's, indeed, the owner of Nacho's is rumored to be a former Zavala's cook. If you're hungry while in Mason try the Square Plate for lunch, or Deadwood for barbecue or the Northside Cafe for burgers. You'll do better. read more
