I stop by the Country Store whenever I'm in Romeo. It really does look and feel like an old country store from the 1800s. The store sells candy, coffee, little knick knacks, and other household items. Sometimes early on weekends, the store offers a free cup of coffee to customers. I don't have a sweet tooth, so I've never bought any candy here, but half of the entire front section of the store is just candy. It's really cheap, like 2 cents each for gummies and 25 cents for licorice. I stopped by after the holidays and bought Christmas LED canvas art for half off. There are also cute tea sets, coasters, candles, soap, and more. It's a good place to buy gifts any time of the year.

I absolutely love this cute and fun little shop. It is nostalgic with all of the candy. We were all laughing and talking about the candy we used to have as a kid. They have a lot of homemade items such as cobblers, jelly, honey, country dip mixes, soup mixes, coffee, candles, soaps, lotions, hand creams, wicker baskets, etc. There was a lot of unique things to look at. A lot of the candles smelled amazing, along with the soaps and lotions. In the back section there was a lot of those light up paintings. They look awesome. Some of them flash on and off. Beautiful paintings and decorations for gardens in the back. We bought 1/2 pound of two of the coffees. It was hard to choose between them all. Excited to try them. We also bought some of the surprise candy bags for my siblings. My boyfriend's mom got a really nice purse like book carrier. It can hold all of her books. The material is amazing. Great customer service by the way. We had a great time in here

Brought the brat here today for some candy she doesn't need or really deserve (I jest, she isn't bad she's just spoiled and selfish). Not much has changed in the last 40 years except maybe the way children behave. I was an angel, hence my dad brought me here on Sunday drives from Royal Oak back in the day before phones. We'd jam out to Janis Joplin and Willie Nelson and drive. It was nice. Still is. Now Baby sits in the passenger seat and plays Dj and sings like a canary (I do not. My dad never told me how lousy I was but I am). "Be good to your daughters they will love like you do". A bag of candy is about $5-$7.50. We like to get a pack of candy cigs (the sweet chewy kind not the smoking gum ones), raspberries, Swedish fish, and sixlets. The candy store is still a simple place. They sell coffee and candles and what-nots. The people running the place are like your favorite aunt and uncle, despite being Spartan fans I like them a lot:). In the little faux frontier town shops you will find a resale store, candle stores, an ice cream shop, a chocolate store, you get the idea. These shops have switched places and come and gone over the years but always remain kind of the same. When life allows it stop time and take a drive to the Country Store with the kids get a bag of candy and drive home. It's fun. Don't turn on a DVD for the drive make them look out the window.

I got the best present for my boyfriends mother a pumpkin cobbler cake and I got a cherry chocolate fudge cake for myself. Can't wait to bake them! I also love the packaging so cute!

Prefer to go to more local places rather than chains, so we visited Frontier Town. Lots of seating outside the ice cream shop but inside it is very small and has no seating. The decor is bright, cheery, and vintage. But again very small-small enough where a line could not even really be formed. No soft serve ice cream but they had a lot of different ice cream flavors from Hersey's. They also had smoothies. Some ice cream flavors I have not seen before either. They make their own waffle cones as well. My issue was the toppings. Toppings were .65 cents and I got a single scope in a cup. Two options of m&m's with either crushed or whole candies. Looking back on it now I should have went with the crushed because the girl struggled with putting the whole m&m's on the ice cream. She did make me aware that the whole m&m's were an assortment, meaning there might be peanut m&m's. I was disappointed that I only had a little over a dozen or so m&m's and they had to be stuck into the ice cream by the server. The ice cream tasted fine and nothing great. Some of the m&m's were mint and it was gross - I just wanted regular candies, not mint. If I wanted mint then I would have gotten mint ice cream - I sound like a major complainer! Fun little animal area in the back of the ice cream shop with goats and alpacas. However, I do not think I will be coming back here anytime soon. Seems like a better place for kids rather than those that want soft serve or blizzard type ice creams.

Took my parents here recently on a Tuesday afternoon for apply picking and we had such a a great time. You buy your tickets at the front. The staff are always friendly, they kindly explain all the prices and any other questions that we have. We were told where to wait for the ride/tractor to the apple field. Didn't take long at all! The driver that day was the sweetest lady! She was informative and told us which apple was her favorite and what to look out for. Going to any orchard can be pricey but Westview is worth it! They keep this place tidy and fun for all visitors.. already made plans with a few other friends so I'll will be back in a few days (they also have best cornmaze btw). Highly recommend Westview!

The playground was cute for them, I liked the basketball hoop and the underground tubes they could crawl through. They had a chance to feed the animals, but I did not get much time over there this time. They loved the very large slide. There is a hay bale for the kids to jump around, but the images online look like it might be several tiers, but on this day it was only two and the kids told me there were a lot of hole. The tractor ride was fun. Since it is summer, I did not see anything to pick yet, but it looked like they will have a bunch for fruits and vegetables in the fall. There is a large area for the kids to have lunch, some of it was covered. I did not have a chance to check out the store, wine section, or anything outside the kid area. I did not try any cider, but we had cinnamon sugar donuts. I only had one bite and gave the rest to my child, but it was very delicious and fairly large. It tasted nice and fresh. I wonder if the donuts are this large in the fall. There was an outdoor concession stand. They sold drinks and treats, the turnovers looked delicious. My child got a cider/ blue raspberry slush, it was a very hot day so it was good they sold them. I liked that they had real bathrooms with running water. But I wish they had a better water filling station for the kids. They were getting very hot and the only places to fill their water was the bathroom sink or next to the animals and they were not excited about either of those options. Plus, the kids were very little, so they did not have money from home to buy cold waters. The people working here seemed nice and seemed to have experience with fieldtrips with little kids. I am not sure if I will come back and bring the rest of my family, but if I do, it would be on a weekend in the Fall to check out the rest of their offerings.
