I like that I can find exotic fruit and vegetables that aren't in my neighborhood Kroger. The…read moreoptions change with the season. I'm also happy they carry Sukary dates. They have a better taste (to me) than Medjool dates. I can eat they plain or add them to a smoothie. They're also delicious when chopped and added to salads. The prices are fair and they have an abundance of whatever is in stock. Recently, I've noticed that they put ice on some of their produce. I suppose that helps keep it fresh longer. One improvement I'd like to see is fewer gnats and removing produce that's obviously over ripe. Checking out is relatively quick. I like going early, before the crowd.

Marginal produce at the best prices around. Great selection of general groceries too. On a recent…read morevisit much of the produce went rotten pretty fast. So sharpen your eye and pick out the good stuff (or eat it quick). PROS: The veggies are pretty good here. Love the selection of fresh lettuces, peppers, potatoes, and cukes. Lots of unique Asian and African vegetables too. Love the roasted peanuts in a paper bag. Delicious bread straight from a bakery in Windsor, Canada (check the dates! It goes stale fast). Flowers, plants and other nursery items are sold at great prices outside the front entrance. CONS: I've had terrible luck with the fruit here. Pithy nectarines, hard plums, dry oranges, and forever-green bananas. They specialize in large melons. Roll the dice and pray you get a good one. Watch out for the nasty onions, rancid radishes, and squishy eggplants. Ambience is pure East side, open stalls overflowing with product, kinda tight, ramshackle and clunky but full of character. Very diverse crowd and staff. Service has always been efficient. They give senior discounts on certain days of the week.

My aunt and uncle both wear hearing aids, and we found ourselves practically yelling across the table to have a conversation. Even without hearing aids, I couldn't hear my husband sitting right next to me! The food was a mixed bag. We started with the charcuterie board, which was just okay. For the price, I expected something a little more interesting, especially at an Italian restaurant. As you can see in the picture, it featured fairly ordinary cheeses, including American and cheddar Jack, along with basic salami. Nothing particularly gourmet or distinctly Italian. On the positive side, my husband's ravioli was delicious, and the salmon was very good! Unfortunately, my veal piccata was disappointing. The sauce was oddly thick and perhaps overly buttery, although I tend to use a lighter hand with butter when I make it myself. I only ate a few bites, took the rest home, and ultimately didn't even finish the leftovers. I'd give the food about 3.5 stars and the ambiance 3 stars. The restaurant itself is charming, and perhaps it's considerably quieter at lunch. But between the inconsistent food and the overwhelming noise, I wouldn't return for dinner.

They were already out of most of the fresh baked bread from today. They did have one bag left and I…read morehad nine pita pockets in it. The owner had to go in the back to grab them. I was hoping to get some radishes and some mint here, but I only saw some fruit and a few veggie items. They didn't look so great and it wasn't a huge selection unfortunately. The owner wasn't the friendliest or warmest, but was nice enough to tell me that there was another store just north on Ryan Road that might have more pita pockets. I need more for the party I have later today. They at least had plenty of Lebanon and a variety of different kinds too. I also grabbed a bag of regular pita as well, not the fresh kind from today though. It was $12.46 for three containers of Lebanon nine pita pockets and one bag of pita.

I drove into the parking lot, watching out for potholes and crazy drivers, parked, and walked in. The cashier was very nice! She was extremely helpful and recommended I try some things out. My goal was strictly for some cashews (which they have), but I also got a bag full of this snack mix, which is very addictive (the large bag slightly off to the right when you walk in). Got kids? Get them hooked on this stuff instead of candy. It's a bit salty, but chock full of nuts and seeds. There is quite a bit of bulk items, something I wish I could see more of in other grocery stores. There is also a selection of hookahs and shisha for those who appreciate a smooth smoke. As far as the bakery part goes, I wasn't so interested in that part, although I hear that it is in fact a functional bakery. In all, if you're looking for Middle Eastern groceries, snacks, or candy, this is the place to go. Support local grocers! I'll definitely be back.
