Redemption! When I…read morewas in high school, I wanted to make a rat in a suit in my art class. I remember I had made a really great rat head. And I made a really great suit. But when I went to attach the rat head to the body, both had dried out. I only had a couple of days until the project was due, so instead I made a rabbit in a dress. But I was really upset. I was 16 years old, and I was in a phase in my life when I hated convention. So, I wanted to make a rat in a suit to signify the fact that I felt like everyone around me was just a rat in a suit. Instead, I just became super depressed and thought that I sucked and everything sucks. And why me. And I hate the world. And god, I'm such a loser. And... UGH. To be a teenager. Anyhow, fast forward very very many years (I won't tell you how many :P) ...Now that I am a rat in a suit (kinda...)... I wanted redemption for my perceived failure all of those years ago. I saw the class on Groupon and just had to take it. Natasha is awesome. She's a no nonsense Russian artist with a cheeky sense of humor. Clay is her life. She bleeds clay. It comes out of her body and it's almost seemingly like she waves her hands a little and something beautiful magically comes out of her hands and into the world. She helps you take your ideas and shows you you how you can put it together and gives you ideas on how to make it better. Natasha is incredibly attentive and listens to each student to make sure your project turns out beautiful. If only my high school art teacher was just as attentive maybe my rat head and suit body wouldn't had dried out.... She gave me a B- for my rabbit in a dress because it ended up being a week late. Perhaps that's my next redemption project!

We were able to make 3 bowls each and 1 additional mug in the 2 hours. Such a fun anniversary idea and we will be back when we want to try again!! :)

Brandi was very responsive to my team when getting this organized. On the day of the event, she was prompt with set up and worked with the space and tables we had. We were also able to 3D print little tags with our company's logo, so the guests could have a nice company touch to the terrarium. Brandi was knowledgable about the succulents and care. It was so nice to have Brandi at the event organ I highly recommend Flourish Workshops if you are looking for a fun activity to incorporate in your events!

He repeatedly was rude, condescending, and belittling to me when I asked for help (umm... who's gonna tell him it's a school?!?) He also found it appropriate to make a racist joke to me (called my keffiyeh, a "terrorist rag"), and often made sexual jokes, in a room full of women. When I texted and emailed about my issues, Adam ignored me. No response (and have the receipts for it). I disputed my class charges to which he did not fight... but was majorly disappointed in my experiences overall. Would not go back nor recommend.

The process with him is engaging and fun; he is an excellent teacher with methods that are easy to follow. Adam's experience shines through guiding us beginners, helping to possibly avoid common pitfalls, and he is patient when you miss his queues. Adam approaches his work with joy and integrity, always remembering he's working with people, not simply a transaction. He is transparent about costs. And he is forthright based on his experience. Adam is more than fair and reasonable in all respects. For my wife's engagement ring, which was more complex for a beginner, Adam informed me it would take longer and require more of his hands-on assistance. The result was a stunning, unique piece that my wife and I absolutely love. I can't thank Adam enough for his support and expertise in making this happen! I wish there was a better-than 5-star option! This is a way to be a human and do business, well done Adam!

I'm devastated to hear that Succulence is closing!…read more I've always stopped by whenever I walk down Cortland to admire their beautiful plant collection. The plants are really healthy and they have a wide range of pots and moss planters for sale as well as other plant-y trinkets. The prices are a bit expensive, but for the value and care provided, I feel it's well worth it. The employees have always been really kind and helpful. I've gone just to ask for help and advice on plants I've purchased there, and plants I didn't, and I've always walked away feeling more ready to tackle my plant concerns. They're currently having a final sale event with almost everything 35% off -- so stop by to check out what they have left, say a tearful goodbye, and pick up a sticker to remember them by! Succulence offers a good variety from glass terrariums, classic ceramic pots, to vertical gardens or mossy rocks in all different sizes. Some vessels are a flat rate whereas others are build by the minute (yes, you read this right). There were also many varieties of succulents and cacti to choose from. The staff will walk you through compatibility between plants and also compatibility with your work schedule/ability to care for your new plant babies. You will pay for each plant separately as well. In the planting activity, everything is provided for you - tools, gloves, a rainbow assortment of sand and rocks, moss, driftwood...whatever you can imagine! I love my final product! I also really enjoyed the activity overall BUT I also admit that it was a little pricier than what my friends and I originally thought (because we didn't know about the time rate). It's definitely something to keep in mind if you choose to build at Succulence.

I booked this activity for my bestfriend's 30th birthday as a surprise, but instead we were greeted with a closed door and no explanation. When calling the number provided I was told, "Sorry, I guess we should've called you. The instructor couldn't make it to the class. We sent you an email." The email was sent at 12:09PM while the class was scheduled for 2:00PM. We were already done with brunch and en route driving into the city by that time. I understand that unexpected situations happen, but giving customers only two hours' notice-especially when they are traveling to the location --is not reasonable. The communication was extremely unprofessional. I also checked the cancellation email afterward, and there was no explanation for why the class was canceled and no information about a refund. I'm now having to keep an eye on my credit card statement to make sure the charge is actually refunded. We made the drive for nothing and were left with nothing more than an apology. Overall, it was a very frustrating and disappointing experience, I would not recommend it.
