    Robot fish!!

A great option if the weather isn't so great, or any time really. Ripley's aquariums are always bright and vivid with loads of things for kids to do. The play place in the middle of this extremely large aquarium looked inviting for sure!! Loved the shark tunnel and the robot fish, and getting to see some creatures you don't always get to see... like sooo many eels!! A lot to see and do and learn, all in a beautifully decorated environment. The marine life seemed healthy happy and well cared for, too, which is the best!

Cute little aquarium lots to see and a few touch tanks and tunnels to climb into to be closer to the animals. Defiantly worth the money

I always thought this place was expensive but after going in a seeing everything I'd say it's totally worth the price. We paid full price which was right around $40 each adult plus tax but there are coupons in books around town that help take bit off price. This trip they had the goldfish displays , penguin and sloths along with that insane underwater tunnel you walk thru where fish swim above your head.. and let me tell you there's huge sharks and fish and a big sea turtle to see.. really cool to walk thru. I was very happy with penguins they swam do cute and I could watch them all day! The sloths were in tree hiding sleeping but they were cool.. lots and lots of tanks of goldsfidh of all shapes and sizes! Oh and stingrays.. absolutely beautiful to watch swimming in tank.. plus there's a separate touch tank where you can bend down and touch them! I really enjoyed our trip here today. The staff was very helpful.. I needed a ramp or elevator and they were nothing but nice and showed me where to go. Also spoke to an employee about sloth because I couldn't see them. He was very informative told me best times see them and that that were sleeping which they do most of time but exactly where in tree they were. I highly recommend going!

I visited Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach and honestly, it felt a little overrated for the price. The fish and marine life are definitely cool to see, but it doesn't take very long to go through everything, which makes the ticket price feel a bit steep. For what you get, I think around $25 per person would be much more reasonable than $42. It's still a fun experience, especially if you enjoy aquariums, but I just expected a little more for the cost.

Fantastic aquarium. My favorite was the aquarium tunnel. This aquarium is definitely comparable to many large city aquariums we have visited. It was easy to purchase tickets and process thru the various venue options.

The fish were beautiful and tanks were kept well. Loved the moving walkway through a tunnel of fish. The goldfish room was my favorite! Nice aquarium!

It was a great several hours with the kids when the weather wasn't good enough for the beach. The displays were well-maintained and the instructional elements were interesting and informative. A large variety of fish with a vast spectrum of colors.

This was our first visit to the aquarium, and it was an amazing experience! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and there was so much to see and explore. One of the highlights was getting to feed the stingrays, which was really cool. I didn't capture photos or videos of everything, but there's definitely a lot to enjoy. Highly recommend checking it out!

We three adults went for a visit. We really wanted to see the axolotl and they didn't disappoint. Even without playing in the playground we spent 1.5 hours looking at all the exhibits. Well done, clean and interesting.

The aquarium is always a fun place to go learn about marine life and a great place for kids to have an interactive experience. You can feed the stingrays and touch some jellyfish without being stung . There's something for everyone, kids, young and old. My daughter who's a teenage was enjoying herself and using her imagination.

We went while visiting Myrtle Beach. Even with no children we had a good time. The tanks were clean and the staff nice. It was an enjoyable experience.

This place is the biggest rip off I've seen so far. It is $42 for an adult to get in and there is nothing adult friendly except a couple tanks of fish. It doesn't include the photo they take at the door or anything that would justify that kind of pricing. As far as the kids go, the aquarium is relatively small. It looks huge from the outside and there are a few cool exhibits but nothing to justify the cost of this place. We were through the whole place in an hour with our 6 and 3 year old. Next, the place was packed. You couldn't even walk through the exhibits or the play places (they have 2 play structures). People were way too close to each other. For the price, admission should be timed so you have time to look and explore instead of being pushed around or run into by a bunch of people with their strollers. It's not even their fault, they just have no room to navigate. There is not enough to do to allow that many people in the building at once. It was miserable. It was super hot inside and the kids wanted to leave fairly quickly. Several of the interactive features weren't working either which is honestly unacceptable. The shark exhibit and penguins are pretty nice but again packed and not enjoyable. If there were about 1/4 less people it may have been a better time. Save your money and do something more productive. It's not worth spending hundreds of dollars on. Finally, you have to exit through a giant gift shop full of people. The items weren't marked correctly on pricing and there was one cashier with a line of 20 people. It was miserable and when we got up to pay, things rang up $2-$3 more than they were marked on the signs. Ended up out another $56 before leaving the exit. A waste overall.

