I spoke to Michael about the treatments I'd been receiving on my shoulder, and when I mentioned Elements Massage, he asked if the therapist was Thom. Apparently he knew Thom, so Michael explained the technique that Thom used was Chinese Tui Na and used the same technique, since it was so effective for me. In the hour, Michael found at least 4 huge knots in my pectorals and shoulder area and got rid of them. He will be on my short list for future massage therapists. His rate is usually $80 per hour, but he is currently running a summer and fall special with $45 hour sessions. He typically only works 9:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, but is willing to schedule an evening appointment if needed. I definitely recommend him, especially for sports injury massage treatments.

The space is very welcoming and cozy (it was a super cold day). Paul is a great teacher and made it really accessible/approachable, which is what meditation and mindfulness should be all about! They also have a great lending library chock full of books on mindfulness, meditation, Buddhism, philosophy, etc.

I'm not new to yoga but even with the knowledge I did have, Debra expanded my practice more than most have over the past few years. Great pointers, adjustments, tips and just overall education on the movement into the pose, and not just rushing in to the pose. Yoga is called a practice for a reason. If you take the time to learn the poses correctly, your body learns where to go, like a bungee cord. It's also hard to unlearn bad habits, which I'm excited to do with Debra! So far I've taken classes with Kimberly, Ali and Tamar…read more overall experience/ambiance created by studio: 4.5 stars instructors I've taken class with: Kymberly: 4 stars Ali: 5 stars Tamar: 2 stars When I'm home, I try for a sampling of MKE's studios, and this one's usually first on the list as it's the neighborhood yoga studio, just a few blocks from our house. This review is specifically for Tamar, whose class I took today. Overall a disappointing experience. The class was advertised as "mixed level" so I brought my mom, who is a beginner. Tamar offered several one or two modifications, but aside from that the class was anything but mixed level. My mom was discouraged and pretty disoriented. The instructor's cues were confusing and she didn't articulate any anatomical alignment points. No adjustments, and a pretty listless sequence, with the instructor forgetting the entire hip sequence on the left side. I understand these things can happen to anyone, and perhaps the instructor just had a bad day. But what I found most disappointing is the apathy toward her beginner student. She didn't follow up with my mom after class, nor did she ask her a single question, although it was pretty apparent my mom had struggled the entire time and left a bit disenchanted. As a yoga instructor myself, I would never leave a student unattended in this manner. I do have to say that the other instructors at this studio presented a much higher level, however, and I will continue to explore and encourage my mom to return to see others as well.

I've also had classes w/the owner and they were quite challenging and inspiring. Space is beautiful, just not a fan of the insense... bugs my allergies. :( Was worried about finding it but isn't too far from Bayshore in a strip mall behind a residential area. Worth the ride out there!
