The ice cream was really good and creamy and they had tons of flavors and ways to get it. Milkshakes, sundaes, cones, bowls, lots of toppings. 5/5. The shop has a old look and feel and is VERY cramped. It was very busy when we came and difficult to navigate. The entry door is smack dab in the middle of the shop, but the ice cream case is to the left. You have to go down left to view the flavors and order, and then snake back to the middle, in front of the door to pay. It's honestly a nightmare when they're busy because the space near the ice cream isn't large enough to sustain a double file line. Doesn't feel accessible to people in wheel chairs or plus sized people at all. I don't know why they'd have set up shop like that. My aunt is a regular and asked for a specific server, but I felt she was just okay. My other aunt got her hurricane and asked for more oreos and they were like "I already put some" and my aunt was like "yes, but I'd like a bit more" and they kept pushing back about it, to the point where my aunt was just like "ok, never mind ". My other aunt stepped in and the server did it, but it shouldn't have ever happened in the first place. Obviously she was asking for more because she...wanted more!?? Even if you think what you gave her is "enough", you don't get to decide how she feels. If it's an up charge, fine, she'll pay - but don't go back and forth about someone's request. Definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. Ice cream was really good but the shop experience was not. I'd go back, but only during a downtime - definitely not on a Saturday night again. read more

Hands down my favorite ice cream spot. I have lived here 20 years and am so sad that I have just now discovered this place. That being said, I have now been here numerous times and and have never been disappointed. It is to the point where I have to resist going here multiple times in a week. It's that good. Why we've driven past our local Hershey Macomb in search of ice cream elsewhere, I have no good reason. This little place is chock full of not only ice cream but so much more. The many choices of tubs of ice cream including soft serve was more than I expected. I tried the Oatmeal Cookie Craving which has the following description on the sign that describes that flavor: Silky brown sugar cinnamon ice cream, decadent sweet caramel sauce, luscious chocolate flakes and delicious oatmeal cookie crumbles. It definitely was an excellent choice. There's something about the Hershey brand of ice cream that sets it apart from other brands. I'll say with confidence that Hershey has become my new favorite line of ice cream and for me is hands down the best, most flavorful brand and I'm glad we have this location so near to us. When we were sitting inside having our ice cream, I had the chance to look around and take it all in. From self serve frozen slush drinks, to Jones soda, Towne Club pop, Coke and bottled water, there was plenty to choose from if you were thirsting for a refreshing drink. What else do they have? Well, they have cakes. You can special order a personalized cake. Do you want to try an authentic Italian Cannoli? They are made fresh. All you have to do is place your order. There's even a small section of toys for the kiddos to purchase. Whether you want your ice cream in a cone, cup, sundae, hurricane, malt, shake, and so much more, this place literally has it all and can do it all. Besides having seating inside, there's also plentiful seating outside on the park benches and tables with umbrellas to provide shade on a sunny day. It's an awesome family run business that definitely has customer service and satisfaction in mind wherever you look inside. I plan on making up for lost time and returning again and often. 2019-09-08. Hershey's Ice Cream Macomb. So my one daughter had a play date and I promised my other I'd take her to a movie. When we arrived, every ticket was sold out for the afternoon and early evening show. Disappointed, we agreed on me completing some errands and then going out for dessert afterwards, and a rain check on the movie. She decided on Orange Leaf as the after errand venue for froyo. But throughout the day, one thing led to another, and another, and another. Before we knew it, it was past 20:00, and our local Orange Leaf was closed. But a GIN keeps his word like a Lannister pays his debts! So a quick Yelp search for Ice Cream revealed that all Dairy Queens were still open. Not froyo, but it'll have to do right? Beggars can't be choosers right? Wrong! Turns out, my girl thinks she's highborn; that she is not a beggar, and soft serve just won't do (which was fine with me, I didn't really want it either). So the search continued. That's when I remembered about Hershey's. Now I never have been here before, but was well aware it existed as I've passed it by many a times. Yelp had told me they were still open, and after a little convincing, I can still say that a GIN keeps true to their word. It was dusk by the time we arrived, and it wasn't long before the sky was flooded with hues of fading blues and oranges. Hershey's is located in the north end of Country Meadows Plaza. It shares a northwest view with Allstate and New Moon Restaurant, and is visible from both 21 Mile Rd. and Garfield Rd. The plaza has more than enough parking for all it's retailers, and since most businesses were already closed for the day, we had no issues finding a VIP spot. The plaza shops are graced with portico walkways out front to shelter you from the elements should there be inclement weather, and Hershey's took full advantage of this by setting out some tables and chairs to serve as outdoor patio seating. Inside the place is tiny, with only a couple of additional tables and chairs. In addition to ice cream scoops, Hershey's sold a variety of ice cream concoctions. Shakes, Malts, Floats, Smoothies, Hurricanes, Splits, and Sundaes. Oh, and they also carried soft serve and slushies. From the freezer cooler, they stock very limited cakes, but take custom orders. Bottled drinks are also available. Just a quick note about ice cream, the USFDA (United States Food & Drug Administration) actually has standards that must be met in order for a product to be called ice cream. This is why you find many "frozen dairy products" in your grocery store. It can only be called Ice Cream, if the criteria is met. Thus why all the different names, frozen custard, frozen yogurt, gelato, soft serve, etc. After checking out all their flavors and sampling a few, we went for a scoop of Black Cherry and Pralines Pecan in a cup. Black Cherry. Bing Cherries mixed with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream wasn't the richest I've ever tasted, but definitely pretty darn good. creamy and smooth, a good blend of Butter Fats and Milk. The right amount of corn syrup was also applied here as it was not overly sweet, just as it should be. 4 stars. Pralines Pecan. Unlike the Black Cherry, I expected this one to be quite sweet, and it did not disappoint! The caramelly, buttery, salty, and sweet tastes of the pralined pecans brought back nostalgic memories, ahhh the good ole days... The ice cream was the same as the Black Cherry, and so is the rating. 4 stars. Overall, very good quality as far as Ice Cream goes. I don't think they use 18% Butter Fat, but it's definitely the minimum 10% to be considered Ice Cream. 4 stars overall. What a cute friendly place! This ice cream parlor looks small, but there are many flavors to choose from and they change them up every so often. I ordered an ice cream cake from them for a birthday party and everyone loved it. The staff is always polite and friendly. As a first time visitor, I ordered an Almond Joy Hurricane and it was very poorly made. The employee making it was obviously new and had a very hard time with the mixing machine. The Hurricane was pretty much only vanilla soft serve for the first half. It was still ice cream and pretty tasty but maybe a little better employee training? The only other complaint is that there is a little confusion when it comes to the line. Should be a bit more organized. I'd hate to go there when they're very busy. We recently found out about this place and have been coming here often as it's so close to our home. Their ice cream and sundaes are delicious, but why not 5 stars? Two reasons: first off there's no real "line". You walk in and there are people standing both to the right and left of the cash register, most of which have not yet been helped. This is confusing and also unfair to those who are helped before others who were there before them. Secondly, it appears some staff members don't know what comes on some of the specialty sundaes. I always order the caramel peanut delight (see picture) and for some reason there's always peanut butter on it and not peanuts. Not sure where the confusion is but it's pretty frustrating when I get home and notice it was made incorrectly. It's not a deal breaker for me but now it's pretty obvious I need to start checking my order before leaving. read more
