Ended up taking Intro to Wheelthrowing twice, once with Victoria and once with Jeff. They are both amazing and I learnt a ton from both of them and their different styles. I just moved away from the bay area and honestly this studio is one of the things I miss most. Highly, HIGHLY recommend

I would love to leave a good review but unfortunately, I have nothing to review as the class I…read morebooked was cancelled 2 hours beforehand via email with no explanation of cancellation. I booked this activity for my bestfriend's 30th birthday as a surprise, but instead we were greeted with a closed door and no explanation. When calling the number provided I was told, "Sorry, I guess we should've called you. The instructor couldn't make it to the class. We sent you an email." The email was sent at 12:09PM while the class was scheduled for 2:00PM. We were already done with brunch and en route driving into the city by that time. I understand that unexpected situations happen, but giving customers only two hours' notice-especially when they are traveling to the location --is not reasonable. The communication was extremely unprofessional. I also checked the cancellation email afterward, and there was no explanation for why the class was canceled and no information about a refund. I'm now having to keep an eye on my credit card statement to make sure the charge is actually refunded. We made the drive for nothing and were left with nothing more than an apology. Overall, it was a very frustrating and disappointing experience, I would not recommend it.

I decided immediately that I was going to make a charcuterie board as the self proclaimed queen of charcuterie lol. Of note: You do have to order your board and choose the supplies you want on the website prior to your appointment. The owner was communicative during this process and very helpful. Upon arrival, the instructor was welcoming and helpful in the preparation process. They also serve wine for an additional charge (not a generous pour). The board prepping experience was nice and the instructions were clear to follow. There was a bunch of different paints. I do wish there were more board design and color options but aside from that, it was a calming experience. Just be mindful if you're traveling with the board. I did not bring check in luggage and almost had to check it in as it barely fit in the overhead bin.

For this class, there is 3-4 instructors guiding you through the entire process of sewing the apron yourself. Each step of piecing the apron together is thorough/detailed and communicated as many times as you need. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The art studio is colorful and inspiring, all the staff is very friendly. For this class we were offered drinks/refreshments during a short break. The class averaged about 4.5 hrs. We hope to return in the future for more classes!

The class was easy to follow, and the project was the perfect balance...it was simple enough for a beginner to understand while still being challenging enough to learn new skills. I also appreciated that there was plenty of time to complete the project without feeling rushed. The instructor was great. I arrived about 15 minutes late, but she kindly took the time to catch me up and patiently answered all of my questions. She made me feel welcomed, supported, and confident throughout the class. Overall, it was a fun and encouraging experience, and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning how to sew!

I can't say enough about how much I enjoyed my classes at LAC! This was such a wonderful birthday…read moregift! We did two classes over a weekend: Intro class (key chain, valet/bowl and card wallet) on Saturday - about 2-3 hours and Notebook cover (hand stitched) on Sunday about 3-4+ hours (the length of both classes really depends on skill, speed and how many mess ups you/Z have to spend time correcting, oops!, ha!) Started to get tired by the end of day two on Sunday but it was so much fun and to leave with something that I created with my own hands was the cherry on top! Z (Zinaida) was AMAZING! Patient, knowledgeable, creative, sweet, encouraging, just an overall delight and made the time fly by! Her stories of creating, taking classes, sourcing materials, anecdotes and her display items (things she's created, leather samples, etc) added so much to the process and made me excited about starting a journey in leather-making (will I do it, is another question but I was definitely inspired) and also made me excited to take another class with her. The workshop is stocked with so many wonderful tools that you never knew existed that serve functions you didn't know needed a tool and make the details big and small that you may not realize go into leather making--soo fun! Oh and I can't forget! THE VIEW!! The most soothing, gorgeous view in the workshop makes it feel like a dream! I was there on a rainy weekend, with the fog rolling through the trees, sunset peeking over the hillside, beautiful rain clouds, I couldn't have asked for a better setting to create, especially while hand stitching, it was hypnotic in all the best ways! The view is to die for! I have already recommended this class to friends, and now I highly recommend the class to you!

We loved the goods we created- the quality is truly beautiful- and also the process along the way! Would love to come back again!
