So the following year when I went in for my contacts exam, I was surprised that he didn't even mention the eye map test or macular degeneration at all. I asked the woman at the desk for a copy of my exam records and she told me no. She flat out refused to let me see any of my own exam records! Pearle Vision is a sham! They also were high pressure about selling glasses when I was only there for contacts. I will no longer be going there. Also after that, I went to a different eye specialist for a second opinion, and was told I didn't have any macular degeneration at all, which was such a relief! I really don't recommend Dr. Amundson at all.

We were able to get our exams, meet with the doctor, and pick out our frames in a matter of an hour. The girl that helped us with picking our frames was so nice. We were told it'd be about 10 business days before our glasses would be in, and it was exactly a week when they called to say they were in. Picking up our glasses was such a quick and easy process. I have zero complaints about the whole process from setting up the appointments to getting our glasses.

I did NOT have that experience . Everyone was very nice. The Dr. was kind, very thorough . He spent a lot of time making sure I was going to get the correct lenses. I read they didn't run your insurance, not true again. Virginia ran my insurance several different ways to see best price for certain add ons. She had a good sense of humor, was knowledgeable, and kind. I was given clear, written instructions on when my glasses would be in. I will definitely recommend them, and be back! Only 1 thing they could improve, they tell you to look at frames while waiting on appointment, but, don't tell you , without asking, which frames are for the $89 deal.

They put drops in my eyes and I had no clue what they put in my eyes because they didn't tell me. Then I was told to go wait in the lobby, my vision all of a sudden got blurry as I was looking at my phone so I had to frantically call my mom to try to figure out what was going on. eventually they came out to get me and observe my eyes. They failed to ask if I was driving or anything like that. So, I had to drive home with a very blurry vision, which is very dangerous from the doctors failure to inform me what was going on. I have never had a problem with their staff, they are always friendly, quick to serve and they do not pressure sell. They offer you options and if you say no that's fine. Last week their sales man Charlie assisted me, not only was he extremely polite and made me feel like his priority. He was also practically running the whole room, assisting others with joy and care, cleaning up as he went, never rushing his customers though it was the peek bust lunch hour, I got in and out within great timing. Their glasses options are good, there's one brand I'm hooked on, Longchamp, which is part of the reason I keep coming back. When I went to pick them up the man handed them to me and said " The doctor wants you to try them out before he orders them "! He didn't tell me anything about them! Then I called to let them know that I needed to have my prescription in my reading lens because it's blurry. And then I said that my distance eye needed to be stronger too. She told me that my contacts were for distance and my glasses were for reading. I said I didn't get any glasses. She said but you have an order for glasses and they are for reading! If you go here for an exam you HAVE to request for Dr. Mike or by default you will be seen by the older one - Dr. K.J. Shaheen. Dr. Mike made my family and I feel like we were family and we had the best experiece ever at an optometrist - it was my daughters first examination and our first at the office (although my husband has been going to Dr. K.J. for years - who is good but the only complaint is that his breath stinks! and he gives exams way to quick and is always busy --- Dr. Mike's does not!) I have never had a more thourough examination done for me or my 3 daughters, and his bedside manner is perfect for either adults or children! Your kids will talk about him long after their exam! It is nice to see that someone local (he grew up in canton and went to GlenOak) decided to come back to town rather than move away after becomming a doctor and provide such service to the community. He was professional but not stuffy, efficient and thorough, and his concern and caring for me as a patient was extraordinary! He answered my many questions and went above and beyond to explain my condition and the options available. If there was any downside, it was that I had to wait over two months to get an appointment with him...but that just shows how great he is!
