I need to tell you how disappointed I am with my experience with you. It is quite apparent to me that A. You initially thought I would make you a lot of money and you were willing to speak to me at that point. B. As soon as my history became too much work, you stopped working for my business. You did not communicate with me unless I reached out first and you felt the appropriate way to deliver not such great news would be via text message. Lastly, you could not even call me to review my denial so I could come up with a plan. C. I want to make it clear that I am not upset at the news that was delivered, rather the lack of communication and they way in which the news was delivered. Please do research!!! Too much to get into detail but you will find out the damage they will cause if you choose them. They will string you along until the day before close and blow the whole deal. THE WORST EVER!!!, we should have run away the first time they screwed up our refi, but we didn't out stupidity!! It took them NINE MONTHS to process our refi, they had to run our credit FOUR TIMES!! (not great for our credit rating) because they kept LOSING IT! then when we only had three days left until our lock expired we found out that our finance lady was on vacation!!! She said "oh don't worry it we can extend the lock it will only be another $250" WHAT? EXTEND THE LOCK AND CHARGE US BECAUSE YOU WENT ON VACATION??? how is this my problem that you couldn't finish your job before heading out of town for three weeks???? Ok so we got through the whole refinance only to have them REFUSE to take my mortgage payment, this went on for 14 days!! Finally after getting my bank involved and the state attorney general they RELUCTANTLY took my payment RUN RUN RUN AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I knew Hory and Melissa back when they were Realtors. My husband and I actually purchased our first home on the edge of Glendale with their help. When it was time to upgrade I called Hory. Since he was no longer a realtor he recommended his brother Ozzy who was a realtor. Ozzy was amazing just like his brother and really walked us through the process of selling our house. For VA loans, Cobalt makes magic happen! My own bank turned us down for a VA loan and claimed that processing would take 90 to 120 days if it had gone through. I thought we were going to miss out on our new home because the bank already wasted about a week of our time before they notified us. I was then told to contact Matt Baker at Cobalt Mortgage. I could type forever listing the little things Matt and the Cobalt team did to make this process smooth, but I'll just sum it up; they worked some magic! We were offered the same rates as our bank was giving us, and they said the VA processing could be done in 7 days instead of 90 or 120. We had a few bumps in the road with negotiating with the seller and other random things, but each time Matt and Cobalt had a perfect answer. Once it was time to deal with the VA, Cobalt expidited our processing and it was complete within 4 business days! I have buddies who dealt with their banks and other lenders and they tell me how much of a nightmare it can be, but our experience was awesome! read more

A tremendous disappointment. Months would go by with no progress, and Todd Bookspan refusing to respond or return phone calls, emails, etc. I pulled my business from these guys after they told me "we CAN get it done .... oh no, wait, we CAN'T get it done ... oh really, we CAN get it done, we just can't seem to get all of your info together". Really, I WAS THE ONE WHO SENT YOU ALL OF MY INFO! I had no trouble accessing public records, but they "couldn't". I took my business to another mortgage company and they completed and funded my refi in less than 2 weeks. Stay away from these scam artists. I'm willing to bet a lot of the "reviews" here are phony. read more

I can't describe how incredible Cobalt Mortgage is. Matt and his team has totally blown me away with their incredible customer service and ability to deliver on such a seemingly impossible task. I had a purchase contract on a home with another lender on Jan 11, 2012. The expected closing date was Feb 13, 2012. My other lender kept dragging their feet and delaying the process until it got to the point where I was 10 days out to closing on a Friday morning and my Realtor told me she didn't think the lender was going to make the closing date. I contacted the lender and not only did underwriting tell me that they were not going to make the 13th closing date but that it would be more closer to the end of the month like the 27th or 29th. Luckily I had an awesome Realtor who suggested Cobalt. I spoke with Matt on Friday 2-3-12 and he said he could make the FHA loan close in 10 days by Monday the 13th. I signed my docs with the Title company that following Friday 2-10-12 and was given my keys on Monday 2-13-12!!! I couldn't believe how fast and on top of things Matt and his team was. They truly blew my expectations away and delivered on their promises!!! I will only use them in the future as I KNOW that they ARE the BEST in the business!!! read more
