We stopped by Memoire Cà Phê for a quick breakfast and it was a good experience! The space is quite cozy and seating can be limited, so be prepared for squeezing by folks, if it's crowded. They are relocating to a new space next week, so that is something to keep in mind. I opted to order an iced pandan latte, and it was pretty tasty, although I wish I requested less ice. I also ordered a hojicha banana bread, and this was quite yummy and not overly sweet. I got the mushroom sando, which was good & filling. I liked the milk bread and sautéed mushrooms. Their coffee was delicious The main downside was the wait time. I went on a Saturday with a group of four, and the restaurant was extremely packed. Memoire Ca Phe is a unique and modern Vietnamese cafe located on Alberta St. Street parking will be your best option and there is tons of it around the area. Inside, they have a smaller and cozy setup with a couple tables for seating. For their menu, they have a nice selection of bites and drinks to choose from. Wifey and I had brunch reservations, so we only got drinks for today. We ended up getting the Salted Pandan Matcha and the Lychee Matcha and they both had nice flavor profiles. Food: I've been here several times and I always get the Ca Phe Muoi (coffee with salt cream). The food is decent, but can be a little salty at times. I love the creativity of the dishes although I wish the portions were a bit bigger. One small pandan waffle and one chicken breast for $20 is quiet steep. Service: Cashier is always very sweet and asks if you want to alter any of your dishes. Ambiance: This place is super small, even when I dine by myself I find it to be a little uncomfortable. The only thing missing was some chili oil. The sando was good too but a little bit messy as it has a runny egg but the fish sauce bacon is like a thick cut of pork belly. I found this spot searching yelp for banh mi, which was odd since they did not have banh mi. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see a delicious sounding breakfast sandwich. I've been here multiple times and I love it. Located on a busy corner, you might have to circle around a few times to find street parking. Place has only a few tables, so I avoid trying to visit on the weekends. My favorite dish, the shrimp omelette. Savory and filling. The drinks are delicious, too. I got the sando w/ pork sausage which was honestly probly one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had. We also tried the ube waffle w/ fish sauce bacon. The bacon was quite good, nice thick cut but a tad too charred IMO and the fish sauce flavor was very tasty w/ it not too overpowering tho even tho I didn't think that sounded like a 2 things that would normally go together. What a fantastic spot for fusion breakfast food and delicious coffee! Mémoire brings together Vietnamese flavors with traditional American "diner" food, in the best way. I had the fish sauce bacon and it was phenomenal. The bacon itself was thick-cut, tender, and packed with flavor. I could have eaten three slabs alone. But the rest of the dish was equally impressive, with hash browns, an egg, and something you don't see in diners -- a bed of RICE that pulled the entire dish together. I also had a traditional Vietnamese coffee, and it was well worth the extra time it took to brew. The taste was amazing, such a rich espresso flavor balanced out by condensed milk. We had a group of 4, and were seated probably within 20 minutes. You order first, and then once you're seated, they'll start making your orders. From the time we sat down to actually eating, it was FAST. The spot only sits about 16 people so it's small and tight, but fits a group of 4 just fine. The drinks were tasty - I really enjoyed the iced peach matcha with oat milk! For food, we got two orders of the shrimp omelette and two of the breakfast sandwich. The bread for the sandwich was delicioussss, it was sweet and held up well even with a runny egg. The shrimp omelette was also yummy, especially with their homemade chili oil. The ratio of shrimp to egg was good, and had some really good flavors. Got to visit this morning for their soft opening and I'm so happy to have them join the neighborhood! Excited to become a regular. I went with Michelle V. (hiii!) after a morning workout class and we were both ready to eat! Michelle got the dac biet waffles and a ca phe trung (egg cream topping) and I got the breakfast sandwich with a pork sausage. The waffles were the show stoppers with a burst of unique flavors with the pandan chewiness and the fish sauce bacon. That first bite was a perfect combo of sweet and savory for me.