I liked this aquarium. My favorite part of the aquarium was the sloth valley. Nice and clean. Decent sized gift shop. Kids will enjoy it. Nice location.

At the time I was thinking and wanting to get a salt water tank and even a reef tank, but thought it was just going to be impossible and really hard to do on my own as I just hadn't found a store or someone to help until I met Bruce. Bruce was so nice and patiently answered all my questions even though he knew I wasn't going to buy a thing that day and I didn't. I came back for a couple more weekends answering questions and didn't buy a thing and Bruce was kind and took the time to answer any question I came up with. Another thing that impressed me about how Bruce does business is that all those really expensive salt water fish you don't want to take home and die are put through quarantine by Bruce in his store for two weeks before he will let you buy them. Bruce doesn't have to do this and so far to date after being in this hobby for over a year Bruce is the only store that I've found that does this. Bruce is even nice enough to let you write your name on the tank for the fish you want in quarantine so you can pick the fish up after the quarantine is over. That way he doesn't sell you a sick fish and you know that as long as you do the right thing your fish will live a long time after you take the fish home. And this has been my experience. Every fish I've gotten has thrived in my tank. Another thing that impressed me that no other store I've been in does is that Bruce puts cards out on the tanks that shows a picture of the fish, the name of the fish, the price, and most important of all to someone with a reef tank is he tells you if the fish is reef safe, reef safe with caution, or not reef safe. So you know up front before you get excited to get a fish that it is safe for your reef tank or not. And for those that are safe with caution Bruce will gladly explain what you have to look out for and his experience with the fish. Bruce will tell you based on his considerable experience with the fish in reef tanks exactly how he expects they will behave and it's up to you to listen to his advice as he will let you buy it if you want the animal, but he certainly warns you first about what problems you may experience. I know I've not purchased fish based on what he's told me. And I've bought fish based on what he's told me and I watched to make sure I wouldn't have a problem since I know ahead of time that the fish might not be the best fit. You really can't go wrong buying from Bruce.

The owner is so helpful. I just started my saltwater tank and he gave great advice. Without his…read moreadvice, I would have made major mistakes.

The kids were obsessed with the fact that it's the height of 15 great white sharks stacked end to end. (Shoutout to the trivia signs in the line for that little gem--both educational and slightly terrifying!) They were also thrilled we got to go around five full times, which gave them plenty of time to argue over who could see farther and point out imaginary sharks in the ocean below. Meanwhile, I got to enjoy the views--the beach, the boardwalk, and most importantly, three kids sitting still, contained, and not actively picking on each other. A miracle. I even got a good photo where everyone's smiling and no one's mid-slap or eye roll. Worth every penny for that alone. It's not the cheapest attraction in town, but between the ocean views, the smooth ride, and the rare moment of peace, I'd say it earns its price tag. TL;DR: Stunning views, smooth ride, and just enough shark trivia to keep the kids distracted from sibling rivalry. A must-do if you're okay with heights--or parenting solo while your spouse isn't.

I don't like niche museums that hit you with history overload, but Horry County Museum does their displays just right where you can walk through at your own pace, spending a little more time on those that catch your eye and interest you. The only thing which I felt was a little out of place was the aquarium type set up with fish they had by the spiral staircase leading up to the 2nd floor.
