It shocked me at first to see a random ice cream store inside of an antique store but at the other day I was excited because I was a little hungry and who can argue with ice cream on a hot day. So me and my sister got ice cream from here, I went with the strawberry cheesecake, and she went with chocolate. I was shocked on how delicious this was. I was not expecting it at all, but the ice cream was phenomenal. The two old ladies who ran this place were very friendly and even offered samples if we want to try them. But I didn't get any samples just because the strawberry cheesecake sounded so delicious and I knew I wanted it. My sister did try a couple samples and at the end she picks the ones you like the most. I'm definitely going to make a trip back out here not just for the antiques anymore but for the ice cream. In honor and memory of him, the owners provided Dilly Bars to the funeral attendees. I can't say enough about the owners and the Romeo DQ as they do so much for the community. This review for Bird Dogz is a long time coming. We've been following Chef Jess for the last two summers because the food is that good. Almost everything on her decked out hot dogs and chicken sandwiches is made from scratch - from the coleslaw to the pineapple bbq sauce and dill pickle chips, hell I think the mayo is even from scratch. The fresh squeezed lemonade, which comes in several flavors, is what lemonade should taste like, not overly sweet but very refreshing and light. As we're making our way through the menu after many visits already, here are some of our highlights: "Frankie" Hot Dog - jumbo hot dog topped with brown sugar bacon, homemade coleslaw, crushed chips, scallions, and apple butter...yes apple butter and trust me it's literally a perfect compliment to the rest of the ingredients. So with that being said, my son likes his caramel on the side of the concrete mixer, not mixed in because they add too much and it's too sweet for him, so we've order it like that for as long as I can remember at all other locations for years with no problems. Here however they always insist on charging me $0.70 for the caramel at this location. EVEN THO the concrete mixer comes with 2 topping, I only get one and I'm being charged for it! And even so! After I paid a few times for it on the side they still mixed it in. Today however I tried reasoning with the lady why I'm being charged for it?!? And she said oh I understand we'll put it on the side and you won't be charged...lol I wasn't charged but it was also not on the side. What's the big deal! I don't understand why it's so hard to give the customer ONE topping not two, but on the side of the ice cream. And not only that but waiting 18 minutes for a mini concrete mixer is overkill! We'll give this place a few month to get their things in order, and we'll go back to our usual DQ. Maybe we'll come back and give it another try but seriously, just a disappointment
