This is extortion forcing me to PAY for a 2nd another exam. Fraud. Calling my lawyer. Unethical. I am willing to come in for the "follow Up" visit but I refuse to be blackmailed into paying for another exam when clearly this one is good for a full year and it has only been half a year. We were referred to Dr Maria Loulourgas Optometric Physician by some friends from the West Coast of Florida who are patients there. Eye Center is a State-of-The-Art Eye Center, and they have the latest in Digital Medical Equipment. The Eye Center presents itself as very neat and extremely clean. When I arrived my medical insurance was looked up by Phil, who is Dr Loulourgas husband. I did not know what my insurance was, but he was able to quickly find it went over all my benefits. I waited less than 10 minutes to see Dr Loulourgas. She was extremely through. She carefully explained to me my vision needs, and highlighted some issues I was having. During the optical process, Phil discussed the benefits of many lenses and lens options. At Eye See Clear Vision, I found the latest in Fashion Frames, I carefully explained the pros and cons of each frame I selected as it pertained to my vision needs and the fact that size matters with my Rx. They were able to cut my lenses while I waited! Never in the 20 years that I have been seeing eye doctors has anyone gone to this length or has any Eye Doctor been so through with my vision needs. Both Dr Loulourgas and Phil spent a lot of time with me at Eye See Clear Vision and, in the end, I did spend a lot of money, I want the best for my eyes. My eyes are very important to me and my career. I protect Celebrities who put their lives in my hands, and having the correct Rx can be LIFE SAVING! I stopped in after getting sushi next door and was impressed with the variety of women's frames. I made an appointment to see Dr. Maria Loulourgas. When I asked for an itemized list of things that would be included in my new glasses, Clay told me that man at the front desk (the Dr.'s husband and business manager) would give it to me. When I asked "that man" for it, (no one ever told me his name) he said our system doesn't do that." I said, "Clay told me you would give it to me." The man stood up from behind the counter and said angrily, "You're NOT listening to me!" I was shocked! um, no dude, YOU'RE NOT LISTENING TO ME! I didn't want just the receipt with lots of codes he threw at me. I wanted a receipt that shows if I have polycarb, blue light filter, anti- reflection, transitions, etc. I have always been given this at many other places in the past. Ten days later, when I went to pick up my new glasses, "that man" yelled at me again. This time he stood right next to me while I was sitting down talking with Clay, pointed his hand toward the door and yelled for me to leave. "YOU CAN LEAVE. Goodbye!!" I told him he can give me my money back and he shouted that the glasses are nonreturnable. Apparently this is the norm for him. That's just what he does. I have ready MANY past negative reviews (not here on Yelp) from customers stating he yelled at them or spoke rudely to them and that they will not return. Most of the replies to those reviews state that the yelling was the result of something the customer did. That is ridiculous. No one should be treated like that when visiting a professional office. Today, a wonderful rep. from vsp.com, my vision insurance, listened to my horrible experience and has filed a grievance against this office. Now I can be the one to say, "Goodbye!" I am so relieved I never have to go back there. Would you?! UPDATE May 29: I had to go back :-( Apparently, according to a rep from VSP, there was an over charge of $160. That was discussed over the phone with "that man" a month ago and he told the rep from VSP that he would put the "check in the mail". I never got it so I called VSP again. The VSP rep itemized everything I should have been billed and emailed me a copy to bring to "that man" for reimbursment. I bought it to him and he refused it with a wave of hand and told me to leave. (AGAIN!) He said he didn't send the check for the money owed because he told VSP to tell me to come in and he would give me a full refund. WHAT?! This is a LIE!! A rep from VSP suggested I never go back to this office. He also lied several times during our conversation. At one point he lied and said he has me on video with three witnesses that heard me say something I absolutely NEVER said. I told him to show me the video and he refused. I left after he stood up and walked away from me. PLEASE GOD don't ever make me see that man again. What an absolutley horrible nightmare of an experience getting new glasses.

I called to follow up and they never called me back. I figured they would call me when the contacts came in. Another month later I called and they would not call me back. I called my insurance company and they said a file was never claimed and there had been no pre-authorization. I finally had to go to the office because no one would return my phone call. They were apologetic and said they would get right on it and gave a few sample contacts to try until my scleral's came in. I tried the samples and called and told them which one it was and she said they would give me a few pairs for the holidays. I told her and sent a picture of which contact it was. When I went to pick them up she gave me the wrong contacts! They STILL have not returned my call, I have no contacts, I'm in glasses and have to start this process all over somewhere else. Dr. Gindi is a good OD (although I've left several messages for her and she still hasn't returned my phone call) but the place is absolutely TERRIBLE. I would definitely recommend finding another place to go to to avoid the headache.

The doors were locked, the interior was dark, and there were no cars parked out front. There was no sign posted in the door that they were temporarily out. All these clues told me they were closed! The business owner needs to take responsibility for their actions. They didn't just step out for a minute. I didn't make a mistake by going to the wrong building. They were NOT open.
