I took a solo trip from California to Myrtle beach. I love animals so came here. They no longer let you hold/ feed tigers but there was a lot of hands on with other animals. They also took many great photos! Beautiful grounds and the animals seem happy and healthy.

My wife and I just spent the weekend going here. We did both the day and the night tour on Saturday and did the private painting with the chimps on Sunday. Words cannot express how much we not only enjoyed the whole experience, but the staff/family there is absolutely amazing as well. The amount of care they put into the animals is incredible. If you can; I'd recommend doing both of the day and the night tours. You get a different experience with each one on top of more time with these wonderful animals.

If I could give this review more than five stars I would. Myrtle Beach Safari was the experience of a lifetime, not to be missed. This may be one of the only places available to have an immersive experience with wildlife. Doc Antle and his entire staff were amazing. The animal trainers and caregivers have a unique bond and love with their animals, which is evident by observing their interactions together. The trainers are so knowledgeable about each animal and provided a great educational opportunity to learn about all the different wildlife you interact with on the tour. The staff was so friendly and accommodating, and the facility is immaculate. This is truly a dedicated family who devote their entire lives to the well-being of wildlife. I did both the day and night safari on my visit and both were spectacular. Please do yourself a favor and ignore the negative reviews, as I would not like you to miss an amazing opportunity to visit Myrtle Beach Safari based on the nonsense that is written. I would venture to guess, most of these people that wrote them haven't even visited the facility, because what they are saying is clearly untrue. People are writing reviews based on Netflix. Remember Netflix has to increase views and subscriptions and normal doesn't do that - it has to be jazzed up Hollywood style, that's what sells. This is not a cult or a harem with half -dressed underage girls running around. This is a family, who dedicated their life 24/7 in caring for these amazing animals. There were no underaged staff members at the facility except for Doc's grandchildren. Additionally, there is no animal abuse that you will also read about. These animals all have lush shiny coats, well-nourished with clear eyes which are all signs of a healthy animal. Additionally, if they were abused, they would not have the love or bond with their caregivers which is clearly obvious. They are also not being exploited for a photo op. Yes, you will receive photos with the animals you meet, which is a great memory of your encounter, and of course the wildlife has to be placed in cages or secure enclosures at times, you cannot have grown tigers, 300 pound orangutans, and fully grown chimpanzees roaming free unsupervised with smaller animals and humans, this would be dangerous. Visit for yourself and I am sure you will agree it is an amazing place.

Absolutely amazing time here! We did the night tour, and after a slow start getting everyone checked it, the tour was fantastic. You can tell the animals are truly loved here and you get to interact with so many. We can't wait to come back and do the day tour!

If you're considering going to Myrtle Beach Safari. Do it!!!! I highly recommend. I fulfilled one of my biggest dreams, to hold a monkey and chimpanzee. The whole experience is incredible. You learn so much. You get to touch almost everything. I loved all of the people working there. You can see how much they love the animals.. You get to take your time with the animals. Today was seriously one of the best days of my life!. Everyone needs to experience this once in their life. Everything that's included in the Safari is amazing.. they took 300 of the most beautiful pictures and that are included in the price. Well worth it.. i can not tell you enough how much I loved this!

This was our first time and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly and always gave clear instructions. They give you drinks and snacks throughout the tour, then do pizza and chips and drinks towards the end. We did the daytime safari from 9am-1:30pm. It is expensive but you get a lot of interactions with the animals and lots to see. It down poured for about 15 minutes while we were there, meeting and learning about Bubbles the elephant. They give you umbrellas if you choose to stay out from the covering, but there is a covered area if you choose not to get rained on at all. This is definitely something that needs to be added to your bucket list!

My family loved there entire day at the Safari and then the highlight was hanging with Bubbles and his beautiful family at there home and taking a dip in the intercostal's waterway, off the hook Awesome memories made that will never be forgotten

Me and my husband visited todAy and it was the highlight of our trip!! AMAZING! IGNORE ALL THE NEGATIVE NANCYS!!!! All the staff were amazing, the tour was well organized and every animal looked healthy and clean and so happy! We are big cat and chimp lovers and will def be going back for the night tour hopefully before winter! We got to meet the doc himself and he appears to truly love the animals and so does his staff! If your in myrtle go take a tour ! SOOOOO worth the money.. yes its pricy but its once in a lifetime and it cost a ton of money to care for these animals. You will always read people that nit pick and complain on yelp but... this tour is exactly what's advertised and more. Your tours purpose is to meet up close endangered animals and you cant compare to a zoo ...like others have stated. Nor can you sit and play with any one animal ... dont be selfish.. the animal doesnt know you and your not an expert on there species. Enjoy the education and the up close interaction. We loved our tour .

Bucket List Adventure! Beyond awesome and they give back to help animals! It is worth every penny, get the photo package! No cameras allowed, it is worth it! You interact with animals you would only ever see in a cage, it's priceless! We are a family of 5 and we each had an amazing experience! It's about 3 hours from start to finish. You learn a lot too! All the staff is friendly and fun! Family operated and I felt you could see the love for the animals in everyone of them!!!

