While on Spring Break with the family, I took the kids to the Aquarium! Highly recommend it and truly amazing! So much to see and do! The kids enjoyed all the hands on attractions and I believe the Shark Reef tunnel was hands down everyone's favorite!! Seeing the Saw Fish was amazing and all the large sharks and stingrays. My family had a wonderful time here!!! It's jam-packed with beautiful animals and scenery! Very entertaining and educational, my son also loved the water station as it was very sensory friendly! Has a nice play area as well and clean bathrooms. Prices weren't extravagant, I feel like it's well worth it to bring your kids here if you're already in the area. They will have a great time! A great option if the weather isn't so great, or any time really. Ripley's aquariums are always bright and vivid with loads of things for kids to do. The play place in the middle of this extremely large aquarium looked inviting for sure!! Loved the shark tunnel and the robot fish, and getting to see some creatures you don't always get to see... like sooo many eels!! I always thought this place was expensive but after going in a seeing everything I'd say it's totally worth the price. We paid full price which was right around $40 each adult plus tax but there are coupons in books around town that help take bit off price. This trip they had the goldfish displays , penguin and sloths along with that insane underwater tunnel you walk thru where fish swim above your head.. and let me tell you there's huge sharks and fish and a big sea turtle to see.. really cool to walk thru. I was very happy with penguins they swam do cute and I could watch them all day! The sloths were in tree hiding sleeping but they were cool.. lots and lots of tanks of goldsfidh of all shapes and sizes! Oh and stingrays.. absolutely beautiful to watch swimming in tank.. plus there's a separate touch tank where you can bend down and touch them! I really enjoyed our trip here today. The staff was very helpful.. I needed a ramp or elevator and they were nothing but nice and showed me where to go. Also spoke to an employee about sloth because I couldn't see them. He was very informative told me best times see them and that that were sleeping which they do most of time but exactly where in tree they were. I highly recommend going! read more

I visited Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach and honestly, it felt a little overrated for the price. The fish and marine life are definitely cool to see, but it doesn't take very long to go through everything, which makes the ticket price feel a bit steep. For what you get, I think around $25 per person would be much more reasonable than $42. It's still a fun experience, especially if you enjoy aquariums, but I just expected a little more for the cost. read more

We had a great time at the aquarium. Our granddaughter loved it!! It was well kept and clean. Lots of interactive things for kids to do. Snacks and food available. A great gift shop. Well done!!! The only negative was that it was a little pricey but I get that it is also a lot of upkeep. Came here during my vacation to Myrtle beach and it was a really cool aquarium. Located at Broadway at the Beach, the aquarium is a vibrant hub of aquatic wonders that's perfect for families and marine enthusiasts alike. My son really enjoyed the stingray exhibit. The aquarium workers get in the tank and bring the rays up so all the kids can pet them. No worries, they don't actually sting. The aquarium had a large tunnel with many different species of sharks, turtles and fishes swimming around everywhere. It was a real treat. There was also a penguin playground in the middle of the aquarium so the kids can have even more play time. Fun aquarium! great experience. Would return. read more

This place is the biggest rip off I've seen so far. It is $42 for an adult to get in and there is nothing adult friendly except a couple tanks of fish. It doesn't include the photo they take at the door or anything that would justify that kind of pricing. As far as the kids go, the aquarium is relatively small. It looks huge from the outside and there are a few cool exhibits but nothing to justify the cost of this place. We were through the whole place in an hour with our 6 and 3 year old. Next, the place was packed. You couldn't even walk through the exhibits or the play places (they have 2 play structures). People were way too close to each other. For the price, admission should be timed so you have time to look and explore instead of being pushed around or run into by a bunch of people with their strollers. It's not even their fault, they just have no room to navigate. There is not enough to do to allow that many people in the building at once. It was miserable. It was super hot inside and the kids wanted to leave fairly quickly. Several of the interactive features weren't working either which is honestly unacceptable. The shark exhibit and penguins are pretty nice but again packed and not enjoyable. If there were about 1/4 less people it may have been a better time. Save your money and do something more productive. It's not worth spending hundreds of dollars on. Finally, you have to exit through a giant gift shop full of people. The items weren't marked correctly on pricing and there was one cashier with a line of 20 people. It was miserable and when we got up to pay, things rang up $2-$3 more than they were marked on the signs. Ended up out another $56 before leaving the exit. A waste overall. read more

My family and I drove up to Myrtle Beach for the day yesterday, 12-11-2023. They wanted to check out the Ripley's Aquarium while we were there. The employees that we interacted with were polite and knowledgable and it was clean. The glass on the aquarium attractions were also clean so you could see the attractions clearly. They have plenty of things for kids to do from play areas to activity tables. It was also nice because they had a tunnel so you could crawl to an area and stand to view the penguins. It was almost like you were in the enclosure with them. All but two penguins walked up to the glass as if they were studying me. There is also an area to pet stingrays. They also have a wide variety of other wild life to view. We really enjoyed it and had fun. My 18 month old daughter kept laughing and pointing at things. I think here favorite areas were the penguins and the sharks. We will definitely come back! read more

Upon arrival you have plenty of parking, tons of photo ops, and can purchase on site. It doesn't give the option online, but in person you can purchase the aquarium plus an additional Ripley attraction. A bunch to see with different areas within the aquarium venue. However, it was a little confusing. We didn't get a map, no direction in where to start first, just kinda going with the herd. So much to view and we all had a great time. Ehhh.. as far as aquariums go, this is probably one of the most expensive and most underwhelming I've been to. Close to $100 for two adult tickets. I wish I'd done my research before coming because it was very much geared toward children. That being said, this is a fantastic spot to bring kids of all ages. There are play-areas, interactive features, little games and things to engage with throughout. There's a super neat tunnel that goes through the penguin exhibit where they can literally be surrounded by penguins swimming around. As an adult, the best part was definitely the shark tunnel. The sharks were huge and standing on the conveyor belt while being surrounded by the tank was really cool. The sea turtle was my favorite part, because she was MASSIVE! I could have watched her all day. I was a bit bored for the rest of the walkthrough. Everything else was pretty average. The gift shop had some great items (if you've got any money left from buying your tickets). Would I come again? Absolutely not. Would I recommend? Only if you have kids. read more

I went to the Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg so I wanted to check out the one in Myrtle Beach as well. They were both the same price which was $88 for two people. While they are VERY similar, they are a few differences and I prefer the one in Gatlinburg over this one. That being said, they are both good aquariums and very much kid-friendly with tons of things for kids to do. They did not have the mermaid section opened as well as the moving floor they have where sharks swim around you. It is pricy but it's a good place with a big gift shop. I would recommend it, but would suggest the Gatlinburg location over this one if possible. read more
