If Yelp allowed negative stars, I'd definitely give them one. I was charged way more than the prices listed on their menu. When I asked the staff, they said the menu was seven years old and that prices had gone up, but they just never updated the printed menus. I told them they should have told me before I ordered, and their response was basically, "We forgot." Honestly, that's unacceptable. If I hadn't checked my bill carefully, I would've been overcharged without even realizing it. The food was just okay, but this experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. The staff are friendly and helpful. The downsides: not many tables or much space inside, so it's better for takeout/delivery than as a sit-down restaurant. Nearby construction has made the area challenging recently -- but that's absolutely not the restaurant's fault! Woah! Didn't expect this hidden gem of a restaurant in Guelph! We were in the area and came across good Yelp reviews so we just had to try it out. When I walked in a saw a certificate on the wall from the Thai government stating this place is currently approved, I was like woah this place just be super authentic, and it was! There's a lot of things on their menu and you can get practically any dish with whichever proteins you want on them, so it's pretty flexible and you can get what you like. We got the veggie and tofu pad Thai (something I like ordering) and the khao soi with chicken. The spice levels are definitely not for the faint of heart. The medium I would say is pretty powerful. They do say all their chili is freshly grounded, so you have that explosiveness from the kick. The portion sizes here are extremely generous and we had to take the khao soi home. The plate of pad Thai was massive and they give you this massive bag of peanuts. It was loaded with all kinds of veggies and tofu here. It was so hearty and the flavor was on point. The khao soi was also really good (and the portion sizes was huge, I mean look at that bowl). There was plenty of preserved mustard greens which meant it was authentic! The curry balance was great. Definitely very rich and aromatic. One observation was that it was less creamy (from the coconut milk) compared the Toronto khao soi's, and thus perhaps less viscous in comparison as well. One minor thing: we ordered the pad Thai in medium and the khao soi in mild-medium but some how we noticed the khao soi was noticably more spicy than the pad Thai. Amazing authentic thai food. This is a tiny place surrounded by houses with seating for around 10 people. We arrived just before the rush around 6pm and was able to grab a table. I think most people get take out. It's around $14 per dish and the portions are quite large for 1 person. It was my first time hear and I made the mistake of ordering one of their new dishes which is a fusion Thai-Canadian dish. It's pad thai with bacon and dried shrimp. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I ordered it but I immediately regretted it. It was overly salted pad thai basically and didn't come with lime either which was much needed. My friend, luckily is a regular and had their pad thai which was so good. Their medium spicy level was the right amount of spice for me to taste the food and also get a slight runny nose from the heat. We also ordered the panang curry to go which was perfectly sweet and savory for me. The curry was pungent and the tofu was firm. Definitely not expected going to Guelph. Best Thai in Guelph, hands down. Their noodle soups, Thai curry dishes, appetizers, everything is a must here. The beef salad - get it! Slowly working my way through their menu and never disappointed. I also enjoy their Thai milk tea - mmm! I've had really good Thai in Toronto and in Thailand. From na ha I had one of the curries, noodles and rice. All too bland for my tastes. While this restaurant is considered the best Thai in Guelph, if it was in Toronto I feel it wouldn't register. I'm open to trying it again since everyone loves it but in the meantime I'm going to try other Thai places to see if I can find a hidden gem. I parked in the back and saw only three parking spots...I'm just not used to seeing restaurants like this. I was greeted and seated as soon as I got in. I ordered a house pad Thai and it came in a reasonable timeframe. I was surprised to see the enormous portion size. It was definitely worth the price of $14. I've tried many dishes here, and NONE of them have ever disappointed. My only complaint would be that they constantly increase their prices. I decided to get my Thai fix while I was in Guelph in early February and boy was I glad that I did! The food here was superb. The menu has many options that suit vegetarian or gluten-free needs. We ordered the fresh shrimp rolls, which were quite large and pretty tasty. They come with two sauces which I completely forgot to ask about! But they were yummy. Then we ordered their garlic eggplant dish, as well chicken Penang and a Tom Kah (coconut soup). I was hesitant to get the eggplant, but I'm so glad my friend convinced me to. It was definitely heavy on the garlic, but I loved it. The chicken Penang was amazing. I finished that entire dish, which I usually have a hard time doing. The spiciness levels that the restaurant provides are extremely accurate and I would highly recommend following their scale. The portions are large and will fill you up. The only real issue that encountered with this restaurant was that it has ZERO insulation from the cold. I wore my winter jacket the entire time and was still freezing. I kind of wished that I had my gloves to be honest. The employees had heaters placed in various locations, but that still didn't help. Keep in mind that this is a very small location and quite busy. So, every single time someone opened that front door, the cold air would blast in. This location is more of a takeout place though it has a few seats to accommodate those that would like to eat in. I would definitely recommend to take out in the cold weather rather than eating inside. I can't say enough about this place. The food here is just too good. I had never expected to taste such an authentic, packed-with-flavour Asian food in Guelph until I ate here. The only downside will be the tiny dining area. There are only one table and a bar with stools. So most orders are for take-out. People call in advance to place an order, and they come to pick their order up. They have a big parking lot behind, so don't worry about parking. While I was eating at the place with my friend, they were getting non-stop phone calls for orders. Must be a good sign. I mean, it makes sense. One thing to note, their "spicy" really means spicy. Just discover this place yesterday and it's simply amazing! The place is small for dine in (3 tables) as their target customers are for take outs or catering. The portions are very reasonable for your buck and the food is beyond amazing. Had the chance to talk to the owner who is also the one of the chefs; she's from northern Thailand and opened this restaurant for about two years now. Owner was very genuine and friendly, came over by our