having been a realtor in the valley for some years, I am all to familiar with the HUGE mistakes that lenders can make that ultimately break a deal. THIS IS NOT THE CASE WITH TODD BOOKSPAN! I am overwhelmed by the professionalism, efficiency, communication and generosity, that I have experienced with The Bookspan Baker Team. I have never had to ask for an LSU, we have anyways closed ON TIME or in some cases, early, and they have treated my buyers with the best in customer service. Not only is this lending team the number one on my list, they are only MY lenders on my own personal property. Truly, Kimberly Tocco Realtor www.TenaciousRealEstate.com read more

I need to tell you how disappointed I am with my experience with you. It is quite apparent to me that A. You initially thought I would make you a lot of money and you were willing to speak to me at that point. B. As soon as my history became too much work, you stopped working for my business. You did not communicate with me unless I reached out first and you felt the appropriate way to deliver not such great news would be via text message. Lastly, you could not even call me to review my denial so I could come up with a plan. C. I want to make it clear that I am not upset at the news that was delivered, rather the lack of communication and they way in which the news was delivered. Save yourself a hit on your credit report and use another company! read more

Please do research!!! Too much to get into detail but you will find out the damage they will cause if you choose them. They will string you along until the day before close and blow the whole deal. Leaving everyone the sellers, realtor, and buyers in shock and in a panic. So much so the realtor will never suggest or use them again. There are so many honest lenders out there please do your homework. read more

We just purchased our first home. We had the pleasure of working with Brenden and Rachel. Brenden made the entire process so easy and stress-free! He took the time to explain every step with us and answer our questions immediately. Due to my husbands schedule Brenden would explain things to me and again with my husband if needed (he was happy to help and never treated us as if we were a burden). We would definitely recommend Brenden to anyone needing a lender. Rachel was also very helpful, both were a true blessing! read more

This was my first home purchase so I wasn't sure which way to go. I have submitted info to about 4 different lenders and when they all came back to me, Matt sounded like he was the way to go. I put my fate in his hands and boy did he execute it beautifully. He closed in no time at all and this was a great first time experience. Trust me, I highly recommend Matt! Once again, THANK YOU MATT! -Chris read more

We may not remember next year our lender experience because it was very uneventful and that is a WONDERFUL thing that we are very grateful to say! Working in real estate I see first hand how nightmarish lending can be however this experience was no nightmare, it was a piece of cake and that has everything to do with The Bookspan Baker Team! We are more than happy with our experience, the team bent over backwards to help make our dream a reality, they were quick to respond when we needed it and answered all of our questions professionally and honestly. We are VERY happy with our uneventful, boring transaction, we wouldn't have wanted it any other way! read more

Wow...what a looong, tedious process. I recently purchased my first home. Luckily I had a fax machine and internet access at work. I can't blame the mortgage company for all of the documents and faxes I had to send, but it was still a pain! Everything seemed to move smoothly (like clock-work) and they were able to close on-time! (it took about 30 days). There weren't any hiccups along the way, so I was happy. read more

I worked with Debra Castor a few years ago when I was in the process of purchasing my home. I have recommended her to many people in the past, now she is with Cobalt Mortgage. I was extremely pleased with all the help and assistance she gave me in the process. I was a bit nervous about purchasing my first home and she made me really feel at ease. Very knowledgeable, helpful and just a cool person to work with. I highly recommend any team that Debra is connected with! read more

THE WORST EVER!!!, we should have run away the first time they screwed up our refi, but we didn't out stupidity!! It took them NINE MONTHS to process our refi, they had to run our credit FOUR TIMES!! (not great for our credit rating) because they kept LOSING IT! then when we only had three days left until our lock expired we found out that our finance lady was on vacation!!! She said "oh don't worry it we can extend the lock it will only be another $250" WHAT? EXTEND THE LOCK AND CHARGE US BECAUSE YOU WENT ON VACATION??? how is this my problem that you couldn't finish your job before heading out of town for three weeks???? Ok so we got through the whole refinance only to have them REFUSE to take my mortgage payment, this went on for 14 days!! Finally after getting my bank involved and the state attorney general they RELUCTANTLY took my payment RUN RUN RUN AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

We just closed on our home today, and had a great experience with Rachael Drummond. Prior to working with Rachael we were having a negative experience with our loan office at the time (at a different company). When I found out it was possible to switch I immediately contacted Rachael and she was on the phone with me at 10 PM that night! Rachael frequently checked in throughout the remaining process sometimes solely just to see how we were doing because we had a lot going on. She was able to lock in our interest rate within a week and the whole process was smooth and simple! read more

