I worked with Myron Chamberlain on my recent home purchase. I worked in the mortgage industry for 15 years, so I am very familiar with the process, that being said, I am also very picky about who I will work with. I was referred to Myron by my Realtor, Patti Maffucci with Show Appeal Realty (another great service provider, but that's another review!) I think the most important thing about the mortgage professional you choose, after picking someone who is honest, is picking someone that is knowledgeable about the process. My transaction was not an easy one; I had a property previously that I am now renting, I just moved to the valley and switched jobs a couple of times and I have student loans in a deferment status. Although I respect everyone's opinion this was NOT my experience with PrimeLending. Although I did not work with Myron directly, his team (Paul) has no idea what he is doing when it comes to understanding Corporate Tax Returns AND the fact that the so-called "underwriter" is on the East Coast does not help. I am a W-2 Employee of my own company (structured income) as well as run a multi-million dollar company. It became very apparent last week based on questions from Paul regarding the company's corporate tax returns that Myron's team has not dealt with larger, more complex companies. I have bought and mortgaged a total of 17 homes in my lifetime (many of which were purchased making much less money than I do today) and never have I had the problems experienced as I did with Myron's office. As long as you are not a company owner, I'm sure it will be fine. But if you do own a company, do yourself a favor and find another mortgage company more knowledgeable and sophisticated in dealing with large companies. Unfortunately, I found out too late. But I have since hired another mortgage company that does have the expertise. read more

Myron and I worked on our first deal around 9 years ago, when I was heavily into flipping my own homes. He was the lender representing the buyer of a home/flip I was selling. Immediately, I saw a difference in him. He gave me updates as a seller throughout the process, which is unusual in a real estate transaction. I found Myron Chamberlain through an online rating system for mortgage companies, he was the top mortgage officer. He wanted to go to someone who could close as I was doing a VA loan. Sure enough, Myron made good on his word and reputation. Looked shaky for a little bit: appraisal came in low, other issues, but Myron kicked it in high gear!
