In my case, one neighbor has multiple cats (I've counted up to nine), many of which roam outside. During flea season, this becomes a bigger issue, along with the smell of cat litter and feces in the corridor. You can also hear every step your upstairs neighbors take, along with pretty much any movement. I don't necessarily blame my neighbors for this; it's more of an issue with how poorly the building is constructed. However, some residents are definitely loud and inconsiderate. Since I've lived here, there have been two managers and one interim manager who, in my opinion, didn't do much, and things felt pretty chaotic during that time. The current manager seems more proactive--they send regular emails and have people cleaning the exterior and shared spaces weekly, which is an improvement. That said, some tenants are just not respectful. I've seen people not pick up after their pets, letting them urinate inside common areas, letting their dogs bark non-stop as if the whole complex would like to hear, and even leaving filled poop bags out in the open. It can be pretty unpleasant. Overall, this place is just okay. Some days I'd rate it a 1, and other times--when I see effort being made--maybe a 3.

PROS: The building is well-maintained and managed, probably the best you will find in this area. There is a lot to do within walking distance! The tenants are friendly and this is a great placed to be if you work from home. CONS: The cost of living is high, parking and other utilities are all separate and increase the rent significantly, so this is something to consider. I would like to really speak to the area, though: when you walk outside, there is the constant smell of weed, which is unpleasant (unless you're into that). There are many homeless people in the area, in my one year living here I have seen multiple people surrounded by ambulances and police after an overdose; I have never seen so many police and crime scenes in my life; literally multiple times a day I see police flying down the streets in pursuit or areas taped off after some sort of crime has occurred. Although you're located across from downtown Long Beach, the smell of pee is rampant, it's a homeless city essentially, and most of the businesses are closed down or have very limited hours. I mention all of the above because if you are considering moving here from somewhere else, I would say really take the time to think about the surrounding area. There is constructions everywhere, at all times. They may have constructed nice buildings in this area, but the cliche Long Beach crime and ghetto is alive and well.

If you want to pay over $2,500 to live in an apartment complex that smells like dog piss, this is the place. The dog piss is in the hall ways and in the stairwells. There is no escape from the scent of dog piss. Have you ever played the floor is lava? You would definitely lose here because of all the dog piss stains. The problem has been getting worse and worse. I personally get very nauseous walking through these hall ways. I can not imagine how children deal with this horrible smell. The smell of dog pisses causes headaches.

Update: after writing a review on both google and yelp, they all of a sudden were able to return my call the same day I wrote it, smh. *Could* be coincidence, but I will also add that when I applied to this place I got the same treatment for TWO weeks and, again, got a call the same day I wrote a review on Google about that, so. Be very careful with this place, keep eye on your deposits, and take a good look at the itemized list they give you because they will make "mistakes" Very shady, unpleasant and rude experience. Moved out and was told I owe $177 and was given an itemized list only to see that they only included one of two of the $600 deposits I made (a regular and pet deposit totaling to $1200). I've contacted them FIVE TIMES for a week to ask why the second deposit was left out; text, voicemail, email, and have been ignored completely. I'm almost certain it's on purpose to try and keep the other deposit AND ask for more money because... how? How have they NOT responded for a week, from all different sources of contact, even after messaging them "this is my 4th / 5th time trying to contact you with no response," but was told my payment to them is "urgent" ? They really are trying to swipe my second deposit AND ask for more money from me. What a horrible, disgusting place. But besides being potentially scammed, and possibly needing to contact a lawyer since they won't answer any form of contact, I could not stand the older lady in the office and left after a year pretty much because of her. She's VERY rude and annoying. Before switching to automated texts to let us know if we have packages, she used to manually call everyone and would nag me, because I order a "lot" of stuff, so I refused to answer any of her calls (or else I would get nasty). For the price it's a ripoff with a belligerent slow response to resident request without accountability on almost everything. Then they rob actual residents of the one shining amenity which is the rooftop by denying access to it. Shame on management and ownership for treating their residents so badly. Hopefully they will regroup and do a hard reset and reopen the roof amenities to hardworking Long Beach residents.