Well I wasn't expecting to sell my first home within 8 months of purchase, but sometimes an offer is too good to pass up. That being said, we needed to get back with a lender for our new purchase and after the experience we had the first time it was a no brainer to go back to the Matt Baker and the Bookspan Baker Team. Once again the team was quick, professional, and got me a great rate. I can confidently say that for as long as I am in the valley, this is my mortgage company. Thanks to everyone at the team. You all did a great job. read more

Todd took his time to explain all aspects of the process with us and his team was always available for any and all questions that we had. We received updates along the way that kept us informed and they were always easy to get ahold of. We were able to get the best rate through them and they made the process very easy for us. We are very satisfied with the decision to use Todd and his team. read more

I knew Hory and Melissa back when they were Realtors. My husband and I actually purchased our first home on the edge of Glendale with their help. When it was time to upgrade I called Hory. Since he was no longer a realtor he recommended his brother Ozzy who was a realtor. Ozzy was amazing just like his brother and really walked us through the process of selling our house. I knew no other loan agency would go above and beyond for us so, we went with The Bookspan Baker Team. Everyone there was extremely knowledgeable and again walked us through every step we needed to sell our house (The buyer went through them as well) and then buy a new one. We received weekly reports about our loan status, even when nothing changed. There was amazing communication when we had questions or concerns. The waiting wasn't easy since buying another home can be very exciting, but it was worth the wait. I recommend them to anyone who wants to purchase a new home or upgrade to a better home. read more

Would give them 0 stars if the system would let me. Melissa Monjaraz at this office is disrespectful and unresponsive if the client doesn't fall into a profile that would secure a loan easily and thus earn her a check quickly. At the slightest possibility an obstacle Melissa Monjaraz will simply never return emails or phone calls back. Be forewarned. read more

For VA loans, Cobalt makes magic happen! My own bank turned us down for a VA loan and claimed that processing would take 90 to 120 days if it had gone through. I thought we were going to miss out on our new home because the bank already wasted about a week of our time before they notified us. I was then told to contact Matt Baker at Cobalt Mortgage. I could type forever listing the little things Matt and the Cobalt team did to make this process smooth, but I'll just sum it up; they worked some magic! We were offered the same rates as our bank was giving us, and they said the VA processing could be done in 7 days instead of 90 or 120. We had a few bumps in the road with negotiating with the seller and other random things, but each time Matt and Cobalt had a perfect answer. Once it was time to deal with the VA, Cobalt expidited our processing and it was complete within 4 business days! I have buddies who dealt with their banks and other lenders and they tell me how much of a nightmare it can be, but our experience was awesome! read more

This is my 2nd mortgage with Homestreet and the Bookspan Baker Team once again, excelled! Levi Blank was great to work with and kept me up to date throughout the entire process. Thanks again! read more

A tremendous disappointment. Months would go by with no progress, and Todd Bookspan refusing to respond or return phone calls, emails, etc. I pulled my business from these guys after they told me "we CAN get it done .... oh no, wait, we CAN'T get it done ... oh really, we CAN get it done, we just can't seem to get all of your info together". Really, I WAS THE ONE WHO SENT YOU ALL OF MY INFO! I had no trouble accessing public records, but they "couldn't". I took my business to another mortgage company and they completed and funded my refi in less than 2 weeks. Stay away from these scam artists. I'm willing to bet a lot of the "reviews" here are phony. read more

I can't describe how incredible Cobalt Mortgage is. Matt and his team has totally blown me away with their incredible customer service and ability to deliver on such a seemingly impossible task. I had a purchase contract on a home with another lender on Jan 11, 2012. The expected closing date was Feb 13, 2012. My other lender kept dragging their feet and delaying the process until it got to the point where I was 10 days out to closing on a Friday morning and my Realtor told me she didn't think the lender was going to make the closing date. I contacted the lender and not only did underwriting tell me that they were not going to make the 13th closing date but that it would be more closer to the end of the month like the 27th or 29th. Luckily I had an awesome Realtor who suggested Cobalt. I spoke with Matt on Friday 2-3-12 and he said he could make the FHA loan close in 10 days by Monday the 13th. I signed my docs with the Title company that following Friday 2-10-12 and was given my keys on Monday 2-13-12!!! I couldn't believe how fast and on top of things Matt and his team was. They truly blew my expectations away and delivered on their promises!!! I will only use them in the future as I KNOW that they ARE the BEST in the business!!! read more
