However, I've noticed a consistent pattern that's made me increasingly uncomfortable. Each time we're in the store, the staff behaves as if we're being watched closely--asking if we want items held at the counter or having an employee follow us under the pretense of folding shirts while we browse. I've spent over $100 here so far and don't appreciate being treated with suspicion. Having worked in retail myself, I'm familiar with the signs of someone being monitored because they're assumed to be stealing, and that's how it feels every time I shop here. I really like the shop's selection--especially the Jellycats--but there are other local stores that carry similar products. I'm willing to give the shop one more chance, but if I experience this same treatment again, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

There are 2 different areas where the classes are taught one in the back and one in the middle section. The ability to walk out with a project that you learned how to make is priceless. I highly recommend going to a class at My New Favorite Thing or just going shopping. We were blown away by the incredibly well made jewelry items, kids products, masks, and quirky collectables. I got them a massive play kitchen last Holiday season, so this was a perfect find! The store is also inside an adorable pink house ( Great for photo ops) I LOVE all the unique gifts, especially all the made in Michigan gifts. Vendors beware. I was a vendor for over 6 months. Ended up costing me to be there. That's 1…read morething, maybe I was in the wrong demographic. But, there were so many other issues. One, you could never get a call back or a response in messenger. Very hard to work with someone when communication is one way. Checks were to be ready on the 10th of each month, with a sales report sent via email. I left self addressed stamped envelopes to have my check mailed because it was a 45 minute drive one way to get there. I don't think my check was ever mailed on time, and each month you would wait and wait for a sales report. One month she was too busy to get checks out on time. I always felt that vendors came last. I gave her my 30 day notice prior to leaving. Granted, it was in December when I was leaving. But, I left a message the night before I was picking up, on the vendor facebook page. Her response was that my inventory would be left in boxes, in the alley. So, my inventory sat in an alley all night. I had 4 boxes out there. Once I got settled and checked in what was there, and what I had sold had been also checked off my inventory list, I was missing around $1200 in product. And I had a handful of pieces that didn't belong to me. I contacted the owner and her response was that there is nothing she can do. But if she comes across any, she would let me know. As for what I received that didn't belong to me, no response. I have reached out a few times since and it's radio silence. Yes, she has a beautiful store, and with the amount of stock, it can be overwhelming for a shopper. As a vendor, I do not recommend this place. I say, stay far away.