table multiple times and asked us how things were. The food is as authentic as they come; Great use of spices! Did I mention the portion sizes?! We got the fresh shrimp rolls to start, tried the green curry prawns, beef fried rice, house low carb pad Thai, and their only Thai dessert - sticky rice with mango. I lovvvvvved the low carb pad Thai. They substitute rice noodles with shredded papaya. Delicious and guilt free! I always get the pineapple fried rice because it's simply amazing. I've been to Thailand before and I've had authentic Thai food, and this place is as close as it gets! They don't skim on portion size and it's always loaded with proteins. I took off a star as once we called around 6 and was told to come pick up around 7:30 but we arrived around 7:45 and still had to wait 20 minutes for our order. Our group of four came here on a Thursday evening for dinner around 5:50 pm. It's a pretty small restaurant and there weren't any free tables for four, so we sat on the side with a large window. We just beat the dinner rush because after that, the phone kept on ringing non-stop and people kept on coming in. Food: I got the vegetable Pad Woon Sen ($13.50) with a mild spiciness level. They really load up on the vegetables and it's a nice variety with carrots, cauliflowers, green beans, mushrooms, celery, and onions. My friends got the mild chicken pad thai ($14.25), mild drunken noodle with vegetables ($13.50), and the shrimp red curry ($17.25) with medium spiciness. The chicken pad thai also comes with crushed peanuts in a little baggie on the side so you can decide for yourself how much you want. Everything was absolutely delicious!! My go-to is always noodles, but the red curry was so flavourful and superb, I'll have to get that instead next time. If you can't take spicy foods like my friend, mild spiciness is definitely the way to go. I can take a fair bit of heat but I probably wouldn't be able to take a whole dish with medium spiciness. I'll ask for a mild medium next time, since they accommodate a range of spiciness, and not just three levels. The portion sizes are huge, and if I had brought a reusable container, I definitely would have saved half for lunch. But I didn't have one and didn't want to get a styrofoam container so I used that as an excuse to keep eating haha We also got two servings of mango sticky rice which aren't on the take-out menu for some reason, but they do serve it and I definitely recommend it. The mangoes were so fresh and sweet. Ambience: It's a cute and small restaurant with only a couple tables and then seating on the side. In the summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the nice weather too. There are washrooms, and you get to them by going past the check-out counter, and then turning left before the kitchen. Service: The waitresses are super friendly and accommodating. We got our food so quickly, within 10-15 minutes. Make sure you get there early or call ahead for take-out!! While we were there, the server had to start telling people that the wait-time was an hour, and then it got to the point that they were booked up until closing. Yes, this restaurant is THAT popular and they have a whole team of chefs in the back. She also told us that it's usually that busy for a Friday night/weekend, but it was atypical for a Thursday night. They had a couple orders for $200-300 worth of food. Also, the restaurant looks more like a house than a formal restaurant so if you're turning left onto York Road, make sure you really slow down so you don't miss it. The little alley way to the parking spots is to the left of the restaurant, and there's really only three spots in the back. Overall, super flavourful and a wonderful experience. If there was ever a time for 6 stars, this would be it. About 11-15 bucks for an authentic Thai meal. Not a sit in kind of place. The food is quite spicy :if you like a little bite, go mild-medium ; it's its own level of spicy. Medium is pretty damn hot (and I quite like spicy foods), and mild means none at all, which means you lose out on the flavour that comes with the spice. If you like garlic, a medium fresh garlic (beef) is sure to please. The fresh rolls (3 for 5.50) are a really nice accompaniment. The northern Thai dishes are nice, and new, but they would be at the bottom of the list for me. read more

This is my go-to Thai restaurant. Yea sure it's a couple of dollars more expensive than any other Thai places, but they are so worth it. First of all, this place can actually make things spicy. Now, I have a high tolerance of heat that when most of the time when I asked for spicy, a lot of place did not meet my expectations. However, this place did. So, jackpot! Second of all, the foods here were amazing! My favourite is their RadNar (even when typing this I'm craving for one - even after I had my dinner). The flavour comes together perfectly and the portion is rather huge for me (yes please for leftover lunch). Here's some tips for you. It's definitely faster to get your food when you eat in. The take out takes as long as 45 minutes if you order on Friday nights. That's how good this place is. However, there are only 3 tables here so timing is really everything. Amazing food, my sister and brother-in-law have travelled in Thailand and claim this is the most authentic tasting they have had in the world outside Thailand. I typically go for the pineapple chicken rice or the shrimp pad Thai. Always do take out as the seating area is tiny, be warned they are very popular and busy so order your food 40 minutes to an hour before you want to eat. The best!!! Total hidden gem, I am glad I discovered it. They have the best green curry!! I ordered lunch sp green curry chicken n my daughter got lunch sp basil fried chicken, both were really good. The basil chicken was a little different then what we are used to at other Thai places, but that was not a bad thing, so much flavour, not much oil at all. The food was really fresh and even the lunch sp portions were so big that we ended up bringing the left overs home. we have also had ground pork with pork belly here, it was sooo good that it became a fav at home n now I cook my own version at home :) the pad Thai is good, but not too sp, it feels like based on other food they do better on pad Thai or may be since I am not a big fan of pad Thai, I guess it's just me. Trying out a highly recommended local Thai restaurant. The food was priced moderately, and the flavor was off the chain. I started off with the "Fresh Roll", which was soft rice paper wrapped around organic mixed veggies, green mango, sweet paper, cucumber and organic carrots, served with fresh basil. Man, this was an incredible way to start. I had the Pad Tai for my entre, which was prepared perfectly. The food was wonderfully seasoned and may have been the best Pad Thai I've had. I definitely recommend this restaurant for dine in or take out. The have a very small dining area, maybe 4 tables, so we had to wait a little bit before we were seated. They had many carry out orders while we were dining. That is a popular method of experiencing NaHa Kitchen.
