My insurance hates that I need glasses so it pretty much limits me to Walmart. I stopped by on a…read morewhim. I didn't have my script on me but figured, technology, that could be faxed or emailed over or something. I asked the older man working the floor about it. He said yes but was, without a doubt, super irritated with me already. I understand. Probably more work for them. So I buzzed around, trying to find something super fast. Making rounds. Sending pictures to my boyfriend of good and terrible glasses. Finally, I landed on a pair and decided to settle up. I approached the floor man who seemed angry I existed. He insisted they did not take my insurance, which I knew quite well they do. They're on a limited list which I had checked repeatedly. After my insistence, he walked away quickly, grabbed a form and started writing as he sat back down. I've been duped into paying for medical stuff before because no one told me my insurance wasn't accepted so I asked if my insurance was accepted. He said yes but not for as much as I wanted. I said I knew there was a cap. There always is. He called my insurance, I guess, and grunted a lot. I just sat with my wallet out and the glasses in front of me, wondering if I could pick them up at another location. That's the thing about Walmart. There are a million of them. Finally he spoke to me in a gruff voice and said I couldn't have anything until, I don't know. July? I don't remember, honestly. He scared me. He said my old lenses could go in these, is that what I wanted? I jumped up and said no. I don't know what I said. I might have accidentally said I'd be back. I don't know. I realize this probably doesn't sound terrible but I was quite tearful at the end of it. I feel like he was trying to get me to leave and was very mean to me. Does Walmart use that happy face guy anymore? I don't even know. But that guy was certainly not happy. Update: I called the Walmart complaint number after the guy was mean. The complaint center is a bit... confused. I repeated myself a bunch of times. If you ever have a complaint, I advise writing it out before calling anyone. The words get confusing and it's hard not to feel twisted. You know how you feel and what happened. Don't let anyone make you say anything you don't mean. Today a lady who worked in the glasses area returned my call. She was very nice and asked what she could do to help. She is going to talk to the man. I guess he's not awful to everyone. She and I agreed that you only know someone when you're with them. I knew him with me. Maybe you if you visit. I was not a fan. I added an extra star because of the retuned call and how nice she was. Not due to the call center or the actual vision center itself.
