The consolation prize for me probably is the ice cream. One of the novelties has to be the liquid nitrogen frozen ice-cream. I am an arts student so if you ask me what that means, I will proudly say I HAVE NO IDEA. But it is new, it is ice cream and it is tasty. The first time I saw Lab Made was when I was at Knutsford Terrace. Over fifty people were standing outside the 'laboratory' eagerly awaiting for their end product from the 'experiement'. Therefore, I was very excited to see it now has a branch in Tuen Mun and it has much fewer people. It is said that the ice cream is frozen in less than two minutes, and the best part is you can see this happen. With the icy mist emitting from the machine, you will be just as excited without even tasting it. As for the taste, its flavor is definitely stronger and smoother as well. The price is around HKD$30 to HKD50. Science is definitely not cheap. So if you are looking forward to going into the state of the art icy cream factory, come to the one at TMTP, it literally takes less than a minute to get your order ready!

While I miss the TST location (#1), this Causeway Bay version has a bit of seating and all the Japanese-inspired vibes one can ask for. Like most HK shops, the seating is tight and limited. There are wall-facing counter spots, along with a handful of tables for small groups. The wait is likely during the hot weather days (#2), but the turnover is quick since ice cream is consumed and melts quickly. The staff is young and friendly, doing their best to keep the ice cream coming while helping folks navigate the seating. Cones and cups range for roughly $40-45. The Hokkaido milk is my absolute favorite, smooth and creamy, and reminiscent of some of the ones I've had from Japan. Houjicha and matcha are the more popular items here, which take up a majority of the orders and is especially pretty when made into a bowl with fruits and other sweets. The moment of food photography won't last long, as the ice cream will begin to melt in less than a minute. HK dessert options are always revered. Would highly recommend. Matcha roll didn't have as much flavor as ice cream but still decent. Very efficiently run and quick to receive ice cream after you order. They visited Oddies and we wanted to try egg waffles so we walked there. Getting there was admittedly a steep trek but it was completely worth the walk. It's a small shop that was easy to miss, but there was a nice spot to sit down inside. We bought the Fancy Pants parfait, which was somewhat pricey (about $10 US). We opted to eat it on the way back to our hotel. The gelato was soft and creamy, and had multiple layers of tantalizing flavors (peanut butter, cookie chunks, etc.). It was super flavorful and delicious. The egg waffles themselves were crispy on the outside and custardy and soft on the inside. They were the perfect amount of sweetness and absolutely delectable when eaten in a spoon with the ice cream. This was so, so yummy and unique- definitely somewhere to go and wish we had time for a repeat visit!
