I like to start my reviews by saying that I frequent a place before I write a review...I'm not one to have one experience (good or bad) and judge a business by it. For the Amber Feather, they do NOT accept any clothes. The owner searches for clothes herself and does not accept donations. I talked a little bit with her, and from what she said, the store is not for people who wear petite or small. It's for women who wear medium or large clothing. The fashion is for older women rather than younger women. The aesthetics of the clothing match bigger, flowery patterns like a table cloth. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are a teen or young adult, but it is for older women who wear mediums or larges. That being said, I would recommend 2nd Ave Thrift store in Union (very cheap and fashionable) or Anthem off North Union Avenue (for fashion and in-style clothing) for those younger and smaller women looking to go thrifting. read more

I would really have loved to give a great review. I'm a big vintage/consignment shopper and I was really disappointed today. I went out of my way to Cranford to check out this store (in celebration of National Thrift Day-- today). I passsed by around 4:30-ish pm and there was a notice on the door saying the shopkeeper would be back at 5. The notice said: "Stepped out to Laundromat and Post Office. Return 5 pm." It doesn't make sense to me to go do laundry during business hours? Shouldn't errands like that be done during the lunch hour if anything? But it didn't bother me at first I just walked around and came back at 5. And waited. And waited. I waited 1 hour for the shopkeeper to come back (until 6pm) and still no sign of the person coming back. After a while it was kind of hot to wait outside and I felt really weird standing outside for so long so I stepped into a café and watched from the seat. By the time it was 6, I couldn't even check out the vintage shops in other neighboring towns I was hoping to. All in all a disappointing day. It was just kind of unprofessional and disrespectful of customers' time and energy. In total I came, spent 90 minutes, energy, gas, parking money, etc etc just to come see this one store and waited outside the store for a significant amount of time kind of looking like an idiot...not a great impression. I was really patient waiting an hour and a half and I just don't want other customers to go through that. To be clear stuff happens and so I don't take it personally but it was just unfortunate. If I'm in the area again I'd still love to still swing by and try giving it another go. read more

This convenient shop has the most fabulous items for the lowest prices. It's everything a woman needs in one spot! Gorgeous clothes, accessories, bags, shoes, and more keep me going back. The shop is clean and neat--not cluttered like some other resale shops I've experienced. There are also plenty of new items in addition to used, and turnover is quick! Brands range from Forever21 to Guess to Kate Spade. The jewelry ranges from costume to nice sterling silver. I definitely recommend this fashionable shop to girls and women! Was in Cranford out to lunch with my mother when we walked past this cute little shop. She wanted to go in and check it out....was there for 40 minutes as she tried on clothes and I was talking with the friendly staff. Being a brand new business they had everything spot on from layout, design and quality of clothing and accessories (being vintage and consignment). Needless to say my mother walked out with a bag some shoes two tops and some jewelry. If she lived closer I'd be afraid the owner might run out of stock. Place was busy, word seems to be spreading around. It's nice to see people shopping and supporting small businesses! The "AF" also is an eye catcher from the street as my mother spotted it before we went to lunch and prompted us to go back. Very welcoming! For several months I passed by The Amber Feather wondering what the store was like. Well, curiosity finally got the best of me. I stopped in the other day and was delighted with what I found. It was a little gem tucked away just waiting to be discovered. I really enjoyed taking my time and looking around at all the unique and funky items, good variety, too. Unlike other resale stores, this one was clean and bright and well organized. Heather, the owner, was so sweet and helpful, and her husband actually helped me carry bags out to my car. Now that's what I call customer service! I will definitely be going back soon. The Amber Feather is great little find, in a great little town. read more

Cute new little second hand shop located downtown Cranford. Fabulous finds here! Price are great and you'll never know what you stumble upon when stopping by. Owner is very friendly and helpful when looking for something specific. The only negative is the shop is closed Mondays and Tuesdays which is when my friend comes down to hang out so she can never stop in. read more

Can I rate higher than 5 stars? If I wasn't trying to save money I could've spent all day there! Everything is so cute and cheap. I tried on a beautiful $200 BeBe dress that was being sold for less than $50!! There are clothes for all sizes and occasions (including a beautiful wedding dress), shoes, bags, jewelry, etc. Plus the woman who owns this store is so sweet and friendly!!