This review is for the Myrtle Beach Safari Wild Encounters Tour (Daytime with digital photo package). While the price was a little high, I stick by my belief that it is well worth the money you pay. From 9 am-1 pm you are in the presence of many species of wild animals (including those that are endangered). We got to feed and hug Bubbles the elephant, play/cuddle with the baby tigers, lemurs, gibbons, and chimpanzees. Throughout the tour, they gave us healthy snacks and a delicious lunch at the end. We also got to watch the tigers run and go for a swim which was so cool. The chimpanzees finger-painted a tee shirt and we got to take one home for free as a souvenir! I would highly recommend spending the money for the tour if you are an animal lover. The photographers took excellent photos of us that will last a lifetime. I'm so happy I got to check this once in a lifetime experience off my bucket list! Thank you to Doc & Kody Antle for this wonderful experience!

It seems after much frustration, they did something different this year and had openings so I booked over thanksgiving. I planned to leave a bit earlier but we decided to leave closer to 5 and what would normally be a 30-40 min drive was about an hour and a half. The traffic was backed up, which is no surprise but there is likely improvements that can be done here-- like checking tickets at gates rather than another option. We also had a handicap decal but no one directed where it would be, I guess we had to ask or notify sooner. Once we got through the gates, we were moving. Parking was quite a bit away which was challenging for my mom who has some hip issues. We got in, no issue and I was concerned about making it all the way through but there's plenty of time to slow down and enjoy. The had hot chocolate which was the perfect touch of a freeezing night, as well as alcoholic options. The indoor train exhibition is also a must see! Overall, I would highly recommend, it was absolutely beautiful and an experience to ring in the holidays. Get there early to enjoy and make sure to check for tickets and follow for when they go on sale!

It's such a special experience and truly something people of all ages can enjoy. So grateful we got to experience it--absolutely worth it and something I'll never forget.

The two women in at the entrance/gift shop were nice and welcoming. She even told us to go to the reptile area first because it closes earlier than the rest of the park. We headed right to it. The reptile house has a very off putting smell. Every enclosure was so dark that it was hard to see any of the animals and none of them were moving much, with the exception of the armadillo and the fruit bats. The sidewalks are aged and uneven and a lot of the greenery is overgrown. There is a lot of monkies and pretty parrots. Also they have signs with which exhibits are where but no real directive on the best path to see all the exhibits. When we got to the bigger animals is where thing started to turn for me. The Lion, Tigers, Giraffe, Camel, Llama, panther - all of the cats really were all single cats. most of them seemed very lethargic. One was curled up in the very corner of the cage with a piece or rotting meat near by. The tigers appeared to be pretty agitated as well they were actively following our path along their cages almost like they were looking for something to eat. Majority of the animals just appeared very sluggish or depressed or something. there is also some peacocks that were in a cage but then some random ones that just roamed. All of the more farm type of animals were lively and active and there were larger groups of them. as we were making our way through one of the employees appeared (i noticed he was kind around but not close the whole time we were there - maybe to ensure safety ?? idk - and he let me know that the park was closing in 7 minutes. I said okay and we kept on walking the path that looped back around to the front entrance. Then my kids got excited about the tortise and went to look through the glass and he again right behind us - park is closing in minutes. I confirmed that we were headed in the right direction to the entrance and we continued to walk and he just kinda stood there. It was a rather uncomfortable interaction. The cages are not large at all and are literally a chain link cage with a small chain link fence around he whole enclosure. To be very honest when the tiger seemed agitated I wasn't completely confident that the cage was really secure so i made sure to move past that cage and to the next area. a lot of the animals just seemed a little off. maybe it was because it was the end of the day? I'm not sure but I do not plan to return there or recommend it to anyone.

John's storytelling alone was worth the trip. The sordid history of slavery was framed in a context that made it feel personal, digestible, and meaningful to the listener. At least it felt that way to me. Hearing the stories before walking through the cabins, I could just feel the moment in history... rather than reading and digesting paragraphs on paragraphs of historical accounts on the walls while inside such a historical space. The nature tram tour and the animal conservatory ended up being the icing on the cake. It was beautiful to see and be immersed in all of the nature. The only drawback is that the main house tours were booked up and we didn't learn that until we got there. It worked out for us because I would much rather have had the slavery history tour and our time was already limited. All in all, this place is a must see (especially in April, when the azaleas are in bloom)!

We had the House tour which was very well done, interesting and educational. Throughly enjoyed it. We also did the tram tour through the property which we enjoyed a lot. The path was dry so we did get a dusty ride. In hindsight if the trail could have been lightly watered down to help with the dust this ride would have been much more enjoyable. The best of the three tours was the "Slavery to Freedom" tour. John was incredible telling the story of slavery and more importantly what these people went through. It was so educational hearing the story (instead of dates,) but emotionally moving. It made me realize that the history books used when I was in school were so generic and lacking any kind of detail and real life experiences these people went through. Seeing the slave houses with our hearing John's presentation would not have anywhere near the effect of seeing them after his presentation. John brought the real life detail to us. I told John that he should record his presentation and send a copy to every history school teacher in America. If you only go to one tour at the Magnolia Plantation, definitely go to John's "Slavery to Freedom" presentation.
