Having found Eyes of the World to have good Yelp reviews, I decided to check them out to get my very old glasses script updated. After the exam, I told the optometrist that I really like things super clear, despite her reluctance to bump me up by so much in each eye. She did, though, against her better judgment, and I went home with my crystal clear new script. A week and a half later now, I still haven't adjusted to the new script and I'm getting headaches. I go back in, totally ready to shell out for another set of lenses (it was my own dang fault that I overrode medical advice) and the optometrist refused to let me pay for the replacement lenses. Cost of doing business, she says, and wouldn't let me pay for the replacements despite repeated insistence. In the immediate term, they earned a big bag of thank-you cookies from a local bakery. In the long term, they won the total loyalty of an appreciative customer. I'm deeply impressed by their customer care, their knowledge of vision care, and their unfailing friendliness. I wholeheartedly and unreservedly recommend them to anyone needing new lenses, new frames, and/or eye exams.

In my latest visit, a warm-spirited person named Nate welcomed my partner and I into the store. He couldn't have offered more personalized support. I have chronic migraine and am always looking for ways to reduce my light sensitivity. In the past, I had lenses tinted with FL-41 and loved the tint but always wished I could also have a non-tinted version for certain social circumstances. Nate had the perfect solution: add a magnetic "clip" made by Chemistrie that is tinted with FL-41, so that I can easily pop the tint off or on as desired. We worked together to find just the right frame that was flattering for my face shape and my hair and eye color. Then, we added the Chemistrie magnetic "clip" to the order. Nate communicated clearly and thoughtfully at every step of the process and never made me feel pressured. He facilitated a rapid turnaround when it counted the most (trying to get these frames in time for my wedding). The staff, and especially Nate, made me feel like I wasn't just a customer, I was a friend. When I picked up my new glasses today, I was struck by how beautiful they turned out. Yet the last time we went, which was last month, the doctor asked me if she'd ever had an eye exam there before. According to her, there was no record of her in their system other than to order glasses. Tell me how you lose an entire patient's records and then argue with me about it? I stayed calm and tried to explain that she has never seen another eye doctor, and that she has always been to Eyecare Of Vermont. Hell, she busted her skull when she was two years old in their waiting room and I had to take her to the ER. And yet, what I got in return was a condescending attitude and an eye roll. In my experience, these people do not care about you. You are an irritation they have to put up with to get a paycheck.
