So here's the thing about thrift stores, most of the time they are incredibly hit or miss. You can visit the same store all the time and see nothing of interest, and then one day come in and walk out with loads of items. Well, this thrift store is no different. It's a MyUnique Thrift. Being a long time shopper at their Jamaica, NY location, I knew what I was getting into when visiting a location in a different city/state. I've been here a handful of times now, and it's exactly like the one in Jamaica. There are some items that are good and priced correctly, and then there are items that make you scratch your head and wonder what the h-e-double hockey sticks they were smoking when they took this merchandise in and priced it. On my most recent visit, they had old electronics like typewriters, VCRs, etc. FYI, I love VCRs and still own a good tape collection, but they had one priced at $50 and all I could do was shake my head and be on my way. But then, as I was browsing their knickknack toy section, I came across a bag of old McDonald's toys from the movie Hercules and the Prince of Egypt. I instantly recognized them because I remember spending many hours playing with them. Some memories just stick with you and back in the 90's, McDonald's toys were of better quality. That was $2 and well worth it. I've also gotten a few quilted handbags here, and mainly I come for the kitchenware and the young children's clothing. Kids outgrow clothing so fast, and I'm a firm believer in making my dollar stretch, and the kids clothes prices are mostly reasonable. Also, they have in lots of great roasting pans and old Corningware/Pyrex bakeware that I snatch it up whenever I see it. I'm talking stuff my parents owned back when I was growing up. Buy It For Life is true! Now, when you couple this with their random discount days, you actually can be thrifty and not break the bank much in this place. The bad, fitting rooms are still not open. So I refuse to buy clothing for myself here until that's rectified, and we don't know when. COVID. Sign up for their rewards program/text messages, and they'll tell you the night before, the best day for discounts. Staff is incredibly hit-and-miss - like most locations. Also, they do have you check your bags - again, like most locations. As long as you go with knowing what to expect, you'll be fine. Try to shop here early when they first open and/or on weekdays. Lines are nonexistent. If you come on a weekend, be prepared to wait a few minutes to check out. Also, self-checkout registers - half are card and half are cash, and the attendant does ask you which half you are. Furthermore, the bags are sometimes there and also are pretty thin or the wrong size. And if something doesn't scan or have a price, be prepared to leave it, as they don't like trying to price it for you. Try to bring a reusable bag if possible.

one of my AWSOME finds its a 1970s razza signed necklace that usually retails for about $100+ I purchased for only $8

One of My favorite thrift stores ! I never ever leave empty handed. I love their jewelry selection and they always have some pretty cool finds . The only thing I don't like is the parking they do have a very small lot around the corner but that gets packed very quickly .

Example: Found a brand spanking new pair of Hunter rain boots for my daughter at 11 dollars! SCORE

Great place have nice stuff you might find downstairs but they are a little pricey with the items that are donated to them.

I came here before my vacation looking for a casual pocketbook I could take on the airplane. I thought the shop was adorable and even took some pictures for Yelp. The shop is located in an old house, which adds to the charm but limits those with mobility issues As the only way in are steep stairs. There is a nice selection of pocket books, clothing and accessories. The young lady who works there was very friendly and helpful. I purchased a pocketbook for my vacation and fell in love with another pocketbook but decided against buying it for the price. Ah, girls and their pocketbooks because I couldn't stop thinking of it! I came back the same day, before closing and ended up buying the second pocketbook for work. I put the pocketbook in my closet and left for vacation with the casual pocketbook. Well this morning before heading back to work, I decided to take it out and opened it to put my wallet in and saw it was damaged..ugh! Mind you, I should have inspected the purse further before buying it. But I was so happy with the first purchase that I didn't think to inspect the interior. Seeing the price, I am annoyed that I wasn't told about this. Look at the picture! I loved the store, but would be more cautious about purchasing a pocketbook here. Lesson learned, I will definitely inspect it carefully next time.

This was a total bummer for me. I was really looking forward to shopping at this Inspirations…read morelocation because it was so large and I've had good luck at other locations in the past. There's a large selection of clothes and a huge selection of shoes. However, everything is extremely expensive for a thrift store. Yes, everything is in good condition and some pieces are brand new. However, 80% of the tops I looked at were priced at $12 and above. I was shocked. I was so distracted by the prices, I couldn't look at the clothes. I definitely saw tons of things I liked but some sweatshirts and sweaters were $25, which is equal to what you'd pay for a brand new clothing item in TJ Maxx or Marshall's. The upside is that mostly everything is a name brands and there are a few vintage pieces hidden in the racks. But the prices are unjustifiable for a used clothing store. $25 for a used Colombia sweater? I tried on a brand new one at TJ Maxx the other day for $34. At that point, I might as well spend the extra few dollars and buy it new. I really couldn't justify buying used clothes for these prices. Another thing I noticed was that many sweaters were $22 and $24 and so were the jackets! To me, that didn't make any sense. How are the jackets the same price? I even saw a jacket on the rack marked at $99 which is something I'd expect for behind the register. Despite the prices, there was a large selection of scarves, shoes, and seasonal home goods (Christmas and Halloween). There's one aisle of books which looked to be mostly children's from my quick glance, and a wall of purses that were again over priced. I picked up a large wristlet and it was $10, which again I couldn't justify spending. The quality of the clothing is good, don't get me wrong, but the prices really turned me off. I didn't get anything and I didn't spend much time hunting in here once I saw how things were priced. The purpose of thrifting to me is getting something gently used for a great bargain. Great bargains were hard to find here for me. They do offer 50% off for certain tag colors, which was white when I went, but I didn't find one item with this tag. All of the clothing seemed to be tagged in a pink/orange color. One positive of this store is that it's separated by size and there seems to be a good amount of plus sized clothes here. If you're a traditional thriftier, I wouldn't suggest this location. If you don't mind spending $$$ for secondhand clothes, then this is the place for you.

I talked a little bit with her, and from what she said, the store is not for people who wear petite or small. It's for women who wear medium or large clothing. The fashion is for older women rather than younger women. The aesthetics of the clothing match bigger, flowery patterns like a table cloth. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are a teen or young adult, but it is for older women who wear mediums or larges. That being said, I would recommend 2nd Ave Thrift store in Union (very cheap and fashionable) or Anthem off North Union Avenue (for fashion and in-style clothing) for those younger and smaller women looking to go thrifting.

I went out of my way to Cranford to check out this store (in celebration of National Thrift Day-- today). I passsed by around 4:30-ish pm and there was a notice on the door saying the shopkeeper would be back at 5. The notice said: "Stepped out to Laundromat and Post Office. Return 5 pm." It doesn't make sense to me to go do laundry during business hours? Shouldn't errands like that be done during the lunch hour if anything? But it didn't bother me at first I just walked around and came back at 5. And waited. And waited. I waited 1 hour for the shopkeeper to come back (until 6pm) and still no sign of the person coming back. After a while it was kind of hot to wait outside and I felt really weird standing outside for so long so I stepped into a café and watched from the seat. By the time it was 6, I couldn't even check out the vintage shops in other neighboring towns I was hoping to. All in all a disappointing day. It was just kind of unprofessional and disrespectful of customers' time and energy. In total I came, spent 90 minutes, energy, gas, parking money, etc etc just to come see this one store and waited outside the store for a significant amount of time kind of looking like an idiot...not a great impression. I was really patient waiting an hour and a half and I just don't want other customers to go through that. To be clear stuff happens and so I don't take it personally but it was just unfortunate. If I'm in the area again I'd still love to still swing by and try giving it another go.
